In CS6, I am trying to apply color to the Canvas with the Mixer Brush, though it is not working. I am using Wet, Heavy, Mix brush and I select Blue as my foreground color, the color is showing in the toolbox and up above in the options bar, though when I paint it just seems to smudge the colors on the canvas. What is wrong with my settings?.
View 3 RepliesI'm comparing the CS5 & CS6 mixer brush, with moist, light mix, right now...At first I wondered why the CS6 mixer brush was slower, until I realized that it looks like the actual brush stroke in CS6 is more advanced. The CS6 stroke looks like it's calculating the overlapping brush strokes & it's interaction with the texture more accurately to real life.
I haven't read any articles on improvements to the CS6 mixer brush. Has it actually improved or are my settings just different in CS6 from CS5? since I'll probably need to work with "Sample All Layers" unchecked when working with the CS6 mixer brush.
The CS6 mixer brush stops painting and turns into a hand icon, with only the index finger out, when I paint near the top left of my screen. It's about 3 inches from the left and 2 inches from the top.
I don't have this problem in CS5.5/CS5.1 or CS5 . what the hand icon with only index finger out is for? It's not the move tool icon. I should also add that I'm using Win7 and a Cintiq. and I should add that the standard brushes don't have this problem in CS6.
A path automatically goes basic(1) weight when any brush is applied to it. Is there any way to avoid this?

I have various web pages (about, contact, blog, etc) each in its own layer group. So it's very difficult to select all headings - I need to open all layer groups and search specifically for headings.
If I could put a tag on each heading, and then apply a single color change to all layers having this tag, it would make things so easy ?
I draw a rectangle and colored it with green then i wanted to give some effects by double clicking on the layer. Then opened a window named layer style. When i tick the box "gradient overlay", appears a gradient effect bu color of the image changes from green to gray. How may i prevent this change to gray. I want my stay rectangle green.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI open a .dng file which was in greyscale. Then converted it to RGB. Applied the effect Graphic Pen. Added a new layer, fill it with red, changed mode to Overylay, and when I tried merging down, or saving as a jpeg, it converts the image right back to B&W. I even tried changing my brush to red and Overlay mode, it just won't let me color the image at all. I've tried hue/saturation, and when I try to save the adjustment, it converts right back to B&W. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of prepping individual components of a design for Flash animation. I'm trying to apply a layer of #7C6844 with the color effect at 56% opacity and a layer of #999999 with the color burn effect at 12% opacity to the foreground image which has a transparent background. This task has proved to be rather impossible for me, but it seems like there should be a way to do it. I would use the wand tool > select inverse and apply the colors over top that way, but the foreground image has a lot of leaves and branches, so that method would be extremely tedious.
Is there a way I can select the entire image as a whole and leave out the background?
I'll attach the image and the desired result to further assist.
Hi, I'm having some issues with my brush. It won't brush any other color, I select different colors on "set foreground" and "set background" colors and no matter what I select it brushes white. Does anyone know why?

I am sourcing icons from various places and trying to tweak to suit my needs. Tweaking involves removing or adding an element and applying a consistent color scheme. I am wanting all my icons to be a particular shade of blue.
The problem I'm facing is that some original icons are lighter than the other, so when I apply a color scheme although the color changes, they don't look to belong from the same family. How can I apply color scheme of one icon to the other?
I seem to come unstuck when I apply colour using the 'Stroke Path' option. Basically I need to know if there's a way of determining the opacity of the stroke line? In some cases I don't need to have such a 'dense' colour. I want to see a little of what I've 'painted over' so as to keep some of the detail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a collection of color groups, that I am applying to grouped objects, but every time I change out the color group, it randomizes the order which the colors are applied.
In the kind of bulk work I'm doing, its really turning into an hours burner.
The specific process I'm using (I've tried several different ways with the same result)
1) Draw my art
2) Group the art
3) Create a new color group with my art selected.
4) Double click the color group and recolor.
5) Save the swatches ----- so far so good
6) Double Click a different color group (or select from the Recolor panel) -- here the other color group (swatches) get applied, but every time I do it, the order of which color is applied to
Today is the first day with Lightroom 3, where I have over 200 photos from an event, that I am walking through each photo. I am in the develop module and I am setting the color label to red or blue. What seems to be constantly (not every time) happening is when I click the color for the label, LR will move to the next photo, but not apply the color label.
As I write this I'm trying it out to notice a pattern. What I see is photo 1, I click on the red label and the photo is labeled red and LR moves to photo 2. I click on the red label and LR does not set any color label and moves to photo 3.
Another thing that happened is I was then at photo 3 and clicked on the blue label. LR did not set the blue label but jumped to photo 4 and put the blue label on that photo
How to change the keyboard shortcuts for applying Color Labels to photos? I have Keyboard Tamer, and I was able to remove the shortcuts for applying star ratings, but there seems to be no way to change the commands in Photo > Set Color Label.
See, many times a day I will click the white balance color temperature fileld and start typing "5500" only to then realize that the click on the entry field didn't activate it and I have now inadvertently changed the ratings and/or label colors for several photos. Super frustrating to then have to undo a bunch of times, especially when I'm viewing based on rating and/or color label, because photos can spontaneously vanish from view.
I have just installed.
Photoshop CS4 Extended as part of the master suite.
I have also CS3 on the same PC.
Now the channel mixer doesn't show the sliders for tint (hue and saturation); the same happens on the B & W adjustment window.
I try to run CS3 (shortcuts or the program itself), CS4 comes up instead.
With these settings, I think that I should get the same result with the red channel of the original image ... isn't it? But, it is different from the red channel .

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm doing RGB retouch I'm often converting the image to CMYK just to use the Channel Mixer in that mode. I can never seem to get the hang of channel mixer in RGB to the same result, I guess I just understand CMYK plates better.
Is there any way of seeing the CMYK slider in RGB mode?
I have converted the same image from color to black and white using the channel mixer and using the black and white adjustment, and there appears to be a slight, almost imperceptible, loss of sharpness in the image converted with the channel mixer. Is there any research showing that a loss of sharpness will, in fact, occur when using using channel mixer when converting color images to black and white?

i have photoshop set to: use graphics acceleration, drawing mode advanced, opencl. When I'm using the mixer brush and with the brush set to sample all layers, depending on brush size, I experience a large lag in rendering. When doing this, my CPU usage is around 10% and disk usage is also low so I'm assuming the graphics card is the bottleneck here.
Images are from a 21MP canon 5dMK II, 8 bit files. I can replicate the problem with a single background layer and mixing/smudging on a 2nd transparent layer set to use all layers.
I'm a user of CS5, on a MacPro.
I was so disappointed with the amazing slow response when trying to use the Mixer Brushes; fine when using small files, suitable for web, but when working with larger files intended for large printing, it was painful!! Have the people at Adobe sorted the problem out with CS6?
When using the brush tool what is the difference between using the brush in color mode on a normal layer vs using the brush in normal mode on a color mode layer?

Just now while attempting to edit a Channel Mixer adjustment layer's creation dialogue settings, about 15 browser windows (not tabs but individual windows) trying to load Adobe docs all popped opened simultaneously.Killed Firefox's process and went back to PS.Every time I went back to PS though, it would happen again, when I clicked in the Channel Mixer settings.
Got out of the loop by mashing the ESC button as I switched back to PS, which successfully killed the Channel Mixer dialogue.I've seen this behavior in PS for about 4 versions now, but never this severe. How dysfunctional.

View 4 Replies View Relatedwhy I'm having trouble with VSX5 Pro's "Sound Mixer?" It isn't working, and I don't know if my issue is one that has been reported already, or not. In my timeline (under 'voice track') I have an audio file which I separated from the main video file. The main video file is now 'muted' so that only my voice track plays the sounds. Note: I copied the same voice track and pasted 3 copies of it only to lengthen the overall playtime, but they are each on the same voice track.
The problem I'm having is that the volume adjustment settings don't work. After selecting the first segment on my voice track, I then move the slider up to maximum volume (from level 0 to 12), and then I right-click on it to save it as "default," but it ALWAYS jumps back to volume level zero (0)! It does the same thing even if I don't "right-click" and save it. The setting never stays where I want it to. What else can I do to increase the volume of the sounds on my 3 segments in my voice track, and have them stay at level 12?
EDITED: Also, is there some way I can save/export my "voice track" to an external sound file and/or convert it into a different sound format? I haven't seen a way to do that.
