I cannot insert an ecw image in AutoCAD C3D 2011. Ecw does not appear as a choice when I use Image Insert. I have already downloaded the AutoCAD Raster Design 2011 Object Enabler.

Here is what I'm getting.
Is there a way to get this to show on the drawing. I am using the Manage>Insert Object command.
I created a number of 3D blocks to be inserted into a 3D model of a building. I created the blocks in a separate drawing first; i defined them locally, then, when i had them the way i wanted them, I used "wblock" to save all of these blocks to a folder.
I then opened the 3D building model and tried to insert one of my new blocks. I repeatedly get the following:

I have tried repairing my installation of autocad with no improvement.
i tried opening the drawing of the block itself, copying it, and pasting it via the "copybase" command into the other drawing with the same result.
Occasionally, autocad will ask me if i'd like to debug the program (and visual studio opens) -- it mentions a "StackOverflowException" within acad.exe, and also mentioned "windowsbase.dll".
I am using windows 7 pro x64 and autocad 2011.
CPU: intel i7
Graphics: NVidia GeForce GTS 250
8GB DDR3 ram
The autocad error-reporting dialog never gets launched as it is forced to close before this point.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe've recently done some work for an engineering firm, and have also recently upgraded to Civil 2013.
It turns out they are using Civil 2011, and obviously are unable to open our drawing. As far as I'm aware, they need a TIN surface and cogo points, but I'm unsure of how to provide them with this other than reproccessing the job on an older version of Civil.
I'm thinking that I might be able to export to LandXML to keep all my points and surface, and then just export to Autocad 2010 for the linework?
I am using Civil3d 2011 and the ribbon will not display. The button seem to work some times but I can't see the ribbon, QAT, or Infocenter. I tried relaoding the CUI files, updated video card drivers, Civil3D patches, even uninstalled and reinstalled Civil3D.
I can turn the ribbon off (ribbonclose) and the ribon area is rendered correctly on the screen. I can turn the menubar on/off and it works just fine.
I tried logging on to the computer as different user, as the administrator, etc. Same error.
I use the Ribbon but now I can't because I can't see it.
I have attached a screen shot of the ribbon area.
Are there any compatibility issues with Autoturn 6.0 (by transsoft) and civil 3D 2011. Our Traffic Engineering Division uses the Autoturn program for turning templates, etc.

We have some clients that are using version 2011 and we are using 2014. The landxml we made for them was too big for them to import. My boss made a DEM GEOTIFF to send as it was much smaller.
The client has called me and asked me how the heck does he import the file as he as never worked with them. I have a computer with a 2012 installation, but it's corrupt, none of the MAP utilities work.
how to instruct my client to import this file.
I have a job that the customer provide the original CAD files with Civil 3D styles in them. As the project has progressed we have found many of the styles were not created properly and notified the customer. They have told us to fix the errors and send them the corrections...
Now that I have one file working properly I have to push the changes to the 30+ styles through the 100+ files of the job. Is there a quick way to do this in Civil 3D 2011? (It is part of our contract to use this specific program and release year without converting the files.) Or do I need to drag-and-drop each style into each file?

I have yet to be able to connect to our ArcSDE database using 2011. In 2009 and 2010 Civil 3D I had to move 3.dll files from my ESRI directory to the FDO/bin directory for Civil 3D. This immediately allowed for a connection using CAD's Data Connect.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble with splined polylines in 2011? I tried to edit a splined PLine and the program was unresponsive for about 10 minutes. After I edited the spline the drawing size doubled. I reverted to a backup and erased the spline. I drew a Pline and used Fit Curve with no problem.
I draw another PLine and didn't like the results. So I tried to spline it and now Civil is unresponsive for the past 5 minutes. I'm doing this on a different computer. So it isn't that particular machine or installation.
We are Xreffing Images in AutoCAD 2011. The Aspect Ratio is different when the Images show up in the AutoCAD drawing.

I used the DWG TrueView program and was able to convert the 2013 file to 2011, but none of the alignments, profiles or corridors converted over. We've a problem that when the software is deployed to machines it doesn't display the tool palettes. After some investigation and following steps on this website I've identified that the issue is the tool palettes are installed inn to the profile of whoevers account installs the software. if its deplyoed this will be the Sys Admin account and not the profile of the relevant user account.
What is the location of the tool palette settings within the registry or the relevant configuration files in the profile so that I can either script or embed it in to the package?
I recently got a new computer that has Windows 7 64-bit on it. I immediately installed Civil 3d 2012 on it and it worked great. Some of our projects are in 2012 but some of them are still in 2011. So I exported the license from my old machine and tried to install Civil 3d 2011 on my new machine. I noticed that a couple SQL programs did not install because there was already a newer version on my machine. When it finished installing a tried to open it up and it acts like it is going to start ( I get the pretty Civil 3d Picture in the middle of my screen and the window pops up) but as soon at it starts it just disappears and goes right back to my desktop.
I though that maybe the problem was that I installed 2012 first so I completely uninstalled both of them and tried to reinstall just 2011 and I still have the same problem. I also tried disabling my Virus/Spyware protection software and reinstalling it. Same results.
Any method for exporting an alignment as a shapefile in C3D 2011?

Recently (In the past 6 months) I have noticed that Sheet Set Manager is very slow when trying to do anything. It takes at least 45 seconds for a box to appear when right clicking on SSM to publish or change properties. Every user in our office has the same problem. I am not sure if this is a network problem or if it is a problem with C3D ?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to drive through my corridor, using the new command. As instructed, I select my corridor, hit 'drive', select my alignment and select my profile. After this, the model regens and returns to the command line, no drive tools in sight...
My corridor has six regions, although I don't see why this should be a problem.
I am just starting out in Civil 3D and we are using the 2011 version. Anyway I have created cross sections along the centerline of a profile. How do I get the elevations and offsets to show up without digits to the right of the decimal, in other words to the nearest foot (ie. 3820.00 = 3820, 50.00 = 50)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen we try to open/save a file that was started in Land Desktop, we get significant performance slowdowns, lockups, and crashes in Civil 3D 2011. Most of these files only contain simple linework, labels, etc. (no Land Desktop surfaces, alignments, profiles created in project).
We've tested purge, purge regapps, audit, recover, Export to AutoCAD, and AECOBJEXPLODE (which produces errors). WBLOCK is not really an option in this case because we may have to reference multiple projects back to these original Land Desktop files.
inserting a Tiff image into a dwg file with Raster Design 2011. I have a image scanned at 400dpi and the image is a good quality image, some of the text is small be legible. When I insert the image with the imageattch command the image seems to gain pixels therefore causing some text to become unreadable. I've used the bitonal filter but then I lose some resolution. Is it normal for the TIFF image to appear more dense when brought into an Autocad drawing? If so is there a way to adjust the image to look more like the scan?
