I lost my search screen in the help area of ACAD Civil 3D 2011. The area where I would type in the search term is missing. The other tabs in the help screen work normally. See attachment for the screen I get.

When I migrated to 2012 form 2011, it only migrated a partial list of the support file search locations. So, I reset the ones that were missing and exported out my profile.
Next I saved my workspace to my name and checked the box to "automatically save workspace".
I shut my computer down for the night. When I restarted my computer, then AutoCAD 2012 the missing support paths are missing again. I am not the only one in the CAD department that is having this issue. It is so annoying to have to reset my profile every time I shut my computer down.
Trying to burn album and PE won't do it. It keeps going in a search mode looking for lost or misplaced files. What can I do to get around this problem?

Our computer's are set up by an outside source and I believe they did not migrate anything correctly or did something incorrectly. My issue specifically is anything to do with rendering and materials displaying is not working. I just want to make sure ACAD 2013 is looking at all the standard file locations along with our customization files. This is happening on 2 computers that have 2013 installed, all the rest are still using 2012 and this works fine. I tried exporting that profile, but still nothing works for rendering.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am needing to grade out from a featureline that is in cut to daylight in the fill direction (drainage flows away from the featureline). To do this I have created a grading critieria that has the Fill First Search Order parameter locked. I have verified that there is a fill solution if I use a 0.2% slope on the grading. Yet when I apply the grading it always uses the cut solution. It refuses to find a fill solution even if I apply 0.05% slope to the grading.

I am running GIMP 2.6.10 under Ubuntu Maverick...and latelyhave been having an intermittent problem with the fileselector.
It pops up seemingly locked-up so I can't change directoriesor disks, matter of fact can't do anything but close it.
Lost the action bar on bottom of the screen totally and the information that used to oocupy a column on the left. This situation makes it impossible to switch to the Editor.
When I start from the Editor screen all is normal. I already re-installed the program without resolving the problem.

I have many pictures (about 10'000). Now i need a search (smart search) with pictures where only my mother (is marked)
On all my pictures each person is tagged. For my mother the Person Tag is called "mother"
I created a saved search with the criteria Person include "mother". The problem now is that also pictures are shown with my mother and other persons. But i would like only pictures from my mother without other persons. Something like... "Person is mother and not person "sister" and not person "friends" etc.
I'm using Lightroom 5.2RC. Not sure if this started happening with the 5.2RC version or if it's been an issue for a while.
While in Library mode, when I choose a library search filter preset, say all 5 stars, and then toggle the filter off and on again, the search criteria randomizes to something wildly different than what I was just searching for, for example, adding text and metadata to the search queries when I only had star attributes selected a few seconds before.
I've experimented with turning the filter lock icon on and off and that seems to have no effect. Switching between folders in my catalog and toggling search off and on, results in the same random search criteria being generated.
Lightroom 4.2 – the situation is this, I have a number of pictures of group shots with many people. I tag each person in each photo. I show my photos to these people and they would like a print of photos with them in it. I am an amature photographer currently located in India where most people have no cameras, so I normally oblige if someone wants my of them pictures printed. On one such occasion I took a week long trip with some friends.After showing them the pictures I tagged “Print for Raju”, “Print for Priya”, “Print for Varun”. The problem arises now when I try to search keywords in the “contains all” section, “print for varun” doesn’t do an exact search. Rather if Raju wanted a picture of Varun printed, that picture would have the tag “Varun” and “print for Raju” and which would make the photo included in my search “print for varun” even if varun doesn’t want the picture.
Is there a way to search EXACTLY what I type? If my picture has 15 tags, “contains all” will search all those tags and if it can piece together the three words I am searching for out of all of the tags, it will reveal results inconsistent with my desires.I realize now that I could use collections instead of tags for compiling pictures to print for people.
Is there a way to search for a text style in a civil style? I have a text style that our company is trying to get rid of and I would very much like to not have to go through our 72 company styles.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe've recently done some work for an engineering firm, and have also recently upgraded to Civil 2013.
It turns out they are using Civil 2011, and obviously are unable to open our drawing. As far as I'm aware, they need a TIN surface and cogo points, but I'm unsure of how to provide them with this other than reproccessing the job on an older version of Civil.
I'm thinking that I might be able to export to LandXML to keep all my points and surface, and then just export to Autocad 2010 for the linework?
When I select objects, right click to copy or copy the grips and selection goes away. It stays in the command and I have to reselect my objects. My select similar is also affected. I have this problem for a few days and then it goes away. After a few weeks, it comes back. Noun/verb, implied windowing and object grouping are checked on in my selection modes. C3D2011 v2
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a single drawing that when it is opened with regular AutoCAD (2009), it looses the imageclip every time. If it is opened with Civil 3D (2009), it's fine. The AutoCAD machine can open other drawings without this happening, so I'm thinking it's something drawing dependent.
Audit/purge does not useful.

I am using Civil3d 2011 and the ribbon will not display. The button seem to work some times but I can't see the ribbon, QAT, or Infocenter. I tried relaoding the CUI files, updated video card drivers, Civil3D patches, even uninstalled and reinstalled Civil3D.
I can turn the ribbon off (ribbonclose) and the ribon area is rendered correctly on the screen. I can turn the menubar on/off and it works just fine.
I tried logging on to the computer as different user, as the administrator, etc. Same error.
I use the Ribbon but now I can't because I can't see it.
I have attached a screen shot of the ribbon area.
Are there any compatibility issues with Autoturn 6.0 (by transsoft) and civil 3D 2011. Our Traffic Engineering Division uses the Autoturn program for turning templates, etc.

We have some clients that are using version 2011 and we are using 2014. The landxml we made for them was too big for them to import. My boss made a DEM GEOTIFF to send as it was much smaller.
The client has called me and asked me how the heck does he import the file as he as never worked with them. I have a computer with a 2012 installation, but it's corrupt, none of the MAP utilities work.
how to instruct my client to import this file.
I have a job that the customer provide the original CAD files with Civil 3D styles in them. As the project has progressed we have found many of the styles were not created properly and notified the customer. They have told us to fix the errors and send them the corrections...
Now that I have one file working properly I have to push the changes to the 30+ styles through the 100+ files of the job. Is there a quick way to do this in Civil 3D 2011? (It is part of our contract to use this specific program and release year without converting the files.) Or do I need to drag-and-drop each style into each file?

I have yet to be able to connect to our ArcSDE database using 2011. In 2009 and 2010 Civil 3D I had to move 3.dll files from my ESRI directory to the FDO/bin directory for Civil 3D. This immediately allowed for a connection using CAD's Data Connect.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble with splined polylines in 2011? I tried to edit a splined PLine and the program was unresponsive for about 10 minutes. After I edited the spline the drawing size doubled. I reverted to a backup and erased the spline. I drew a Pline and used Fit Curve with no problem.
I draw another PLine and didn't like the results. So I tried to spline it and now Civil is unresponsive for the past 5 minutes. I'm doing this on a different computer. So it isn't that particular machine or installation.
I cannot insert an ecw image in AutoCAD C3D 2011. Ecw does not appear as a choice when I use Image Insert. I have already downloaded the AutoCAD Raster Design 2011 Object Enabler.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI needed to check some vehicle turning movements against my design, so I started Civil 3d from the AutoTurn icon. As I was working I noticed that I don't have any Tooltips anymore. I've checked the global tooltip settings in the Civil3d settings, and the Autocad options, and also the tooltip settings for individual objects.
I also found that the glyphs which should appear when snaps are turned on aren't visible, although the snaps do work properly. Once I had finished with the vehicle checks I shut down, and then restarted from the Civil3d icon but the behavior hasn't changed back to normal. I've also tried repairing the installation - next step will be a full reinstall.
I updated software from Civil 3D, 2011 to 2012, a while back. Recently I went back to print a drawing created in 2011 and found that the plot styles that I had made were no longer there. Is there a way to get these plot styles back? I already uninstalled C3D 2011.

I used the DWG TrueView program and was able to convert the 2013 file to 2011, but none of the alignments, profiles or corridors converted over. How to convert a 2013 file to 2011 and get the alignments, profiles, corridors, etc., to convert over as well?
