how to create/save a custom New File preset for a particular page size, resolution, color space, etc. But how do I save one that includes guides, similar to the default video presets that contain Title Safe/Action Safe guides?

Im trying to create a new paper size preset in PS CS6. I was told if I went to my PS folder, I will find a folder named presets. Inside that folder there should be a text document called "New Doc Sizes.txt" but it's not there. where I might find this text file in a presets folder?
I have a C drive, but my folder for CS6 is on my D drive. I use Windows Ultimate 7 x64.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have to process about close to 400 pictures every weekend which takes a lot of time when doing levels and everything on every individual picture.
I need to create a preset that will do just that on 400 pictures but will make adjustments based on each individual picture's needs. I have tried to work on 1 picture while have the rest selected and Auto Sync selected. But what it does then is to apply the same values on all selected pictures and not "auto" for every individual picture.
I have lots of vector text objects to add to my graphics. When I add a vector text object by default "Stroke" is selected and the "Fill" color is set to the current background color selected in the Materials palette. Is there a way to change this so that by default "Stroke" is cleared and the fill color is always black regardless of the current background color selection?

If possible, perhaps a command, relating to the routine above, that can be placed in the short-cut menu (right-click), which will list the preset views (made by the user), and be selectable.
The approach is instant view change, where it is possible to apply the command, then reapply to go to another view.

When I load an image either a jpeg or psd file then make a layer copy I am unable to apply a preset action to this. Either a default action or one of my own on a Mac OSX running Lion. This did not present a problem in CS5 and I am wondering if I've missed something basic?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on the schematics of a quite big document and I am using Illustrator. I work on the .ai version of the figures but I want to save them in a very quick way as pdf files with personal setting (super compression, no preview...). What I am doing now is that I have my .ai file open, and when I want to save a pdf version of it I go to "File" then "Save a copy" then "Type: pdf" and I enter a name, I click on "Save" and a window pops up with some options. Here, I select a personal preset and then click on "Save pdf" and I am happy with the final saved pdf.
The thing is that it is a quite long process when you have to do it several times per figure. I tried to automatized it through a script (or action) but the available options are quite limited (it is hard to make Illustrator understand that if the current file is myfig.ai, I want a myfig.pdf and that I want to save it in the working folder). Under "File", I also tried the "SaveDocsAsPdf" script but once again, I have to select the folder where I want to save the figure and so on. Maybe I missed something. Any efficient way to save my figures as pdf by clicking a the F9 key (for instance).
I have several Illustrator JavaScripts that I've written with the ESTK. A lot of these scripts involve resizing the artboard or artwork to specific sizes. Instead of forcing the user to manually input the dimensions they want into text fields, I just stored a half-dozen or so "presets" in an array.
Then they can select one of the presets from a dropdownlist, or go ahead and input a custom size. These presets are the same for multiple "resize" scripts, so it would be nice to store those presets in a separate file (i.e. presets.jsx) that my resize scripts could reference, so when I need to add or change a preset, I could just go to that one shared file, and all the scripts would be updated.
Is it possible to do that? If it is, a quick example of how to load the variables from another file.
When i try to use Photoshop filters: Adaptive Wide Angle, Shake Reduction and Liquify. An error pop up saying "Cannot create a file when that file already exists".Just one detail: The liquify filter doen't pop up the error right away, the error occurs just after i press the "ok" button to accept the changes.

Our company does not have the funds to upgrade so we are stuck with CD12. I am using using a windows 7 /64 bit machine. I created this xml template for the writers to place place their graphics in our author software.
I have 4 layers on my file - grid.guide,desktop and template. The template has the instructions and size dimensions. I have them put all graphics on the high lited desktop layer then when this is complete turn off the template layer. One can print this file with just the graphics showing with no problem.
However if I export this a PNG file both the template and desktop layers show up even though I turned off all layers. I just want the desktop layer with the graphics to show up. I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and this doesn't present a problem when saving the graphic as a PNG file.
Before I run this on Autodesk Inventor 2012, any possible problems that I might have with the following VBA macro code?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt used to be that in creating Photoshop work for video, you would start with 720 x 540 and then re-size down to 720 x 480 to correct for the square vs. rectangular conversion.
Now I see that Photoshop CS seems to have various presets for new files but I'm not sure if the regular DV (720 x 480) and others will work straight away without the conversion process.
Is there any way to load more than one brush, patter, custom shape etc. at a time in the preset manager? I have about 300 brushes and I just dont want to do load them 1 at a time.

Now I am ready to create the final piece in Photoshop. Help! I have the graphic saved in various file formats, and want to import it into my 5x7 Photoshop document I've saved. I clicked on Transparent because I want the off white of the paper to show through. The graphic has a transparent background in psd format. I saved it as a pdf file and tried to import it, but that just opened another window. I just want to be able to place the image on my 5 x 7 page, then type in the type!

I was able to use PE12 to create a turn my photo into black and white, where the buildings and such are black and the sky is white. At this point, I want to delete the sky portion of the photo and save the buildings portion (only) of the photo as an svg or a jpg file. I was able to save this as a jpg in PE12, but only with the white background in the file.
