Lightroom :: Re-order Images In Folder After Timezone Change?
Mar 28, 2013*smacks the foreheard* I forgot to change the timezone on the camera when I arrived in a different continent and all my pictures are 8h behind. I have imported the holidays pictures into folders arranged by the day the pictures was taken and therefore many of the pictures are put in the wrong folder.

Correcting the pictures for the difference in the time zone was a cinch. However the pictures are still in the wrong folder! Updating/Synchronizing the folder does not put the pictures in the right folder.

Jul 7, 2013The default sort for the Photo Downloader seems be by date and time. I recently purchased a camera the does up to 10 fps and the Downloader does not seems to have resolution to sort the micro-second or even second. I batch download the images and also do a rename of the files in this format yyyymmdd-###. I am finding my action sequences are all out of order. What I really just need the Downloader to do is sort by sequential camera number just like it comes out of the camera. Then all the images would be renamed in the right order. I tried modifying the XML settings file but that was no success.Â

Mar 6, 2013Here I have several concentric squares in an uninterrupted stack.I moved the topmost (small orange) one vertically.I then went to the Alignment panel, selected all the squares and clicked on the one I moved.Then I clicked on Vertical Distribute Center.
The right hand picture shows what happened.One of the squares (that big orange one) near the bottom of the stack shot up so that its centre was above the centre of the topmost one in the stack.The centres are evenly distributed but why is the stacking order not controlling the order in which the squares are arranged?

Fortunately the positioning of that big orange square was easy to correct, but something tells me this is not the way things are supposed to happen.Seemingly this does not always happen. I have tried the method on several stacks. Some were o.k., others showed similar behaviour to the above.

Sep 1, 2013I take high school sports photos using a Canon 7D camera, that can take about 9 pictures per second, which is great for capturing events. I've noticed with several versions of Photoshop Elements (9 &11), on Win 7 Pro 32 AND Win 7 Pro 64 versions (on multiple computers) that when I use Get Photos & Videos|From Camera or Card Reader, then in the photo downloader dialog box, use the Rename Files option, that my picture files get renamed in jumbled fashion. Not all pictures are jumbled, but many. If I have files on my Canon such as DIG001.jpg, DIG002.jpg, DIG003.jpg, DIG004.jpg, they may be renamed as RenameFilename001.jpg (which is acutally DIG001.jpg), RenameFilename002.jpg (which is actually DIG003.jpg), RenameFilename003.jpg (which is actually DIG002.jpg), RenameFilename004.jpg (which is actually DIG004.jpg) - in this case original picture files 2 & 3 have been reversed. This is very confusing when reviewing a photo sequence that is renamed into an out of chronological order sequence (i.e. ball is hiked, ball is caught by receiver, ball is kicked, receiver runs with caught ball).Â

I have also confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the Canon 7D camera by taking high speed pictures of a video which is displaying video frame numbers. I can confirm that the files as stored in the camera are in the direct chronological order as taken (i. e. 001, 002, 003, 004, etc.). When I then download these pictures from the camera using Photoshop Elements 11, they are not all in chronological order (some are, some aren't).

I don't know if this is a bug in the program or there is something else I need to do to assure the pictures are imported in exact chronological order (as taken by the camera).

Jun 28, 2013By default Adobe Photoshop creates new layers on top of the current layer. In the Western languages we read from top to bottom and left to right. So when I start creating a web site in Photoshop I start from top to bottom as well. However Photoshop creates the new layer above the current, which is the opposite of what I would like to do. I need Photoshop to create new layers below the current layer. I know by holding CTRL/COMMAND and clicking the NEW LAYER icon, will do what I need. However if I do CTRL+J to jump/duplicate the current layer, or select a layer and ALT+DRAG again to duplicate it, again it puts the new layers in top. Is there a way to reverse the default order Photoshop places layers? If not, I suggest that to Adobe implement an option in the general settings for Photoshop. Flash for example had similar option to read/place layers from top to bottom or bottom to top.

Jan 17, 2014This has been a problem ever since LR3 and on previous versions of the MacOS. I hoped that it would be fixed in LR5, but not yet. When I select multiple images for email in LR5 on a Mac running Mavericks, the preview shows the images in the correct order, but in the email message itself, the order is reversed so that the last image is first and the first image is last. The only workaround is to create a separate export for each image or to export a folder of images and manually add them to a single email.

In addition, it would be useful if there were a space between images in the email so that the images don't all run together in one long strip. There should be a way to have this happen by setting up a style or template so that it does not have to be done manually.
Lightroom :: Images Are Not In Order In The Import Dialogue Box?
Mar 1, 2013using lightroom 4.3... when I import photos, they appear in random order in the IMPORT viewing window. With pervious versions of lightroom, they were always in order of file name. It becomes more time consuming to select specific files to import to a file if there are 2 or more jobs on one CF card ( I have photos of my kids skiing mixed up with a portrait session.). Is there a way to sort the photos (by file name, or time) before import? I do know how to sort post import.

Mar 12, 2012Is there any way to modify the order of the views that have been placed on the drawing sheet? We have a lot of times where we place an assembly view to drive the title block and then place the child components for detailing. Too many time the assembly view gets forgotten until you are done detailing the other parts, now instead of the assembly name showing on that sheet it is the first part you inserted. I would like to be able to select a view and tell Inventor that I would like this view to be the first view instead so I don't have to copy and past everything from one sheet to another. I used to have some code that looked at that first view but I can't find it anymore.

- Opening various gimp files (xcf)
- Creating new xcf files
The layers are not;
- Locked
- Floating
