Photoshop Elements :: Get Photos From 11 Into A File Folder?
Jun 25, 2013
How do I get my photos from Elemtnts 11 into a file folder. I am trying to use Blurb to make a travel book but because of the number of photos I have them in groups and want them to stay in groups for the book. Unfortunately the photos in each grouping are all over the place and will be definitely difficult and time consuming to bring into Blurb.
My file locator displays photos in locations other than the folder selected. The path displayed at the top of the photos is neither the location of the selected folder nor the photos displayed. Is there a way to correct this?
Basically, my problem is that I imported some 300 pictures into one folder but the organizer hasn't organized the pictures correctly. Which way it's organized the files but they're not in date/time order which is what I want them to be. The video tutorial seems to show that I can sort the photos by date/time taken (and I would be amazed if it didn't do that) but I can't get any option on the screen to sort by date/time taken, file size, file name etc., all of which I'm assuming I should be able to do. how to sort by date/time and, at the same time, how to change the defaults so that it normally shows files from the earliest date/time to the latest.
How to setup elements-10 to arrange photos by folders in thich folders are dated (2011, 2012, 2013,...) with subfolders by date (01-22-13 Day at Fair). This was very easy in photo elements 6.0 in which the directory tree resided in a left side window pane.
I am looking to copy to a named folder a selection of photos that I intend to incorporate in to a ProShow Gold slide show so that ProShow will always know where they are. When I select copy I don't see an option to copy to a specific location.
Have just transferred photos from old to new computer. Photos transferred OK but folder names did not. It would save a lot of work if folder names could be transferred as well. Running Photoshop 11 and Windows 8.1.
I am using the trial version of Elements. I imported photos from my G drive, but it refuses to import the photos under the folder named "My Pictures". It sees the folder and subfolder, but not the pictures, even though it imported all of the photos under other folders, and imported the pictures in My Pictures under the C drive. Is there any way I can import the photos without renaming the folder?
I have 2 hard disks in my computer. The c drive is getting crowded and I want to move my photo folder to the other disc (D:). How do I "tell" Organizer to point to the d drive instead of the C drive.
Why does the orginizer put my music files and photo files in the same folder. The file it is in is all media but shouldnt there be a music folder as well or do I have to go in and manually select each of my music files and put them into a sepeate folder or is this even possable in Photoshop Elements 12?
I recently took a number of photos, which I then put onto my hard-drive in a temporary folder - so I could view them on the monitor using the ordinary windows viewer. A day or so later, I went into Photoshop Elements 11 and imported them into the catalog. I thought that by doing so I would copy them from the temporary folder into the "main" folder - the one where all the photos are imported to when I import them from the camera's memory card. So I then deleted the temporary folder. And then I found that the photos were not actually in the main folder after all. They had remained in the temporary folder, despite being added to the catalog (and where now deleted).
Is there a way to make PSE 11 move or copy the photos from a folder on the hard drive to the "main" folder?
The message sez to download the photos, but this has already been done, so no new photos are downloaded. Also I cannot initially see all my subfolders, and need to right click and select show all subfolders each time.
I have a folder on my hard drive with 72 photos (files) in it. When I pull this folder up in Lightroom 3, the number next to the folder incorrectly indicates that there are 73 photos in this file!? When I "Select Al"l photos for this folder, it indicates that 72 out of 73 photos were selected. Why does Lightroom indicate one extra photo that should not be there, and how do I correct this? Synchronizing the folder did not fix this.
I can not paste photos from my photos file. If I start a blank file I can paste anything photos want from the web in as many layers as I want. If I try to paste a photo from my own photos file it becomes the back ground by itself. I don't know how to stop this. Using photoshop elements 11.
Have Elements11 on a pc and have edited many photos. Most come out in a jpeg file, which I want and tome come out with just the name "File". I can only open this "File" in Windows Photoviewer and cannot do any other thing to it. How it became just "File" to open in Window Photoviewer only. Cannot get it into any position or file to change it to a jpeg. I have Windows 8, which is a bunch of crap..
When I scan old film to create digital files, I put them in a folder with the file name ending in a sequential number ( 1, 2, 3, etc). Sometimes, when I open the folder to work on the image files in Photoshop Elements 11, I find the files list in the proper sequential order, but other times, especially when I have recently had some files open, the files will be listed in the order that I last opened them. How can I force PSE 11 to always list them in numerical order upon opening the folder?
I've got about 10,000 photos that I've moved in lightroom by creating a folder called 'pictures' on the external drive using the left folders panel. I then selected all the images in the root drive on my computer and dragged them onto the 'pictures' folder on the external drive, and I expected the folder structure to come with it. Only after I realised that they had all moved into one folder. Is there a way of moving the images back into a structure without manually doing it? Here's a screenshot.....
I've got some 500 photos in a folder which were imported on two different dates. I've created a new album on the right hand side under "Organize" and just the photos I want are in there. When I look at the folder on the right, all the pictures are there. But I can't call up just that folder; instead what I get on my screen is all 2500 photos in all my photo albums! Not what I want! What I want to get is all the photos in the order in which they were taken on the actual day as all 500 photos were taken at the same day. And I want to be able to view just the 500 photos in that folder by the time those pictures were taken. But, when I imported the second batch of photos it showed the date the file was created rather than the date the photo was taken so, basically, I've got one batch of photos showing the date they were taken (which I downloaded via a link a few days later), and one showing the date they were copied!
I have a large image collection, in excess of 40,000. I'm running on a PC with Windows 7 and all updates installed. I just purchased PSE 11 to replace PSE 10. After installing PSE 11 I converted my catalog. That seemed to go OK. At that point I discovered that my C: drive was almost full so I decided to move my image collection from its C: drive location to an external hard drive that had sufficient capacity. In order to ensure the integrity of the catalog I decided that I should use the PSE 11 Organizer to move the files. This would allow the Organizer to update the location information for the files as it moved them, although it was clear that this would take many hours to complete. So, using Organizer I did a "drag and drop" of my image collection's root file from the C: location to the external drive which happened to be the J: drive. Organizer appeared to be running properly so I left it to continue overnight. The next morning I discovered that only about 2/3 of the files had been moved. There was a very cryptic message that said the opertion could not be completed because of "possibly unsupported files types, files with read only attributes.." etc. I did not write down the actual message and it did not tell me where in the transfer the failure occurred. After doing some detective work I discovered that many folders and files had been copied to the J: drive that were not appearing in the Organizer catalog and consequently were not being displayed. Some folders had only a portion of their files copied. Fortunately, the files were still visible and cataloged on the C: drive. I did look at my files on the C: drive and there were some that for what ever reason had read only attributes.
The selected file, files, or folders should be copied to the specified destination. At that point they should be added to the catalog, then the files should be deleted from their original location and the catalog updated accordingly. If an original file is read only then it can't be deleted but the attempt to delete it should be reported as an inability to delete with no consequences imposed on the files that have been placed in their new location. The "problem" should not be promoted to the status of a serious or fatal error that causes only partial completion of the overall operation.
After taking a large batch of pictures, I want to place them in a folder and rapidly view the full images one at a time to select which to keep and which to discard. IN PE-8 how can I display two panes - one pane containing the image file names contained in a folder and the other pane which displays the image of the file name selected? Using the arrow keys, I want to move through image file names one at a time while displaying the image associated with the file name in the other pane.
When I open Elements 9 in Folder Location the images displayed are not those in the highlighted folder. Similarly if I select another folder I see another selection of images from elsewhere in the structure.
I'm new to Elements 10 and I'm having a hard time figuring things out but 1 thing in particular. I'm on a PC and use Windows 7.I already import a lot of pic's to Elements or so I thought.
When I'm in "Folder Location" and click on a folder it doesn't display any pictures and says "No files from this folder have been imported into Elements Organizer. To add any files, right click on the folder and select "Import to Organizer"
So I do as I'm told and then i get this error."Nothing was imported. The files or folders selected to import did not contain any supported file types or the files are already in this catalog."
I just finished importing my photos to Elements, and was going to add the folder I keep them in to my watched folders, to keep them up to date. Since everything imported just fine, I was surprised to find that I got the following error when trying to add the folder:
The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.
I looked around the site using search and Google, and found a few other occurences of this error, but they all only show answers that apply to network shares. The folder I am trying to watch is not a network drive that I have to use a \serverfolder format to access, as the folder is located on my hard drive under C:UsersusernameGoogle DrivePictures.

Installed Elements 12, converted catalog but now my sub folders are shown as main folders in Organizer folder view. How can I get back my original folder/sub folder system? When I look at Windows folders my system is as it was so the two don't match any more. On searching further came across more info on Community-powered support for Photoshop Family and it seems Adobe have removed the option of sub folders.
Given a file folder of photos. How can these photos be resequenced and renumbered so that they are in the resequenced (and renumbered) order in the file folder? This was easy in Elements 3. Drag the photos in the File Browser to the desired sequence and then use the Batch Rename function under Automate to Rename / Renumber the photos.I cannot accomplish this in Elements 10.
