Even when selecting a default brush my brush stroke is not at all similar to the shape (slowly widening and then tapering off 'ie default preset') even when shape dynamics is turned on, as you can see in the photo. I'm certain it's not due to my tablet, as the sensitivity works fine in other programs. I am currently using CS5.

Usually it automatically tapers the brush, but it just is staying round.

I am trying to get a pen stroke that starts out thin...gets normal size in the middle...and then shrinks back down to a thin line at the end.
In brush dynamics... I am able to get a thin ending on a stroke but not a thin beginning. Im using the size jitter control set to fade at 300 to get a line that fades to thin OK at the end...but I cant make the beginning thin!
I am trying to stroke a curved path for Christmas designs...scroll kind of looks...thin beginning...fat middle...thin end.
I simply cannot get the brush to taper with the preset or custom settings.

Photoshop CS6 worked fine (still on my computer), but CC is just a nightmare with the Wacom brush settings.
And everytime I change my brush settings in photoshop. it doesn't change anything. Everytime I turn off Shape dynamics the minute my pen touches the board it turns on!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a shape locked on the screen and can't unlock it.It is just a rectangle with 2 rounded corners. It has a strange shadow... I don't recall doing that shape ever, I was switching among Illustrator and Photoshop and in a second it just appeared.I tried many alternatives but still can't get rid off it. It is in every new file I make. It doesn't respond to zoom in/out. If I switch to outline view it stays the same, even with the shadow.I recorded a video.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just received the wacom intuos 4 and find that the pressure sensitivity with CS4 no longer works I have gone into brush presets shape dynamics and set the first option to pen pressure but the shape of the brush does not show any change (eg tapering at the ends) Is there a special setting that must be used to activate the pen pressure effect with CS4. I never had to do tis previously.

i have a cloud license for photoshop cs6 on the pc with windows 7. for my brush presets, color dynamics and dual brush (and some others) are grayed out. i cannot turn them on or off or lock or unlock them. I have one of the wet media brushes selected as i should but these items remain grayed out.

And just a few days ago when I started up photoshop, my transfer and shape dynamics tools were not working. I can tick them on and off, edit the sliders and such but it doesn't effect the brush like it should.
I tried re-booting the brushes and resetting the painting workspace but it didn't make a difference. I then uninstalled photoshop under the impression that if I re-installed it, it would load up photoshop with factory settings. But it just re-loaded the broken version I thought I had deleted and it has no icon now.
the Color Dynamics for my Brush Presets is Locked, how do I unlock it so I can use COLOR for my paintbrush, right now it is only painting in white!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to alter the exposure of a picture in UFraw - a CR2 Raw image - and then open it up in Gimp so that I can experiment with HDR, trouble is I get the above message each time I try. Not sure if I'm missing a plugin or filter.
Also, is there a way to make the brush Dynamics default so that it is set to "Dynamics Off." Each time I fire up Gimp the Dynamics have reset to Basic Dynamics even if I select the tool options, under Preferences, and set them to save on exit or save now.
I am having trouble with my tools in gimp. When I try to use the brush tool it says "no paint dynamics available with this tool".

The brush dynamics matrix is all greyed out and there is no way to activate it. Maybe Im doing something wrong. I understand that you can either set the brush dynamics preset or set the matrix. Also the curve editor doesnt seem to be working either.

I seem to be unable to customize the pressure dynamics. All options in the mapping matrix are grey, and I can't do anything about the curves. I've tried copying the tool presets and changing my copies instead, but the only menu that becomes non-grey is the one with options like "Apply stored FG/BG", and changing options there doesn't unlock the mapping matrix. This morning I was trying to get the color dynamics to work with the paint brushes. It seems that in 2.8 the "Color to Gradient" dynamics tool was taken out. (However, in the dynamics there are many cool options to choose from, just not gradient.) So getting frustrated, I searched the web after someone mentioned the "Color to Gradient" dynamics and I found this tutorial on creating a "Color to Gradient" dynamics from the dynamics editor.

I've been playing around with the pen tool and i was wondering whether there was a way of altering the brush dynamics so that when i stroke the path it produces a tapered effect i.e. so that the path starts as a point, grows thicker towards the middle, then tapers back to a point?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6, when you have a shape layer with a layer mask, and the two are not linked together, and the layer mask is selected, you should be able to scale the layer mask independently of the shape. What actually happens is the shape gets scaled and the layer mask stays untouched. In fact, even if you option-click on the layer mask to show the mask by itself, and then try to scale it, you still end up scaling the shape instead of the mask. Even if you go as far as to make a pixel selection of the layer mask and attempt to scale the pixels, the shape still gets scaled and the layer mask still stays put! Unbelievable!
This works correctly in CS4, but not in CS6 (don't know about CS5).
I have CS6 and LR4.3 installed (for a while). I am not not able to Edit In LR4.3 4 photos that I wish to make into a panorama. CS6 will start to the first window and then locks (Not Responding). I have uninstalled and reinstalled CS6 and delete the preferences, all to no avail.

I have started saving files back and forth between cs3( at school) and cs2 (at home) for a school project. All the sudden, as I was painting a background to place in my project (magic wand>move tool) my cursor becomes an hourglass, all panels become blank, and at the top is says Photoshop (Not responding). This has happened 4 times now and I have lost my work each time.

I only had the blue blox with text and the grey background, then it shut down.
