X4 works fine for me on my 2yr old Vista 64bit quad machine with 8gigs except that it takes almost 5 minutes to boot up so I can use it.
The application boots up to the edit screen than I just get the busy signal for the next 4-5 minutes. Task manager shows it is not responding. Works fine after that.
I also have X2 and it works just fine. If I make any changes to the uncataloged folders or file format exclusions under preferences in X4 it does the same thing (5 minites wait) untill the changes have taken affect. With that in mind I believe its a cataloging issue. Once its up and running its no problem. This is a trial if that makes any difference.I have tried the reset while booting it up ( hold down the crtl & alt keys) and that causes the program to crash after I select okay from the reset menu. The program is reset though after reloading it.
I don't use a graphic card and can not get GL 3.0 support or higher if that maked any difference like it does with Corel DVD movie factory which won't work on my computer.
Today I have a lucky day by finding the reason why X4 saving project costs minutes each time I do. I bought special to be as fast as possible a Medion Pentium 5 SSD harddrive computer and installed the Videostudio software all on the SSD drive to get as much speed as possible for editing, rendering, etc....But last few month it did take minutes to save a project each time I did and could not find the reason why. I did change directories and locations on the harddrives and lots of other things to get it good to work, but now I have found the reason, it is the smartsound track what makes the problem. Without smartsound music everything works ok with saving projects in seconds.
Other Thing what makes problems is the 15 minutes limit for youtube in videostudio. I have more than 90 movies now at youtube, but have to upload them outside videostudio because their lengt of more than 15 minutes. Some movies are more than one houre and at youtube goes everything well without any problems.
Installed Elements 10 on Win 7 64 bit laptop that is plenty powerful.Created a shortcut to launch Elements directly from the directory it installed in. It can take several minutes to open, if it does. Have tried Run as Admin, no difference. Sometimes nothing happens and I have to try several times to get it open. Once open I went to Preferences and turned off all Media Analysis, and all Third Party things and anything else that might be slowing it. Only imported about 50 files into the album, and it still takes so long to open I can't tell it is even trying.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAlso with LR4.1 the problem with avis (Canon Powershot Ixus 95IS) is not yet solved onm my system (AMD 6 Core, Win7 64Bit, 8GB RAM, ATI HD 5770 graphics card).
AVIs don't play when I want to start them in my LR3 converted catalog. Importing avis in a new catalog doesn't work at all. But the worst thing is, if you try to import pictures in a catalog already containing avis (or if there any avi is present in a folder you want to synchronize) it takes 10 minutes. The processes dynamiclinkmanager and dynamiclinkmediaserver are blocking the import for several minutes.
Is Kaspersky Anti-Virus interfering with Gimp start up??? ever since I installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013, Gimp takes more than 20 minutes too start up, it searches for data files for more than 20 minutes straight before my image is opened in Gimp ever since Kaspersky was installed!

- AMD 6 core CPU
- 8GB Ram
- Win 7 64bit
- AMD Radeon HD5770 graphic card.
LR4 takes 10 minutes or more to import 3 pictures. Importing these pictures in LR3 takes a few seconds.I did some checks: Using a new catalog (and not the converted one) and importing a sub folder of my picture directory has no effect. It takes also very long.
Importing a sub folder without videos is fast! But even if the videos are already imported (because of using the LR3 converted catalog), when adding new pictures to a subfolder it takes again 10 minutes. Importing videos in a fresh catalog does not work at all (they are only available if you convert the LR3 catalog) (Canon Powershot Ixus S95)
I have also a problem with playing (the LR3 catalog converted) videos. The video control bar does not react. After some minutes there is an error message that there was an error trying to work with the picture.
I am using windows 7 home edition and lightroom 4.1, and since the installation of the new version things slowed down.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if there is a lisp that would run every time I run the hatch command? I have autosave on, but I never remember to do a good clean save before I run hatch. I remember as autocad locks up and crashes! I would like a list that would prompt me to save when I hit hatch with option of yes, save or cancel. is this a tall order?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSome time ago Lightroom started freezing, it didn't matter too much what screen was involved. I'd be editing a photo or even doing something outside of lightroom and lightroom would become unresponsive and wouldn't display the current image etc.
It would allow you to close it, however the process would stay open in the task manager. No matter how one tries to close the tree or process, it totally ignores these requests and requires a reboot to resume work. This also happens while using photoshop with lightroom open - the two programs freezing in tandem.
I have tried doing memory checks on the drive with no problem showing, I have run registry cleaning / ccleaner and so on. There is no spyware or viruses operating. The reliability monitor does not show these crashes. I am unaware of anything that was installed or uninstalled or when this specifically started happening.
There have been a few driver power state failure blue screens while using lightroom (although nowhere near as many as the simple freezes). Unable to diagnose the problem with this I uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom. I have tried both 4.4 and the new 5 in the hope that maybe something was fixed. My display drivers I am pretty sure are up to date also.

I've migrated from 2005 to 2014 LT and wondered if they have added to the hatch commands. I've looked and haven't found anything. Is there a command that you can pick a hatch pattern already shown on the drawing and make that pattern the existing one to use? I sometimes have multiple hatch patterns and scales, and wanted a quick way to go from one to another without lisp help.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI made a Photoshop® script (action) which works perfectly. (Open .PDF files in Photoshop®, to after save them as .JPG files into another folder)
The problem comes when I launch a batch process. It takes a while to the computer to open the large .PDF files, and when a file is opened, well it doesn't go through the whole script. In fact, Photoshop® already open the second file and so on. Then without running the rest of the script/action .
We have 10 MB DWG file containing Electrical network Map with 25,000 customer numbers as block attributesIn AutoCAD 2013 LT the searching of above block attributes using “FIND” command is very very slow (almost 2 to 3 minutes to perform the search)Also the closing of “FIND” windows takes lot of time“FIND” command was working fine in earlier version of AutoCAD 2008 in same computers (Dual core PC, 2 Ghz, 2 GB RAM)

I can obviously re learn where everything is... but it takes multiple steps to get to a command that I used to be able to access in one click.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAnnoying time spend waiting while acad automatically detects hatch boundary? - usually a boundary of some sort, thats completely useless anyway.
I'm seeking full control and want to select the boundaries myself and hope some of you can tell how to switch off or avoid this automatic process of boundary detection that usually follows "h" ↵ ( "hatch" ↵ or "bhatch" ↵ ).
I am running Inventor 2012 sp2.
Even with a simple IPT that only has a handfull of features, at times it takes a long time (3-5 minutes, sometimes longer) for Inventor to execute a undo or redo command.
Undo file size setting in Application options is set at 1MB (which is teh same setting I used in previous versions).
I've used AutoCAD 2013 on other machines and have no had this issue.
When pasting to the command line there is a huge delay from when I hit CTRL-V until the actual text is displayed in the command line. It takes roughly 4.5 seconds for the following to display after pasting: (command "-view" "D" "*"). The time it takes is roughly the same and does not depend on the size of the lisp that I'm pasting.
The command bar is docked to the bottom and there is no transparancy enabled.I have tried setting AUTOCOMPLETEDELAY to 0 and 10 with no change.I have completely disabled all Auto-Complete options and it still happens.
There is also a significant delay between Auto-Complete populating the list of suggestions and when I am able to use the arrow keys to move the selection box down to pick a command.

I'm trying to use the hatch command on a drawing. Everything seems to work fine, but when I hit enter after having used the hatch command, selected pick points etc. nothing happens on the drawing. There are no error messages.
I can use hatch without problems on other drawings so I suspect it has something to do with the drawing or I've overlooked a setting or two.
when trying to input the bearing in degrees minutes and seconds I have to input (for example) 89%%d49'38". how do i change it so i can input ddmmss?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a .dwg that displays a tumbnail of a corridor that I created. The file is large, 123MB, however when it is opened the vast majority of the drawing does not exist. As in with all layers turned on nothing appears, the surfaces do not show up in the prospector, nor does the corridor or any assemblies. The drawing is far too large for what is in it, there is one surface and minimal layouts. Additionally the mouseover previews for the layout tabs display correctly what should be there, however when the layout tabs are actually selected, they are blank. Restoring from backup does nothing. Attempting to purge etc. does nothing. Attempting to insert the entire drawing into a blank drawing causes autocad to crash with a memory read exception. (That tried on multiple machines with identical results.) I'd say that everything got deleted, but the file size indicates otherwise. cntrl-A finds nothign other than what I can see and select normally.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a file that looks like it is going to open nice and fast and then it gets stuck at 50% synchronizing references. It literally takes over 5 minutes for the file to come completely up and ready to work on.
In the file I have an existing ground surface data reference and two corridors (with alignments, profiles and profiles views) that are basic access roads roughly 1200' long each with a very basic assembly. I also have a pipe network data referenced that is just a bunch of pipes that represent existing utilities crossing the access road so I can show them in cross sections. The final thing I have in here are 50' cross sections for each of these access roads.
why does it take me 5+ minutes to get into this file?
I face new problem in using solid hatch command ,when I choose poly lines and use hatch some unwanted lines appears inside hatch area which make my shape separate from others part be meant be unify. View 1 Replies View RelatedInstead of a window popping up with the hatch settings, I just get the following in the command prompt:
Pick internal point or [Select objects/settings}:
what might be causing this?
When in the hatch command in 2012 I go to select the layer I want to use, but only some of them appear in alphabetical order, and the rest seem to be all over the place making it quite difficult to find the layer I want. I've tried increasing the maxsort figure, but it makes no difference. How to make them appear in the correct order?
