However, the little Asterisk that shows up in the comp title bar that indicates your comp has unsaved changes is not showing up for whatever reason,I've search the web and can't seem to find any info on why it's not showing up I've had to re-install various times before and never had this problem before.. .and the Asterisk shows up in Pr and AE like it should
Using Photoshop CC, what the asterisk means inside the tab name? This is on the inside of the bracket, outside it would mean not saved. I'm using 16 bit files throughout and the ProPhoto RGB Workspace. Files are transferred in and out of Lightroom 5.2 as my front-end .
e.g. Nikon D700-4162-ME.tif @ 21.9% (RGB/16*)

Then, if I save the blank screenof previously minimized file, close it then reopen it the info is back on screen with changes made to the file intact.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a few files that I need to make ASAP into banners that are 19ft x 15ft and many other sizes. I can only change into a RAW Photoshop or a tiff. I tried saving into a tiff then converting but nothing is working.
I was also going to try to convert into a AI program then into a vector but with no luck.
I've got a folder containing 170 pics. They are all DCS 1.0 files which means that folder actually contains 850 items (4 channels-files per pic + preview file).
I need to open each one of 170 pics and save them as EPS (either binary or JPEG - doesn't matter). If I try to automate it, it actually tries to open every channel instead of opening only the preview file.
WE just bought an educational licence of design standard and it been installed on our networked computers.
It seems to be working fine on my computer apart from a bug maybe with adding colours to the gradient map. but thats not why im posting.
If a pupil logs on and opens a new file does some work and then tries to save in a photoshop file format this will work the first time but on a second attempt if they save as another file with a new file name it will say there is a copy of that file when clearly ther isnt. If they say that they want to copy over the file it will save the file but photoshop will not open that file again unable to open wrong file format.
anybody have any idea why photoshop may be acting like this it seems to be a file format issue..

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt has been reported and reproduced by Support, an issue whereby Photoshop .PSD files disappear when they’re saved to a network file share. Upon initial investigations Support have observed the following behaviour when saving a Photoshop file.
The document is initially saved as a new file on the file share. The original .PSD file is deleted on the file share. The newly created file is renamed to the same name as the original file.
An issue often arises when steps 1 and 2 complete however step 3 fails. When a file is reported by users as having disappeared, the new file created in step 1 can be renamed from .00_ to the original *.PSD file name on the server as the *.00_ files are normally hidden by the desktop operating system. This allows people to see and open the file from both PC’s and MAC’s using AFP and SMB protocols.
A related issue often reported by users is that they receive an error message “Could not save as” when trying to save a .PSD file. Troubleshooting the issue confirms that the user is able to save the file if they perform a “Save As” operation in Photoshop.
From the reported problems and observations there is clearly an issue with how Photoshop performs a file save operation further exacerbated by the fact the process doesn’t fail safely.
Is it possible to change the file extension that Photoshop uses to autosave files? Another program that I use also autosaves and apparently uses the same extension. When I open that program, I get a message asking if I want to change the association back to that program.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running PS CS6 on a new 27"imac. When saving documents in CS6, the majority of times no icon is saved only the file name when viewed from the finder. Around 10% of the documents saved will have an icon, the remainder will not. This is across the board with all file types. If I open up a document through CS6 I can see the file icon in the CS6 as I search, it's just through the finder that I can't.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way, when saving jpg files to save as a specific file size, rather than quality level (currently using CS5)? I have a few clients (realtors) who require files to be 100kb (or smaller... but 100kb is the ideal to shoot for) for their listings.
Given I'm working with a number of images, I would like to be able to do this as a batch, rather than one at a time, getting as close to 100 as I can without going over, as I have to at this point.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been running PSE 10 for a while with my Canon 60D, windows 7 and I have never had an issue with importing CR2 files to my organizer. Now all of the sudden they will no longer show up in the organizer or rather there is the icon with a question mark, and the "mssing file" error. When I use the downloader from my card reader I can see them in the preview screen, but when the downloader is done and the files are in the organizer, get nothing but the aforementioned icons.
I installed to the DNG converter as suggested, but that did nothing as well. So, I finally gave up, purchased PSE 12, installed it and guess what, still no luck. I have updated the RAW converter to the latest version and as near as I can tell I have done everything suggested. Like I said earlier, I can see the pictures clearly in the adobe downloader when I import the files from my memory card and I can open the pics fine in the Canon software, I can even open the picture in the Editor if I go through the editor; but I can't do anything with the picture in the Organizer.
