Photoshop :: Cannot Create A File When That File Already Exists
Aug 8, 2013When i try to use Photoshop filters: Adaptive Wide Angle, Shake Reduction and Liquify. An error pop up saying "Cannot create a file when that file already exists".Just one detail: The liquify filter doen't pop up the error right away, the error occurs just after i press the "ok" button to accept the changes.
I have already tryed to Reset the preferences, tryed to reinstall the PS, Update the PS, download (and install) the latests drivers to my pc.My Pc fit in all the requirements, have the openGL version: 3.0
I also have Photoshop CS5 installed, in which the liquify filter works perfectly.
The first image is just right before a click the "Adaptive Wide Angle".
The second one is right after i clicked it.

Apr 2, 2013Our company does not have the funds to upgrade so we are stuck with CD12. I am using using a windows 7 /64 bit machine. I created this xml template for the writers to place place their graphics in our author software.
I have 4 layers on my file - grid.guide,desktop and template. The template has the instructions and size dimensions. I have them put all graphics on the high lited desktop layer then when this is complete turn off the template layer. One can print this file with just the graphics showing with no problem.
However if I export this a PNG file both the template and desktop layers show up even though I turned off all layers. I just want the desktop layer with the graphics to show up. I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and this doesn't present a problem when saving the graphic as a PNG file.

Dec 11, 2006I created a 5x7 publisher file with some text and a motif I designed in Photoshop and inserted into my publisher document. Now I am ready to create the final piece in Photoshop. Help! I have the graphic saved in various file formats, and want to import it into my 5x7 Photoshop document I've saved. I clicked on Transparent because I want the off white of the paper to show through. The graphic has a transparent background in psd format. I saved it as a pdf file and tried to import it, but that just opened another window. I just want to be able to place the image on my 5 x 7 page, then type in the type!
Also -
I will be sending it to my printer who has requested it in CMYK format. Do I design it in RGB and convert?
My printer will be printing it at 600 dpi. When I open a new file, it only gives me the pixels/inch.

I was able to use PE12 to create a turn my photo into black and white, where the buildings and such are black and the sky is white. At this point, I want to delete the sky portion of the photo and save the buildings portion (only) of the photo as an svg or a jpg file. I was able to save this as a jpg in PE12, but only with the white background in the file.

Photoshop was working fine on this same computer earlier, but one day decided to stop working.Can't even access the Adobe Chat support for CS5 even though I paid them a lot for this currently 100% useless software.

Jan 14, 2013Every time I create a new file from the Editor or delete a file either from the Editor or from Organizer, the program just sits there for at least 35 seconds before I can go onto to my next action. I really would like to clean out some old pictures but everytime I delete a file, I have to sit there and wait.
I have 8 GB of memory, 32 GB of free disk space and a catalog that takes up 73 GB with 29,000 pictures.

May 16, 2012Am using Photoshop CS5.1, Simply want to create a single picture (file) that has a "built-in" mat around it. Seems like all that's needed is a box in background (color it as a mat), then put the picture on top.
Problem is, when I go to size (or crop) the picture, it changes the size of the mat and Canvas Size. "Really" want the Canvas Size to STAY 16in x 20in, just makes it easier so can SEE and adjust (move, crop, slide arund) the picture to be 13in x 17in in the center or whereever. After all done, will save as jpg, so can view/print easily.

Mar 26, 2012We have two related issues we're trying to solution.
(1) If we create a blank Photoshop file ("template") that is merely a size, resolution and color profile, when we add an image (that does contain metadata), the image's metadata is not retained in the template metadata. We need to be able to transfer that image's metadata, automatically, to the template. (We do not want to have to copy/paste.)
(2) Let's say we now have a template with 1 image and associated metadata. We now need to add another image(s) to this template and have the second image's metadata also transfer automatically. (This auto-transfer of metadata would occur for any subsequent image added.)We are using CS4 v11.0.2.

Oct 24, 2013To make things easier to understand, I'll explain what I do: our sports' photography department makes photos of several sports teams, we print the photos, we put them in a basic two-sheeted album, and then send the photos to the team. As we print all the photos together, they are on a big pile and it's very difficult to sort them with the correct team name. So we take the printed photo, and compare it to all the team photos on the computer, which have the team name in the file name. So this is a very inefficient and slow process.
I was thinking of printing the photos as thumbnails on a sheet, and THEN compare them to the printed sports' photos. It's a lot easier to have a piece of paper with e.g. 10 photos to compare to than browse them on a computer.
So, again, I hope there's a way to let Photoshop put 10 thumbnails on a single sheet, and put the file name below it. All automatically (with an action?) of course.

Under the properties on that folder 'full permission' is checked for everything. All of the images that have been processed are saved into that folder as well.

Oct 24, 2013I'm trying to create a bmp file from my xcf file (Gimp OSX 2.8.4). I do this by exporting it and choosing bmp as the file extension. When I look a the new image in Mac Preview, it looks OK. The image displays properly and the file type shows "Windows bitmap image" as its kind. All seems well...
However, when I try to use this file in OpenGL, it renders in green (its an image of natural wood). So what's up? I go to the command line and type "file wood.bmp" and the response is "wood.bmp: data". It should say "wood.bmp: PC bitmap, Windows 3.x format, 128 x 128 x 12" (or something similar).
Somehow this file has not been created quite correctly.
