It seems the gradient tool will only go in a straigt line.
i've been using xara pgd for a few months now and absolutely love it. massive jump up from my old program which was very limiting (graphic design is a hobby / business necessity, not my full time gig).
so my first question to you good peeps: i've been trying to "bend" text to follow a radius using 'fit to curve' ... this has been problematic as the text wants to align itself at the end of the curve rather than the middle.
is there another way to bend text to a specified radius?
I can get curtain walling to follow a curve in plan. Is it possible to get it to follow a slope as well as the curve. i.e base curve of 25m dia and the top curve 20m dia at 6m high. the end result would be a curved sloped cutain wall.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is a brick-like pattern on a geological cross section I could draw this in manually but any way to do it automatically so there is a uniform horizontal distance between vertical separators? I tried creating a brick type swatch, but this created horizontal lines which did not follow the curve of the stratum.
View 12 Replies View Relatedi need to do a loop animation of several stripes that starts at lets say 2units distance from each other, they separate slowly and by the end they have 15units separation, my problem is that each stripe is a separate object, so i offset their keyframes, but when i want to tweak the keys on curve editor they dont apply to the other copies. Any other way to do this simpler?
quick example on the image attached, real application on the video, video shows the animation(rendered sequential images of 1 loop then applied as texture) but with linear speed, so constant separation, i need to apply the above here, these dont only move on the X axis but on the Y aswell, while keeping the symmetry fixed on the center.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe've encountered a huge problem with some JPEGs we retouched for print.Either directly after opening them in PS or after saving and closing the image (mostly the case) it's getting some kind of horizontal stripes / artifacts. Problem is, sometimes they only appear after saving the image, so we'd have to reopen every one a few times to make sure this error does not occur. Also, the images look abolsutely fine in the preview AND wehen placed in InDesign. Sometimes they're visible in the exported PDF, sometimes they aren't and we eventually find out when the product is already printed.
We're running CS6 on OS X 10.7.5 with newest patches and Updates. All images are HQ stockphotos from familiar sites.

I know it is quite easy to do in Photoshop, but I forgot how to do this. I want to replace green background in the top image to darker and lighter pink stripes to match the color of the website.
I've been going in the direction of:
1) Select color range (Pick green and just + the other shades of green to it)
2) Create Clipping mask from the Selection (I actually have all the green background on white and nothing else on the screen, but I am kind of stuck at this point)
Is there an easy way to create stripes, multi-color dots, etc?

I'd like to superimpose (overlay) an image onto a background image that is comprised of stripes on a white (or transparent) background. I don't want the overlaid image to appear between the stripes, only on them. Is there any way to do this without having to erase the overlay image where it covers the white/transparent background?
Example: imagine the red and white stripes of the American flag, and I want to overlay the text of the Gettysburg Address on the flag, but only on the red stripes, and the text itself is rotated at about a 15 degree angle to horizontal. Much of the text will, thus, be missing, and it won't be readable as a text, but that's exactly the effect I want.
Illy CS5, Windows 7 x64...When it happens, the multicolored stripes randomize if you hover your cursor over, or drag one of the sliders around.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a test font where the font changes to an opposite color than the stripe running 'through' it. Problem is I don't know if there is a specific name for this style, so all my searches have failed. I have attached a sample image and will explain.
The image has a phone cover with alternating red/blue stripes. There is a white cursive script font running vertical but the script is white. What I would like to try and do is make the script red where the stripe is blue and blue where the stripe is red. In effect, the font become a negative of the color it touches.

Vertical or horizontal stripes are no problem, but they are angled cannot get a seamless repeating pattern. I tried using snppaing 2 lines and running a blend between them, thinning the stroke is half in and half out so this should.how to do this with 8° rotation on the line?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had pink stripes occur on four different downloads on LR4. I have been an Aperture user for several years and was making the switch to LR4 but growing concerned with this issue and need to know what is causing it before I continue down this path. I have never had this occur before in Aperture. My hard drive is relatively new, my memory and storage is fine. I did switch to a different card reader to see if it would work.

I get evenly spaced white stripes in raster images (inserted via insert or ole) Vector lines and text appear just fine on top of the image. I've tried changing the spooler location and image quality to no avail. I have attached a scan of the output I am getting.
Both here and to Gimp. Tested it a bit on and off, but the breakthrough for me was the single window mode, so now I am currently making an effort to learn something.
My first question is actually about something I am failing to do with Photoshop CS4. I create a text, rasterize it, then create the stripes via the rectangle tool (in this case I am messing with different national colors, like Germany). Now so far so god, but I never get around to actually be able to merge the strips with the text. The closest I have gotten is to see the text behind the stripes, but then the strips also covers the space between the text. I followed this tutorial for that: [URL]......
I looked at Your Sweet Candy tutorial and, excluding some steps, seems to be relevant, but for step 15, where I do not want to select stripes available inGimp, but create new ones.
I want to draw hyperbola curve whose equation is x^2/a^2 - y^2/b^2=1. May I use equation curve tool to make the above hyperbola.
I have also made a hyperbola curve of aforesaid equation through conventional method on mathematical ground in the past.
I have ran an analysis and SSA gave me Error 607 on the report. It says "Inlet A9 gutter capture curve is not a valid curve."
A couple things I did different from the video lectures...
I selected user define for the Tc to figure out Q. i computed those manually.
For the Inlets I have selected Maximum Capture Cutoff.
There are some inlets in this model I created that do not capture 100% of the flow so i created conveyance links to account for the bypass flow. Not sure why is not recognizing the Curve?
Why in LR4 is the Tone Curve default set to Custom with a contrast lowering curve? I would like the default to be linear, but I can't remember how I set that up in LR3.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to apply the time remapping settings from my original clips to those that I've colored in DaVinci Resolve. I turned off all effects on my colored clips and graded the entire clip, not just the segment in my original timeline. My workflow thus far has been this:
1) Copy the original clip above the colored clip
2) Revert the speed of the original clip to 100 from where it was adjusted to (the speed of the original clips varies from 500% to 1000% across the timeline)
3) Turn off Time Remapping on the original clips (this is done by deleting all keyframes)
4) Find the In and Out points of the original clip through timecode
5) Set the In and Out points of the colored clip to those of the original
6) Make another copy of the original clip and set it to 100 but don't turn off time remapping
7) Copy the time remapping settings of the original clip to the colored clip
8) Convert the colored clip to the original clip's speed (usually between 500% and 1000%)
Now, in several cases this works, but in others it falls apart at Step 3. When we turn off time remapping, the original clip gets grey stripes over it in the timeline and we cannot see the footage in the Program or Source viewing monitors. We have tried reversing steps 2 and 3, but when we do that the clip gets shrunk down to 1 frame and we lose the original In and Out points.
Can I create A B-Spline curve and a NURBS curve in the Adobe Illustrator?
If yes, how to do it?
Also, how to create a breakpoint, that will add a new control point, on a curve, in Adobe Illustrator?
Any Illustrator equivalent to Photoshop’s Displacement Map?
I need to be able to horizontally displace an area of vertical stripes using a specific greyscale displacement map.
It’s fairly simple in Photoshop but I would much prefer vector output.
O.k., I could do it in Photoshop and then vectorize the result with Live Trace, but is there a less roundabout method?
