New brush selected - the settings are strange.,Large spacing, scattering on by default Shape dynamics not responding in settings, only responds by clicking the "Always Use Pressure For Size" button Eraser not working on pen Updated CC, Updated Wacom Drivers, Restarted Computers.
Photoshop CS6 worked fine (still on my computer), but CC is just a nightmare with the Wacom brush settings.

Usually it automatically tapers the brush, but it just is staying round.

Nov 27, 2013Even when selecting a default brush my brush stroke is not at all similar to the shape (slowly widening and then tapering off 'ie default preset') even when shape dynamics is turned on, as you can see in the photo. I'm certain it's not due to my tablet, as the sensitivity works fine in other programs. I am currently using CS5.

I am trying to get a pen stroke that starts out thin...gets normal size in the middle...and then shrinks back down to a thin line at the end.
In brush dynamics... I am able to get a thin ending on a stroke but not a thin beginning. Im using the size jitter control set to fade at 300 to get a line that fades to thin OK at the end...but I cant make the beginning thin!
I am trying to stroke a curved path for Christmas designs...scroll kind of looks...thin beginning...fat middle...thin end.

May 12, 2012I'm using Photoshop CS6 tonight and I'm getting some weird behavior. The thumbs for Shape Layers in the Layers panel sometimes look right, other times they collapse into a tiny square.
if something is wrong. In the photo above, the "HERO" layer is how I expect a Shape Layer to appear. However, the "TOP BANNER" layer is the SAME THING. But for some reason the thumb has become tiny. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out if this is normal for some reason or what

Aug 16, 2007Is there any "view" that enables you to see the path/shape lines (not the fill, just the lines) that you have done in different layers?
I hate to keep switching opacity on and off to see where the other lines end and stuff.. I know you can turn of and on the paths with CTRL ALT H, but that is only for one layer.. and I want to see them for all the layers while Im working on one.

May 3, 2009I just received the wacom intuos 4 and find that the pressure sensitivity with CS4 no longer works I have gone into brush presets shape dynamics and set the first option to pen pressure but the shape of the brush does not show any change (eg tapering at the ends) Is there a special setting that must be used to activate the pen pressure effect with CS4. I never had to do tis previously.

Jul 18, 2012In Photoshop CS5 I created a long action list which include lots of Shapes. I saved these action sets and loaded them into CS6. and they kept failing saying they couldn't find layer "Shape 1" "Shape 2" etc . this is because in CS6 the layers are now called "Rectangle 1" "Elipse 1" etc . How can I get this to revert back to the "Shape 1, 2, 3, 4 etc etc".

Apr 26, 2013 I use modified versions of the standard round brush for my art. And just a few days ago when I started up photoshop, my transfer and shape dynamics tools were not working. I can tick them on and off, edit the sliders and such but it doesn't effect the brush like it should.
I tried re-booting the brushes and resetting the painting workspace but it didn't make a difference. I then uninstalled photoshop under the impression that if I re-installed it, it would load up photoshop with factory settings. But it just re-loaded the broken version I thought I had deleted and it has no icon now.

Apr 30, 2011the shape merge function (using cookie cutter) is not updating in the viewports when using nitrous? I am making a compound object using shape merge. I select a sphere (editiable poly), pick the shape (spline) and then press cookie cutter, and the vieport does not update. I have display result and update always on. Trid invert, etcetera. I cannot see the cutout portion in the viewport. When I render, the cutout portion is viewable.

Sep 12, 2013I'm new to working with GIS data imported into Civil 3d as shape files. I'm working on setting up base drawings for a new project area and I have a lot of data displayed as polygons with attributes. This is nice but I would like to be able to copy these to polylines on layers that I can have a little more freedom to work with.
For example the polygon boundaries are not exactly the boundaries that I need to show and editing the borders would be nice. Is there a better alternative to tracing the polygon boundaries? I have noticed when I extract feature geometry for line strings I get a polyIine I can use but the polygons' extracted geometry is a Mpolygon with solid fill.
Illustrator :: CS 5.1 - Shortcut Keys Not Working Properly In Shape Tools

Whenever I use a Shape tool for which the up and down arrow keys change its attributes, the up and down arrow keys skip several states. So for example, a star can go from 5 points to 12 points if I tap the up arrow key once, skipping 6 - 11 pointed stars entirely. It happens with polygons, spirals, and the flare tool as well.
I tried using a different keyboard, but the problem persisted. I also used my keyboard with another computer and Illustrator behaved just fine. So it's definitely a problem with the software.
Illustrator :: Clipping Mask Not Working - Shape Filled With Solid White
Sep 10, 2012I have created a compound path in illustrator and when I try to make a clipping mask, rather than revealing the image behind the path, the shape is filled with solid white. I am able to successfully make the mask using one shape or the other, but once I create the compound path, I just get this white fill.
I am in CS5 on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard). See screenshots below.

GIMP :: Brush Dynamics And RAW Images
Feb 19, 2013I've been trying to alter the exposure of a picture in UFraw - a CR2 Raw image - and then open it up in Gimp so that I can experiment with HDR, trouble is I get the above message each time I try. Not sure if I'm missing a plugin or filter.
Also, is there a way to make the brush Dynamics default so that it is set to "Dynamics Off." Each time I fire up Gimp the Dynamics have reset to Basic Dynamics even if I select the tool options, under Preferences, and set them to save on exit or save now.

May 7, 2012The brush dynamics matrix is all greyed out and there is no way to activate it. Maybe Im doing something wrong. I understand that you can either set the brush dynamics preset or set the matrix. Also the curve editor doesnt seem to be working either.

I seem to be unable to customize the pressure dynamics. All options in the mapping matrix are grey, and I can't do anything about the curves. I've tried copying the tool presets and changing my copies instead, but the only menu that becomes non-grey is the one with options like "Apply stored FG/BG", and changing options there doesn't unlock the mapping matrix. Illustrator :: Remove Circular Shape From Rectangle - Smart Guide / Snap To Point Not Working
Aug 6, 2013I am trying to remove a circular shape from a rectangle in illustrator, the retangles width is 10px and the diameter of the circle is 13px, I centre the circle ontop of the rectangle ( or I appear to) but when I use the Shape mode tool minus front, the circle is no longer centred ( see images).
I have tried switching off smart guides and snap to grid and am still having the same problem.
In the above image you can see once I have divided the 13px circle from the rectangle it has moved off to one side.
Also when I am trying to manually place the circle ( rather than using the centre guides ) I can only move it by a large degree it alway moves further than I move the mouse, could this be because of a pixel grid? I do not think I am using this. ( can see in the above image where I am trying to place the circle and when I let go of the mouse, the grey circle is where it lands.
From the 2 images below you can see that there is a 1px difference on either side of the extracted circle I was trying to get centered.
I should mention that the 'Align to pixel grid' in the transform menu is inactive when I am trying to do this, as I initially thought that this may be the cause of my problems, but it made no difference.
