3ds Max :: Tell It To Clear Memory After Rendering
Oct 1, 2012i only have 4 gb of ram in my machine which means that when i render out image sequences of an animation the renderer stops rendering after a certain amount of frames because the RAM is full, which isn't a problem since i can just start rendering again at the last frame rendered. However, Max doesn't seem to clear the RAM memory even after it has stopped rendering, which means that I have to restart Max everytime the renderer stops because of a full RAM to be able to start rendering again.
Since max has quite a long load time for me, I was wondering if there's a setting or something that makes max clear the part of the RAM memory the renderer has filled up after the rendering stops?

Jan 14, 2013I have a issu when i use BindXRef. I have 4 XREF in my dwg. so i use à Do / While for each XREF i have found. It work fine but whrn the Xref is big File, i have the issue "Out Of memory".
So the question : How i can Force the GC to clear all memory not used. My Think is to force the GC to Clear the memory before to use BindXRef() with only one XRef before to BindXRef with another.

Paint Shop Pro :: X6 Perfectly Clear Plugin Short Of Memory
Sep 5, 2013I just installed PSP X6 Ultimate 32 bit and the Perfectly Clear Plugin. It works really well part of the time but will often crash saying that Photoshop is not allowing enough memory. I'm using Windows 7 with more than 3 gb of memory. I also have Aftershot Pro running.

Feb 26, 2013Say I have a model and some layouts in a file.
I open the file to the model. My RAM usage is about 33%. Next, I open the first layout and my usage climbs to 43%. I open the second layout and my usage climbs to 52%. I open the third layout and my usage climbs to 62%.
I can go back and view the layouts already opened marginally faster then when first opening them, and my RAM usage will not increase.
If I continue to open new layouts, my computer will spend all its RAM holding these and freeze. My computer will suspend graphical processing and be forced to run on sips of RAM until all active commands are finished. But RAM usage will never decrease.
I have been working with my Windows Task Manager open in the corner, watching this happen. This way, I can save and close the file to clear the RAM and then proceed to reload the file and continue working on my file with 34 layouts.
I do not know if it is a function of storing the UNDO functions, or just how the program is designed, but this is a problem for me.
QUESTION
Is there a way to clear the UNDO or layout memory without closing and reloading the file? I do not have to close AutoCAD - just the file.

I started with TM, browser, and AutoCAD open (I had already started writing this post)
I opened the file to the model.
Opened up 6 layouts (you can see the bumps)
Saved (you can see the tiny rise)
Closed the file, but not AutoCAD (precipitous drop ;] )
Lastly, I reloaded the file.

Jun 20, 2003Im creating a label for my CD, and I created the images with PS7 & then imported them into coreldraw in EPS format to do the text. (I heard that vector programs create cleaner, crisper text than bitmap programs,and my fonts are between 8 - 10 size). I added my text & some vector clipart then printed it directly from CorelDraw & the text & clipart was super crisp but the imported image was gritty, so I exported the entire file back into PS7 in Corel EPS format. I printed it in PS7 & the reverse happened: The image was nice & clean & the text was gritty. Am I importing/exporting in some wrong fashion, or there a way to have both my images & text come out crisp & clean?

Jun 27, 2012I have sceene with about 100 objects with about 100 hairs assigned to each of them (using max fur/hair), mr renderer. After rendering the same frame 4 times, max crashes.
I do the same thing again; this time with task manager on, and I see that the memory consumption increases with each new render.
so after
1st frame-4 gb memory usage
2nd frame-8 gb
3rd frame-12 gb
4th frame-crash (no more memory).
I concluded that the max is not purging the memory after end of each frame.
to be sure I tried a few tweeks to make the correct diagnossis.
1st -override all materials to pure white
2nd -turn off all illumination/GI in scene
3rd -geometry caching on/off
and it still happens.
Once I disable the hair/fur the render is done instantly without any memory inflation; however, the memory use still stays on the same level as before I disabled hair.
As for the fur/hair settings, they are default. and I did try setting the "voxel resolution" to 1, tried changing the sampling to draft, and tile memory ussage(70,180, 500)., but how this affects anything, or what's the correct way to determine the ideal value.
Also, I encourage the "buffer" hair type over mr, and geometry, since buffer hairs look a lot "fluffier" and smoother than the other types.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Improve Error Of Closure Of Parcels
Aug 9, 2012Is there a way to improve the error of closure of a Parcel. I have one Parcel that has an EOC of 0.0161'. That's a little higher than I like to see. I understand that some of this has to do with the precision of the analysis. But with bearings to the second and distances to the hundredth, I'd like to think we could do better than that.
I suppose that if I changed the POB the closure might improve. But I want the POB to be the closest corner to an existing monument.

May 14, 2010After looking at reviews, I took the big step and bought the download version of Photo Pro X3, which got me a 2nd download file called Photo Essentials 4. Installed X3 first, then PE4. I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled 'till I'm blue in the face. X3 looks like a good product, at least with the little I've done so far. But . . .
When I start Photo Essentials, which opens as Photo Project Creator, I get nowhere. Step one: selecting what you want to create works fine. However, on the screen where photo selection should be made, I only get the Desktop and My Computer icons, and My computer won't expand.
After 2 days of frustration, I decided to install ONLY Photo Essentials 4 on my wife's PC to see what happened. It opened with a screen that said Photo Essentials 4 at the top, and something that would allow me to paint over the top of a picture. Doesn't even resemble what opens on my PC.
Both PC's are running Windows XP Media Ed. I've noticed apparently similar problem with Windows 7, but is this really just the norm? I tried the cure I found elsewhere in this forum, by shutting down certain processes, and deleting everything within Digital Studio, but it didn't change anything.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Hole With Project Edges Doesn't Move
Jan 1, 2013In an assembly i project a circle. I use the new center point with the hole wizard and save the assembly and the parts.
When i move the original circle the hole doesn't move with it, and when i try to edit the hole's sketch there are no dimensions. So, i cannot move the hole.

Oct 23, 2012How to changes the settings for the "Square Area" in mapcheck's closure summary. When I right-click the dwg name in the Settings tab of Toolspace and choose Edit Drawing Settings, then Ambient Settings, I see the Area settings, but in the closure summary, there is also "Square Area". Why are these both there? It WOULD be nice to show sq. ft. as well as acres, but I can't find anywhere to edit it.

May 6, 2011I am using corel x3 a long time but never, never had this kind of problem. When i work in corel enviorenment after i have finished my work i go to save my work. But then is the problem It Saves the file with Large Memory on it. let's say if the file normally would be 200 K, now it saves with 3 MB. And if i import some other files in my work then the saved file will be even bigger. If i Delete the files that were imported The Saved File will be Again the same SIZE ! Even if a take one part of the file, let's say if i import only one small text and put it in another file and save it like that, the saved file will be 2 MB. I had a lots of problems, i had saved files on this way with 23-24 MB and when i open them it takes like forever. When you look that file in corel it has nohing in it, absolutely nothing that should be 24 MB. But all of my important work is in that files how to make all things back to normal again,

Nov 4, 2011I do have problem with my newly installed CorelDraw X5. Before X5 we used Corel 12 in our company.
I have project file (150 MB) with lots of text, bitmaps, vectors - about 100 pages. File opens but I can't save it. I always get OUT OF MEMORY error. I even tried to divide this file into 2 smaller parts but still doesn't work.
What I noticed - Corel X5 after clean start (without opened project) takes about 80MB of RAM in task manager. When I open project usage changes from 80MB to 1,2GB. While saving it takes 1,6GB of RAM and it crashes.
To compare - Corel 12 and after opening same project file Corel 12 takes much less of memory - about 770MB and it works without problem.Â
Where from comes this memory usage difference?

Opening the overall project and running it on screen is not a problem. However, when I try to create a smart package of the composite project, I get a consistent error message rejecting the process because of the existence of the component vsp's.
