Trying to burn album and PE won't do it. It keeps going in a search mode looking for lost or misplaced files. What can I do to get around this problem?
View 1 RepliesRecently upgraded to X3 despite reservations on the 'Burn' capabilities (see many threads in this forum). Having completed a project I now want to burn a DVD. The options available in X3 do not excite me - it seems that there is a forced exit from X2 into either DVD Factory Pro or DVD MovieFactory 7 SE. Played with these but then breached my low boredom threshold (is it worth persevering with either of them? Both look a bit Mickey-Mouse)
Decided to fire-up my trusty copy of X2 and do the burn in that.
On the first screen I noticed that the 'Next' button is partially obscured by the 'Setting and Options' button. But enough is visible to proceed to next screen. But problem arises on next screen where 'Next' button has now become 'Back' button and 'Next' button is no longer visible. Therefore I can only go backwards but not forwards (a metaphor for life?)
Have tried an uninstall and reinstall of X2 but problem remains exactly the same. Did not have this problem before I installed X3 (on same computer).
Questions:
1. Is there a keyboard shortcut that will take me to the next screen when in Burn mode?
2. Is it worth persevering with either of the burn options in X3 or are both inferior to the X2 burn?
Right clicked on an album for "Export to DVD" and a little preview window opened & downloaded 360 images for 10-12 minutes, it closed, then I put a DVD in the tray & the program automatically started to burn to it for about 10 seconds. I checked the DVD and it only had nine images.
Tried the whole process again and got 7 images on this DVD. Why won't all 360 images in the album burn to the DVD [when they apparently all download to the "Preview" window?
Without premiere elements how can you burn a dvd of the images in my album.

Then my computer got a virus and the hard drive had to be wiped clean. I restored my files and pictures from an external hard drive. I reinstalled Photoshop Elements 9 and then uploaded the albums from the XML file I saved. All the album names are restored, but the pictures are not connected to the albums! How can I restore the albums with the pictures without starting over and dragging each picture into the album? I thought the XML file saved the picture/album links?

On all my pictures each person is tagged. For my mother the Person Tag is called "mother"
I created a saved search with the criteria Person include "mother". The problem now is that also pictures are shown with my mother and other persons. But i would like only pictures from my mother without other persons. Something like... "Person is mother and not person "sister" and not person "friends" etc.

When I click on the folder I see every image whether or not they are in a album. That is I see all images from all albums.

The Duplicate Photo Search function finds pictures that look the same.
Why isn't there a function that finds photos with the same filenames and date/time? That way you could easily delete the duplicates.
I am using PSE 10 on a Mac and I would like to export photos from an album as jpeg files to the hard disk. I would like to rename the files so that the first image in the album will have a the album name and index 1, the second image will have the same name and index 2 etc.

Is there a way to extract selected thumbnails from the cache?
PS: I frequently use "Reconnect" to be confirm that I have all files but apparently offline files are ignored in that process. It used to be easy since the thumbnails were discrete but now . I learned to avoid offline files in early Photoshop Album days - but at least then I could find the thumbnails.

Yellow question marks continue to appear on the top left of some images in one of my catalogs even though these images have not actually been moved. The Organizer searches for the "missing file" and finds it quickly but why is it "missing"? I have gone through the albums in this catalog, completed the missing file searches on all the images so that no yellow question marks appear and when I go back to the catalog the next time I find the yellow question marks are there again! What is making the found file become lost again?
I lost my search screen in the help area of ACAD Civil 3D 2011. The area where I would type in the search term is missing. The other tabs in the help screen work normally. See attachment for the screen I get.

When I migrated to 2012 form 2011, it only migrated a partial list of the support file search locations. So, I reset the ones that were missing and exported out my profile.
Next I saved my workspace to my name and checked the box to "automatically save workspace".
I shut my computer down for the night. When I restarted my computer, then AutoCAD 2012 the missing support paths are missing again. I am not the only one in the CAD department that is having this issue. It is so annoying to have to reset my profile every time I shut my computer down.
I successfully exported the catalog from my old Vista Computer running elements 6. I imported the catalog to a Sony Vaio running Windows 8.1 . All pics and albums are in the organizer. However I cannot add additional pictures from a file folder in the organizer to an album that is also in the organizer that was previously created in elements 6
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently moved a catalog from a PC to a mac (after 5+ years using PSE on a PC). I transferred (using PSE11 restore catalog process) 25,000+ photos across using the instructions from adobe and had it all working perfectly for a couple of weeks.
Recently all the photos in my catalog have become 'missing files'. The catalog is located in a custom location on the internal drive being '/users/marcus/pictures/adobe/organizer/media/media/'
pse11 now thinks location is '/volumes/public/users/marcus/pictures/adobe/organizer/media/media/'
The /volumes/ directory contains references to files on network drives (and show up under 'Shared' in finder). I have no idea how PSE11 decided to think all the files in ther catalog were on a network drive.
When I reconnect the file manually, then the program returns the error "The file exists in the catalog."
This error appears to be the one referenced here: [URL] ... being kb404560 but these are mostly windows based solutions. I have tried the suggested solutions without success on the mac
I suspect the problem occurred due to OSX's stadard process of mounting virtual drives to install new programs but this is a guess as I am new to macs. I have unmounted all recent drives
