And everytime I change my brush settings in photoshop. it doesn't change anything. Everytime I turn off Shape dynamics the minute my pen touches the board it turns on!

Usually it automatically tapers the brush, but it just is staying round.
Have tried re-installing,
I am using CS4 64bit
Even when selecting a default brush my brush stroke is not at all similar to the shape (slowly widening and then tapering off 'ie default preset') even when shape dynamics is turned on, as you can see in the photo. I'm certain it's not due to my tablet, as the sensitivity works fine in other programs. I am currently using CS5.

I am trying to get a pen stroke that starts out thin...gets normal size in the middle...and then shrinks back down to a thin line at the end.
In brush dynamics... I am able to get a thin ending on a stroke but not a thin beginning. Im using the size jitter control set to fade at 300 to get a line that fades to thin OK at the end...but I cant make the beginning thin!
I am trying to stroke a curved path for Christmas designs...scroll kind of looks...thin beginning...fat middle...thin end.
I simply cannot get the brush to taper with the preset or custom settings.

I have CS6. I used to be able to fade out brushes under the Size Jitter in Shape Dynamics but can't now. I open up CS3 and I can do it in there. why it isn't working in CS6?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSee the attached mini screen grab. I've built a North America map showing Alaska and filled it with a gradient and saved it. When I re-open the file, Alaska has turned black as shown. When I rebuild the color, it re-opens as black again.
I've tried numerous workarounds, including pasting into a new document, making a new layer, and even deleting the rest of North America to eliminate the possibility of file size or memory limits. None of these workarounds has worked.
how to make the silhouette effect below. I see it used on alot of projects and also used as a fake pencil drawing effect on paper.

I'm running Autocad 2013 Civil 3d, when I open a particular drawing the cursor turns to a circular shape as if it is downloading something, but it is actually not loading anything. This circular cursor does not let you do anything with the drawing, you just have to keep hitting esc until it gives you a fatal error message that says "FATAL ERROR: Cannot write to undo file (probably disk full)" and it kicks you out of autcad. How to get rid of this ciruclar cursor?

How I know there might be a way to turn that shape into a type that I can also select it and fill with color but not asking to make or stroke path. I try to fill in shape with color through the menu task bar on top of the canvas window pane.

My Photoshop CS3 (Windows XP) all of a sudden takes over a minute to open any file. The programs starts fine, then when I select a file to open, the program pauses, then hangs for over a minute and the photoshop window becomes blank before the file finally appears.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not getting an error or anything, but the blue grid that follows the area being rendered eventually stops moving, and Photoshop becomes frozen at that point. I have to use the Task Manager to shut it down.

I used Catalyst to install all the latest drivers. I did that when I had CS5. I was trying to do 3D stuff with CS5, but that version wasn't able to detect my GPU, so I got CS6. I've been doing 3D stuff for the past couple days without much issue. I mean, the rendering was slow, but never halted.
I thought maybe it was the size of my document, so I reduced the size, and the rendering process got a little further, but still eventually crashed.
Is there a way to turn on the ctrl shift alt and space bar options for the selection window like it works with the shape tools?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to output a 4 minute slideshow to WMV. the file saved is the correct length but has only converted half the content of the slide show, halfway through the audio continues but it freezes on one photo. last week I made a 7 minute slide show with the same settings and jepg. sizes and it worked fine? I am opening Organizer as Administrator. I have Windows 8. As a last resort I was going to re-install Elements 10 but I can't deactivate it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just received the wacom intuos 4 and find that the pressure sensitivity with CS4 no longer works I have gone into brush presets shape dynamics and set the first option to pen pressure but the shape of the brush does not show any change (eg tapering at the ends) Is there a special setting that must be used to activate the pen pressure effect with CS4. I never had to do tis previously.

I am cloning a photo... no problem... I changed the resolution, then the clone stamp doens't do anything. I changed the resolution back, still doesn't work.
I click on the color I want it to clone using the option key (I have a mac), then when I put it on the area that I want to change, nothing happens.
i have a cloud license for photoshop cs6 on the pc with windows 7. for my brush presets, color dynamics and dual brush (and some others) are grayed out. i cannot turn them on or off or lock or unlock them. I have one of the wet media brushes selected as i should but these items remain grayed out.

And just a few days ago when I started up photoshop, my transfer and shape dynamics tools were not working. I can tick them on and off, edit the sliders and such but it doesn't effect the brush like it should.
I tried re-booting the brushes and resetting the painting workspace but it didn't make a difference. I then uninstalled photoshop under the impression that if I re-installed it, it would load up photoshop with factory settings. But it just re-loaded the broken version I thought I had deleted and it has no icon now.
I have two documents, one with a larger canvas than the other. If I bring a layer from the larger document to the smaller one I end up with artwork that is off the artboard/canvas and invisible. I can see this artwork if I drag the layer around.
Is there a way to remove this content which is unused/unseen? I get the feeling that it is bloating my file sizes...
I'm running a copy of Photoshop CS2. Basically just using it for glorified paint for a board game im putting together for friends. I'd like to define some points which the mouse snaps to, so I can draw circles and lines with their centers or ends at the same place, so I don't have to keep nudging over to the center pixel by pixel. I'll be drawing some angles, so a compass would be helpful too.
maybe Im using the wrong software. If, perhaps, you know of a better tool for what I'm doing,
