I have New iMac and processing works fine. However, 90% of the time I get a "circling wheel" for 2 to 5 minutes when I save or rate a photograph.
View 4 RepliesInstalled Elements 10 on Win 7 64 bit laptop that is plenty powerful.Created a shortcut to launch Elements directly from the directory it installed in. It can take several minutes to open, if it does. Have tried Run as Admin, no difference. Sometimes nothing happens and I have to try several times to get it open. Once open I went to Preferences and turned off all Media Analysis, and all Third Party things and anything else that might be slowing it. Only imported about 50 files into the album, and it still takes so long to open I can't tell it is even trying.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen i want to print a photoshop document it takes a long time for the dialogs box to show up and from there on every click takes five minutes for photoshop to react. It might hasve something to do with a print pofile I installed for a dye printer but I have deleted tha printer and stil have the problem. May-by som way to reset the printer prifiles but I have no clue on how to do this.

X4 works fine for me on my 2yr old Vista 64bit quad machine with 8gigs except that it takes almost 5 minutes to boot up so I can use it.
The application boots up to the edit screen than I just get the busy signal for the next 4-5 minutes. Task manager shows it is not responding. Works fine after that.
I also have X2 and it works just fine. If I make any changes to the uncataloged folders or file format exclusions under preferences in X4 it does the same thing (5 minites wait) untill the changes have taken affect. With that in mind I believe its a cataloging issue. Once its up and running its no problem. This is a trial if that makes any difference.I have tried the reset while booting it up ( hold down the crtl & alt keys) and that causes the program to crash after I select okay from the reset menu. The program is reset though after reloading it.
I don't use a graphic card and can not get GL 3.0 support or higher if that maked any difference like it does with Corel DVD movie factory which won't work on my computer.
Today I have a lucky day by finding the reason why X4 saving project costs minutes each time I do. I bought special to be as fast as possible a Medion Pentium 5 SSD harddrive computer and installed the Videostudio software all on the SSD drive to get as much speed as possible for editing, rendering, etc....But last few month it did take minutes to save a project each time I did and could not find the reason why. I did change directories and locations on the harddrives and lots of other things to get it good to work, but now I have found the reason, it is the smartsound track what makes the problem. Without smartsound music everything works ok with saving projects in seconds.
Other Thing what makes problems is the 15 minutes limit for youtube in videostudio. I have more than 90 movies now at youtube, but have to upload them outside videostudio because their lengt of more than 15 minutes.Some movies are more than one houre and at youtube goes everything well without any problems.
Also with LR4.1 the problem with avis (Canon Powershot Ixus 95IS) is not yet solved onm my system (AMD 6 Core, Win7 64Bit, 8GB RAM, ATI HD 5770 graphics card).
AVIs don't play when I want to start them in my LR3 converted catalog. Importing avis in a new catalog doesn't work at all. But the worst thing is, if you try to import pictures in a catalog already containing avis (or if there any avi is present in a folder you want to synchronize) it takes 10 minutes.The processes dynamiclinkmanager and dynamiclinkmediaserver are blocking the import for several minutes.
I have a 16GB Raster that we use for Design/Proposal purposes. Is there anything I could do to potentially improve load time or is this something I'll just have to live with?

LR4 takes 10 minutes or more to import 3 pictures. Importing these pictures in LR3 takes a few seconds.I did some checks: Using a new catalog (and not the converted one) and importing a sub folder of my picture directory has no effect. It takes also very long.
Importing a sub folder without videos is fast! But even if the videos are already imported (because of using the LR3 converted catalog), when adding new pictures to a subfolder it takes again 10 minutes. Importing videos in a fresh catalog does not work at all (they are only available if you convert the LR3 catalog) (Canon Powershot Ixus S95)
I have also a problem with playing (the LR3 catalog converted) videos. The video control bar does not react. After some minutes there is an error message that there was an error trying to work with the picture.
I am using windows 7 home edition and lightroom 4.1, and since the installation of the new version things slowed down.

When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?
I have several tutorials call for a flow rate, using the paint brush. I do not see a flow rate drop down box or any other sign of flow rate adjustment in my PSE10. Could there be a hidden tool somewhere? where the flow rate box is?

In addition, I use SSD that writes 530MB/s outside Photoshop. According to these specifications it should save 5 images within one second. But it doesnt.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with saving files in my Illustrator CS6 (64bit), the saving process is too long, 5-10 minutes of wait and my laptop is getting iffy while saving. Sometimes Ai crashes in midst of my work or saving and I loose hours of work.
My laptop: CPU Intel i3, 8GB RAM, 1GB Nvidia Graphics, 480GB HDD, Windows 7 Premium 64bit.
I tried fixing the problem so far (unsuccesfully obviosly) by doing this:
1) Running all updates
2) Uninstalling excess fonts, I only have 180 fonts currently
3) I do not use FontExplorerProX or similar.
4) I turned off compression option during save.
5) I turned off making PDF copy option.
Same Ai on a much weaker PC in XP SP3 32bit has saving time of few seconds. This issue was nonexistant when I first installed Ai, but as time goes by its getting worse and worse, it seems.
When I have images placed in Illustrator, even just a few small ones, Save takes much longer..so long that it can be 20 seconds before I even see the progress bar, and after that the saving actually happens.
Is there a way around this, or are we stuck wtih mind-numbing save times when we have raster elements placed in Illustrator?

I have been unable to change the frame delay rate using Photoshop Elements 9 on Mac when trying to create animated gifs. Does it work on later editions of Elements?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using several resizing and sharpening batch processes which have saved a resultant file at the end with a different name. In the Batch process an original folder was selected and a destination folder and the file name changed with a different custom prefix. I have been using these batch processes with no problems for years. Without warning I have noticed that all of these batches are no longer working and the end result is one file in the destination folder, ie it must me overwriting. I have tried to recreate the basic batch process again and have resorted to using both 'save; and 'save as' at the end of the process in different test batch processes and the same result happens pretty much each time, the one file after the original folder had 5 images. I have noticed that 'Save as' is not showing up in the actions of the batch process (only shows as 'Save' irrespective if you selected 'save' or 'save as'. It is like Photoshop is refusing to accept 'save as' with a new file as a valid action. I have also tried to check the override 'save as' box etc. If you edit normally in Photoshop and 'save as' for that image, there are no problems .
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn older versions of PSP, auto-save would automatically save a copy of the work in progress every X minutes (depending on what was set by the user) and overwriting the previous version, including the original if not working on a copy of it.
In PSPX4, auto-preserve added the functionality of saving a copy of the original to avoid overwriting it, but it also has autosave setting.
Questions :
- what does the autosave do except save the image when changing from Edit to Manage to Adjust?
- does autosave automatically save a copy (even if overwriting) of the work in progress?
- if so, where do we set how frequently a save should be?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSaving InDesign files to a network location seems to take an extremely long time during which I am unable to do anything else inside InDesign.I know that this has been an issue for me for at least 2 weeks (since March 3, 2014, possibly earlier). I am not certain whether I have updated InDesign since then, but have consistently been experiencing this same problem.
Today I ran some tests (all using the same ~20MB file).
Save from InDesign to network location: 12 seconds
Save from InDesign to desktop: <2 seconds
Copy file (in Windows Explorer) from desktop to network: <2 seconds
Copy file from network to desktop: <2 seconds
I know I can work on the file locally and copy my saved versions out at the end of the day, but this was not necessary before, and I don't know what changed to make this take so much longer than it used to.
Current system configuration: InDesign 9.2 x64 running on a Win 7 Pro 64-bit with 16GB RAM and a Xeon 3.6GHz processor.
I plan to shoot timelapse with two supposedly identical camera setups and stack images from the two cameras. Unfortunately the two lenses turn out not to be quite identical, so I need to correct/map images from one camera to match the field of view of the other.
A test showed that Photoshop's auto-align procedure can do the mapping sufficiently accurate. So now what I want to do is to have Photoshop calculate the mapping parameters once, then apply that projection identically to a batch of images. What I really hope to avoid is for Photoshop to recalculate the mapping separately for every single frame, both because it is a huge waste of time but also because the exact same mapping really should be applied to all images. Is there a way to do this, CS6?
