AutoCAD Inventor :: Limit Motion When One Part Touches (bumps Into) Another?

Dec 21, 2012

I'm using inventor 2009.

I haven't been able to find a solution but can't seem to locate in here in discussion groups.

I need to limit motion when one part bumps into another.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Rendering Animations - 30 Seconds Limit?

Jun 3, 2009

I have prepared an animation which is 50 seconds long. Now, i just want to render that animation, but i couldn't.

The problem is that if i select "Entire Animation" option for the time range, and click the "Render" button, i obtain just an image rendered (1 frame) and if i try to write the time range manually by selecting the "Specified Time Range" option, i've realized that it is not allowed to specify a value greater than 30 secs. When i write "30.1" for instance, the forecolor of the input box turns red, and a message appears if i click the "Render" button, saying "Invalid Expression!"

"Help" says, "You can adjust any value in the input box.", however.

I've solved the problem by making two seperate animations and merging them by using an other video editing software, but i didn't satisfy the topic. Is there a limitation due to "something" or am i doing something wrong?

Is it possible to get a Limit/Fit tolerance included in a Hole Note call out, such as H7 etc?

Currently, when I am dimensioning Counter Bore holes, I have to use a general dimension for CBore dia incuding the Limit/Fit tolerance and manually add the hole dia (or visa versa). This means I have to manually update any changes to hole dia.

Lightroom :: 5.3 Automatically Bumps Up Saturation On Import?

Apr 5, 2014

I did a quick screen capture, and as you can see, the picture on the right (saturated) is the "unedited" version in lightroom, and the picture on the left is the raw file opened (used IrfanView). As you can see, my original file is quite flat, and I like it that way (easeier to edit), but lightroom imports it, and when I click on it to develop, it adds saturation. If I wanted to make it look like the origianl, I have to manually bring down the saturation by ~ -30! Why is Lightroom auto adjusting my images?

I used a Canon 6D to take this picture.

AutoCAD Inventor :: 2010 - Limit Component Movement When Constraining?

Feb 13, 2013

Why is it that when you create the first constraint between any two components, the secondary component moves not only to satisfy the constraint, but also in ways that have nothing to do with the constraint.   This is not occasional behavior, it happens every time.

I always have to stop and move the secondary component back out of the way to get to the other features I need to reference to continue.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Allow Motion In Sub-assemblies?

Dec 20, 2011

In SW I was able to create assemblies that had components with limited motion and then set them as "Fllexable" and allow them to move in larger assemblies. How do I do this in Inventor? I have a trailer with both the front and rear axles able to pivot. These axle sub-assemblies are both able to pivot as top level assemblies but when they are assembled in the trailer assembly the only way I have found to allow movement is to make one axle active and move it then activate the other nad move it. This doesn't work well if there are several interdependant subassemblies that should move together. I am in Inventor 2012.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Assembly With Motion

Aug 8, 2012

I'm trying to make an assembly that would move. however I'm having trouble right now, when i try to move things by mouse, it seems they just go everywhere without respecting the constraints. At first i was using the drive constraint on the slider delete for the movement but it doesn't work either.

I am using inventor 2011 btw. Here are the files, assemblage.iam was working correctly but when i added the arms, they don't work ( assemblage2.iam).

AutoCAD Inventor :: Constraining Assembly To One Motion

Nov 12, 2013

When I rotate the drive shaft gear very slowly, the assembly follows the the correct motion path, (figure 1), however, when I rotate it quickly, the assembly snaps the linkages to an orientation that is not physically possible, but satisfies the geometrical constraints (figure 2).  I can't use contact solver because I am using the adaptive function for my sub-assembly to avoid having to re-constrain many parts.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Gears And Relative Motion

Nov 12, 2012

I'm trying to design a gear system wherein a small gear rotating on an axle interacts with a large gear, held on an arm. The arm rotates about the same axis as the small gear, in the opposite direction. I applied the relevant motion constraint between the two gears. When I rotate the arm, the motion of the large gear rotates the small gear. However, if I just rotate the small gear, it freewheels, and the large gear doesn't move at all. This is a problem, because the machine depends on the independent rotation of both gear and arm-- the small gear has an input applied to it, but if I try to rotate it it has no effect on the large gear. I assume this is to do with the fact that the large gear's axis of rotation moves with the rotation of the arm.

I can't just throw it all into dynamic simulation, because I don't know yet what kind of torques will be rotating the arm and the small gear-- I know how they rotate relative to each other in terms of degrees, but that's all.

Essentially what I need to do is make it so that rotating the small gear turns the big gear, even when the arm is free to move (when it's grounded, the gears turn normally). I thought about using a contact set, but the gears (generated by Inventor) actually slightly intersect at the teeth, so that doesn't work.

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Create A Motion Constraint

Mar 14, 2012

Attached is an assembly that I created. It includes a timing belt, 2 pulleys, 2 shafts, and some profile lugs that are attached to the belt with a false tooth.

1. why can't I constrain the profile lugs around the radius of the belt? Also, when I created the belt and put the holes in it, they disappeared because they ended up in the radius of the belt.

2. Is it possible to create a motion constraint to this model, so that it moves like a real belt?

Next I went to Studio and created an animation that went from one PR to the next. I am using the sequence like PR "A" to "B", then PR "B" to "C", then PR "C" to "D".

The trouble is in studio it does not work like it does in the assembly. Watch both videos to see what I mean. It is difficult to explain without being lengthy.

The video shown here is what I am trying to show in Studio. See the reply to this message to see my clip taken from Studio.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Unable To Derive A Part Containing Only A Block Into A Sheet Metal Part

Nov 15, 2011

I set up our company log which gets embossed on most parts as a sketch block in an .ipt.  The .ipt contains nothing but the sketch block.  To use it, the designer only needs to derive the Logo.ipt file into their part and then use the scale setting to set the derived block to the desired size for that part.  The result is a scalable set of line geometry that can easily be used for extrusion or emboss that is standard for all users.  It works beautifully, that is until you try to use it in a sheet metal part in 2012.

For some reason, when this same part, which works perfectly in normal parts, is derived into a sheet metal part an error pops up stating that, "Selected part does not have any geometry that can be derived."  Say what?

I was able to find a workaround by directly copying the block into the sheet metal part, but you no longer have the ability to go back and scale it if needed.  Even more strange, when the block was copied over, it could not be deleted from the new part.

Is this just a bug with 2012?  Why does it work in a normal part but not sheet metal?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Simplified Part - Assembly Won't Merge Into One Seamless Part

Dec 11, 2013

I would like to simplify this assembly into one seamless part for FEM calculation:The assembly consists out of parts that, in reality, will be welded together. Due to their form, there is no way to place them exactly onto each other, therefore there are slight gaps between the parts:

Now when I try to merge the assembly into one part via "simplify" --> "create simplified part" and choose "single solid body with seams between planar faces merged", Inventor does not fill these gaps (even though it displays only one part in the bottom right corner of my window). Unfortunately, the remaining gaps brings "contact" problems in the FEM simulation.

how to close the gaps and really merge the assembly into one part?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Can Part Make Alterations To Other Part When Inserting In Assembly

Mar 29, 2012

I have a part that has protrusions. When i mate that part up to another part that second part needs to have cutouts/holes to receive those protrusions.

i mainly use it in sheetmetal parts. and use the rectangular protrusions on de contour to mate up with corresponding cutouts in the other sheet. this works with positioning and also makes for a nice weld spot/area.

But also for making holes to accommodate a mold pin used in custom punch dies. I want the intervening part to receive a corresponding (propperly tolleranced) hole automatically. Much like a bolted connection does.

same for parts like circlips. i want them to automatically generate the seat in the part it's mated to. Rather than using the axle generator.

Ofcourse one can place the parts and do an in assembly interpart projection and go from there, but i want the part to generate the (predifined) modification to the other part. It would save time and also reduces problems as the parts are moved about or even removed.
