Aug 3, 2013I have LR installed on my MacPro and the Mac just died (graphics card issues). I'm going to just buy a new Mac, though I'm trying to figure out the best way to access everything in LR until then. All of the images and photos are stored on a separate internal drive that I can take out and access via a docking station.
1. Does the license for LR allow me to install a 2nd copy on my Mac notebook?
2. If I place a copy of the LR catalog file on my Mac notebook and plug the photos/videos drive into a docking station connected to my notebook, will everything open up?
Photoshop :: PSD Files Disappear When Saved To Network File Share
Apr 10, 2013It has been reported and reproduced by Support, an issue whereby Photoshop .PSD files disappear when they’re saved to a network file share. Upon initial investigations Support have observed the following behaviour when saving a Photoshop file.
The document is initially saved as a new file on the file share.The original .PSD file is deleted on the file share.The newly created file is renamed to the same name as the original file.
An issue often arises when steps 1 and 2 complete however step 3 fails. When a file is reported by users as having disappeared, the new file created in step 1 can be renamed from .00_ to the original *.PSD file name on the server as the *.00_ files are normally hidden by the desktop operating system. This allows people to see and open the file from both PC’s and MAC’s using AFP and SMB protocols.
A related issue often reported by users is that they receive an error message “Could not save as” when trying to save a .PSD file. Troubleshooting the issue confirms that the user is able to save the file if they perform a “Save As” operation in Photoshop.
From the reported problems and observations there is clearly an issue with how Photoshop performs a file save operation further exacerbated by the fact the process doesn’t fail safely.

So I can't deactivate the program installation on that OLD computer and the program won't allow me to install it on the NEW computer (it's written that I have reached the limits of 2 installations. Jul 15, 2013I'm having problems opening photoshop CS3 after a clean install. I have deactivated my CS3 product on my old computer, that run on windows XP. With my DVD installed on my new computer that runs on windows 7. After the installation, I tried to open photoshop to activate. When the program stats to open and freezes almost instantly. I have to open the task manager to close the program that appears not responding.
My new computer is a Workstation, S5000XVN Intel motherboard, 24 Gb of Ram, NVidea Quadro 2000.

Mar 12, 2013When a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.

I just bought a new computer which came preloaded with Vista, and uploaded my old copy of CS3 onto it. The program seems to be working fine, except that when I open a file in Photoshop and edit it, then save it in a new file (as I do for most of my photoshoots, etc), or even when I save it in the orignial folder, the new "saved" file will not show up in the Vista folder. If I go back to Photoshop and open the folder via File>Open, I can access all of my pictures, but to I cannot access them to upload to the internet, email, use in other programs, etc.If I go into "Recently Changed Documents" I can find them, but they seem to be in a temp folder in the Adobe folders. But again, if I go back to Adobe, it says they are in the folder I put them in.

Jan 23, 2013When I send a file to Ps from Lr, edit that file then save it, Lr puts that file at the end of the line instead of next to the file I was working on. When you have 600 photos in a down loud, it is a pain to scroll through the photo's to find your place again.
Is there a setting to force the saved file back in line next to the file that was edited in Ps?
