View 3 Replies View RelatedI am scanning a large number of negatives using VueScan. Vuescan automatically creates the digital files in numerical order (if you use the proper settings) as they are scanned and places them in the proper folder. The process of scanning the negatives takes several days. Upon opening PSE 11, all the files should be in numerical order as created, but at times, PSE 11 will put today's files (say numbers 400 - 500) near the top of the list (like 001, 400, 401 etc, then 002, 003 etc) What is wrong? At other times everything is correct. Is there a way to correct this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I place my CF card into the reader PSE opens and displays all the photos on the card the problem is they are out of order. I take volleyball photos and use the burst often The files are numbered properly by the camera but PSE seems to get them mixed up. When I import and renamer them PSE thakes them in the order they are shown and they are then renumbered out of order causind many shots to be out of order. I have never had this problem before. I have been using PSE 6 up thru 10 now and this is the first time I have had this happen. Last season I wasusing PSE9 and all my bursts sequences are in purfect order.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Elements Organizer 11, when I "Import from Camera or Card Reader" and have it rename files, adding a number to a Custom Name, it imports the newest file first, adding the lowest number to the newest file in the camera (in this case an iPhone) and the largest number to the oldest file. Is there a way to make EO11 import files oldest first from a camera, adding the numbers in order from oldest to newest?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm using the most recent version of Lightroom 5.3 (updated through CC - even though this has shown up on previous version) on Windows 7 and all the folders in my library are showing up with the directory path in front of my folder names. How can I get rid of this? I do not see any options in preferences to turn this off. I have also turned off preferences in Windows > Folder Options Control Panel "Display full Path in Title bar" option.
I have Lightroom on several computers and have set up preferences the same on each workstation, and this only shows up on one workstation.
I take high school sports photos using a Canon 7D camera, that can take about 9 pictures per second, which is great for capturing events. I've noticed with several versions of Photoshop Elements (9 &11), on Win 7 Pro 32 AND Win 7 Pro 64 versions (on multiple computers) that when I use Get Photos & Videos|From Camera or Card Reader, then in the photo downloader dialog box, use the Rename Files option, that my picture files get renamed in jumbled fashion. Not all pictures are jumbled, but many. If I have files on my Canon such as DIG001.jpg, DIG002.jpg, DIG003.jpg, DIG004.jpg, they may be renamed as RenameFilename001.jpg (which is acutally DIG001.jpg), RenameFilename002.jpg (which is actually DIG003.jpg), RenameFilename003.jpg (which is actually DIG002.jpg), RenameFilename004.jpg (which is actually DIG004.jpg) - in this case original picture files 2 & 3 have been reversed. This is very confusing when reviewing a photo sequence that is renamed into an out of chronological order sequence (i.e. ball is hiked, ball is caught by receiver, ball is kicked, receiver runs with caught ball).
I have also confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the Canon 7D camera by taking high speed pictures of a video which is displaying video frame numbers. I can confirm that the files as stored in the camera are in the direct chronological order as taken (i. e. 001, 002, 003, 004, etc.). When I then download these pictures from the camera using Photoshop Elements 11, they are not all in chronological order (some are, some aren't).
I don't know if this is a bug in the program or there is something else I need to do to assure the pictures are imported in exact chronological order (as taken by the camera).
I've been reading about this encryption capability. and I want to be able to put my pictures on an encrypted folder on my laptop.
I'd rather the inventory of our house NOT fall into the wrong hands LOL nothing like a road map to where the stuff is.
I recently had to reload Photoshop Elements on a new computer, and the new install doesn't display the folder view of all the files in the Catalog like it did on my old computer. I don't remember how to get that view back? I've tried searching for Folder View, and Hierarchical view, and explorer view, but obviously I don't call this the same thing the Adobe programmers did.
View 1 Replies View RelatedElements Organizer 10 started misplacing all the Imported Files in the folder above at some point.
In Folder Location view (under Display) I right click folder B and chose Import to Elements Organizer. Once the Import is finished, all photos but one are under folder A instead... needless to say my catalog now looks very messy because photos show in folders with different names. In Finder they appear in the right place, and even the File Properties in Elements show the correct location. Just not the Folders.
I have about 20k files imported in my catalogue, this started happening recently and affects only files imported in certain external drives or partitions.I tried the repairs, optimizations, reconnects etc. for the catalogue, looked for updates and restarted the software many times now.
I keep getting a message "New files found in your watched folder". But it shows me old files. If I say I want to download them, it tells me it cannot.
PE 11 Windows 7
Elements 11. I have a folder that I want to just see images that are in aspecific album.
When I click on the folder I see every image whether or not they are in a album. That is I see all images from all albums.
How do I find the ones in the folder that are in a specific album?
Can I find photos by searching folder location, using Photoshop Elements 10? I used to use that method frequently inversion 5, but don't see how to do it in version 10. I am using Windows 7.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to use the Process Multiple Files feature, it is giving me a message saying that the process was stopped or cancelled. Press continue or stop. When I click continue, it say that the folder is empty. It is not empty. This is what I use all the time to put my watermark on my photos.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used Photoshop Elements 3, 5, 7 and 8. In each one I could see the thumbnails of multiple files in the "Folder Location" display in Organiser. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Elements Organizer 11.0 with Windows 8. These temp files have been a problem in at least the previous three versions of PSE with the previous three versions of Windows.
Scenario: Suspiciously low on disk space
Problem: Found thousands of duplicate image files in Windows temp folder (ex. C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalTemp)
PSE creates these files and never deletes them AFAICS after exiting the program, rebooting, using the Windows 'Disk Cleanup' utility, optimizing the catalog, etc. I found no user preference for deleting temp files or limiting them to a particular size.
These can be created for many reasons, but one sure way to do this is to choose File>Save Metada to Files. (If you don't have any images selected it will attempt to do this for all files displayed.) In my case it makes a duplicate of my 29MB CR2 file and a backup of the associated 4KB XMP file. I've used Windows' fc.exe utility to verify that the CR2 is exactly the same, byte for byte.
Is PSE designed to leave these around for us to clean up after they consume the entire hard disk? Am I missing something?
As it does in Windows file hierarchy. also how can i create a new file/folder to put other files/folders into.
Example....move file named "red roses" into newly created file named "Flowers". There doesnt deem to be a drag n drop ability.
I have a PSE 12 file stuck in the "edit mode". I ran completed a repair and an optimize on the catalog and the file is still stuck in the edit mode--I can't even delete the file from the catalog as the "delete" option is grayed out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I scan old film to create digital files, I put them in a folder with the file name ending in a sequential number ( 1, 2, 3, etc). Sometimes, when I open the folder to work on the image files in Photoshop Elements 11, I find the files list in the proper sequential order, but other times, especially when I have recently had some files open, the files will be listed in the order that I last opened them. How can I force PSE 11 to always list them in numerical order upon opening the folder?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow can I search for a file with part of a filename in a given folder?
Or can I change the columns in Advanced Search so that the heading is filename?
I have a large image collection, in excess of 40,000. I'm running on a PC with Windows 7 and all updates installed. I just purchased PSE 11 to replace PSE 10. After installing PSE 11 I converted my catalog. That seemed to go OK. At that point I discovered that my C: drive was almost full so I decided to move my image collection from its C: drive location to an external hard drive that had sufficient capacity. In order to ensure the integrity of the catalog I decided that I should use the PSE 11 Organizer to move the files. This would allow the Organizer to update the location information for the files as it moved them, although it was clear that this would take many hours to complete. So, using Organizer I did a "drag and drop" of my image collection's root file from the C: location to the external drive which happened to be the J: drive. Organizer appeared to be running properly so I left it to continue overnight. The next morning I discovered that only about 2/3 of the files had been moved. There was a very cryptic message that said the opertion could not be completed because of "possibly unsupported files types, files with read only attributes.." etc. I did not write down the actual message and it did not tell me where in the transfer the failure occurred. After doing some detective work I discovered that many folders and files had been copied to the J: drive that were not appearing in the Organizer catalog and consequently were not being displayed. Some folders had only a portion of their files copied. Fortunately, the files were still visible and cataloged on the C: drive. I did look at my files on the C: drive and there were some that for what ever reason had read only attributes.
The selected file, files, or folders should be copied to the specified destination. At that point they should be added to the catalog, then the files should be deleted from their original location and the catalog updated accordingly. If an original file is read only then it can't be deleted but the attempt to delete it should be reported as an inability to delete with no consequences imposed on the files that have been placed in their new location. The "problem" should not be promoted to the status of a serious or fatal error that causes only partial completion of the overall operation.
After taking a large batch of pictures, I want to place them in a folder and rapidly view the full images one at a time to select which to keep and which to discard. IN PE-8 how can I display two panes - one pane containing the image file names contained in a folder and the other pane which displays the image of the file name selected? Using the arrow keys, I want to move through image file names one at a time while displaying the image associated with the file name in the other pane.
