I have been using PSE 10 on my MacBook Pro with 4 GB memory (RAM). Today I upgraded to 16 GB but PSE still displays available memory as 3072 MB. What can I do to make it use the extra memory?

I've checked my computer and the memory is 'registered' and recognized by the system. Everything seems to be fine but when I go to CS4 Preferences it still lists my available RAM as 1645 (old 2GB figure). How do I get Adobe to see my new memory?

I found similar posts for Draw X6 stating that it might be a 32bit/64bit problem. Woud that be the case for X5 too?

And, same if I try a jpg or a tiff file..only there, PSE 11 does not even come up a s an option to open with. In all cases error reads...NOT VALID WIN32 application.

I wanted to add another note. I added my new note, but it does not show up in the browser. I can right click on the note note > Display note and both notes are shown in the engineering notebook. When I exit out of the notebook and go back to Inventor, still not there. Here is a short video of what I am seeing.
[URL]. The "Rev B" noteis the original one and Note 2 is the one that I just added.
Now I if I add another note, then all of them will show up in the browser. This is not the first time that I have seen this, but just thought I would bring this up.
This part was just made with a copy design from Vault. What is weird, is that if I go to the part that this was copied from and add the note, it shows up correctly then. Its like something is getting hosed in the copy design process.
Plugin filter works only in 32 bit and when I open an image and click on the filter I get an error message - Memory Access Violation.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have sceene with about 100 objects with about 100 hairs assigned to each of them (using max fur/hair), mr renderer. After rendering the same frame 4 times, max crashes.
I do the same thing again; this time with task manager on, and I see that the memory consumption increases with each new render.
so after
1st frame-4 gb memory usage
2nd frame-8 gb
3rd frame-12 gb
4th frame-crash (no more memory).
I concluded that the max is not purging the memory after end of each frame.
to be sure I tried a few tweeks to make the correct diagnossis.
1st -override all materials to pure white
2nd -turn off all illumination/GI in scene
3rd -geometry caching on/off
and it still happens.
Once I disable the hair/fur the render is done instantly without any memory inflation; however, the memory use still stays on the same level as before I disabled hair.
As for the fur/hair settings, they are default. and I did try setting the "voxel resolution" to 1, tried changing the sampling to draft, and tile memory ussage(70,180, 500)., but how this affects anything, or what's the correct way to determine the ideal value.
Also, I encourage the "buffer" hair type over mr, and geometry, since buffer hairs look a lot "fluffier" and smoother than the other types.
Can video files be added to a slide show in Elements 5 or 10?

It is shown as "locked" with a padlock. Then I open an image file (.jpg) to add to the background layer, and I get a message that I need to unlock the background layer so I click to unlock it. However the added image locks onto the background layer and doesn't make a new layer. If I open another image file it locks on top of the others.

Then I click on the PLAY button, nothing happens. I've tried it a coule of times, saving under different filenames. What gives? in one case I rendered the file, no difference.
A big waste of time so far. I did convert some video clips from a .mov format and the worked fine on almost any DVD player but I I am trying to make a slideshow for a web page and nothing is working.

When using Photoshop Elements 11 and try to open the Card Reader to import images, the Card Reader isn't even listed among the various drives attached to, or within, my computer? How can I fix this? View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Canon SX30IS. When I use PSE9 to download from memory card, if there are any videos present on the card, the Photo Downloader crashes.
I believe that it is something to do with Apple Quicktime. When I uninstall Quicktime , PSE downloader does not crash while importing media form this camera, but cannot play video clips. On reinstalling Quicktime , the PSE downloader crashes while searching the memory card for media.
I have not upgraded PSE twice now because of this crash. What makes it worse is that Apple Quicktime is a very poor media player, managing about 2FPS on the video clips from this camera when both the Canon and the VLC video codecs can manage 30FPS.
I would much prefer if I could choose to use a video renderer, like using any available Windows codecs rather than insisting on using annoying Apple software.
I am using corel x3 a long time but never, never had this kind of problem. When i work in corel enviorenment after i have finished my work i go to save my work. But then is the problem It Saves the file with Large Memory on it. let's say if the file normally would be 200 K, now it saves with 3 MB. And if i import some other files in my work then the saved file will be even bigger. If i Delete the files that were imported The Saved File will be Again the same SIZE ! Even if a take one part of the file, let's say if i import only one small text and put it in another file and save it like that, the saved file will be 2 MB. I had a lots of problems, i had saved files on this way with 23-24 MB and when i open them it takes like forever. When you look that file in corel it has nohing in it, absolutely nothing that should be 24 MB. But all of my important work is in that files how to make all things back to normal again,
View 9 Replies View RelatedI do have problem with my newly installed CorelDraw X5. Before X5 we used Corel 12 in our company.
I have project file (150 MB) with lots of text, bitmaps, vectors - about 100 pages. File opens but I can't save it. I always get OUT OF MEMORY error. I even tried to divide this file into 2 smaller parts but still doesn't work.
What I noticed - Corel X5 after clean start (without opened project) takes about 80MB of RAM in task manager. When I open project usage changes from 80MB to 1,2GB. While saving it takes 1,6GB of RAM and it crashes.
To compare - Corel 12 and after opening same project file Corel 12 takes much less of memory - about 770MB and it works without problem.
Where from comes this memory usage difference?
