I am Trying to create a pdf from cad file. I have a dxf file on my desktop, i right click, click on "convert to adobe pdf" .... and nothing happens.
Is the file going somewhere I cant find? Not converted?
I have a script that makes PDF-file with suffix revision. Now I want to expand this script so it even makes a STEP-file of the 3d-file connected to the drawing. This would make all manufacture files in one button. That should be nice..
How will i manage with this since the active document is the drawing not the part. (see code below)

Our company does not have the funds to upgrade so we are stuck with CD12. I am using using a windows 7 /64 bit machine. I created this xml template for the writers to place place their graphics in our author software.
I have 4 layers on my file - grid.guide,desktop and template. The template has the instructions and size dimensions. I have them put all graphics on the high lited desktop layer then when this is complete turn off the template layer. One can print this file with just the graphics showing with no problem.
However if I export this a PNG file both the template and desktop layers show up even though I turned off all layers. I just want the desktop layer with the graphics to show up. I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and this doesn't present a problem when saving the graphic as a PNG file.
Ever done customizations and then made buttons for them in the cui/ cuix will have noted the extended help file option under the properties window?
Its hectic even understanding what's going on, I originally thought that a chm file was used but the only file it allows for selection is a xaml file. Nice crack open the old vb.net and create an xaml using the WPF option at startup compile it then link it in where just discussed in AutoCAD. still doesn't work? Now though I need to have an xaml file to display an image as part of the help file.how to create one??

An error pop up saying "Cannot create a file when that file already exists".Just one detail: The liquify filter doen't pop up the error right away, the error occurs just after i press the "ok" button to accept the changes.
I have already tryed to Reset the preferences, tryed to reinstall the PS, Update the PS, download (and install) the latests drivers to my pc.My Pc fit in all the requirements, have the openGL version: 3.0
I also have Photoshop CS5 installed, in which the liquify filter works perfectly.

I want to know how to make my own hatch from design till puting it in (*.pat) file. for info, I know how can I download such file and upload it in AutoCAd among (CUSTOM) or (OTHER PREDEFINED) hatchs as wel, or make it by using (SUPER HATCH in express tools). But to creat PAT file that what I want to know.

i work in an office with 15-20 pc's using autocad LT, and because sometimes users missplace files, and/or working in wrong folders sometimes it gets really hard to locate those files.
so i would like to know if there is a way to create a log file on the server where all pc's can have access and inform that log file whenever an autocad file was open and/or saved.
(the path from plotting is not an option for us since we need the plotted drawings to be clean from irrelevant things to the outside contractors/builders etc)
I'm using AutoCAD Architecture 2012. I cannot get the darn thing to create an Etransmit file. I'm sure it is some setting that I'm missing, but for the life of me I can not find it! It runs everything just like it is creating the file, but when everything is done, there is no file. I thought maybe it is creating the file somewhere that I didn't tell it to create the file at, but I can't find the file any where on my computer.
what I'm doing now is closing out 2012 and opening the file(s) in 2011 and creating the etransmit there, because it works. Is this a bug for 2012?

.dxf file contains 3D contour lines.
when importing it to Autocad 3D 2013 is shown as a colum instead of a 3D model.

My target: in AutoCAD pops a dialog, select filename (related to our internal projects) string, then it will create a DWG file from a template DWT file. Then some operation like insert elements into the DWG file and then SAVE (with the filename assigned).

Well it doesn't work on either of #1-4
#1 give out "eFileInternalErr" exception, which I found the answer - you can't call save() if it's open from exist file
#2 works ... but it just save the contents we write to the database but won't save template file contents, ie. we have put in layers inside the template file but they doesn't save to the new file
#3 give out "drawing is busy" error, no clue why it's "busy" ...
#4 give out same error as #3
I have Inventor Professional 2013 (student). I can't open new file, if I try to the program crashes and closes and try to send an error report. Can't install update/patch (DL20857064_32-bit.msp or inventor2013_sp1.1_x86.msp), says program not installed/or can't gain acces to the HKey. I have admin rights, I have tried re-activating, repairing, re-installing, uninstalling and reinstalling, to the point i had to request a new activation code but it's still not working.
I have attached a file with error messages and my system, which should be ok according to the system requirements.
When I use my autoCAD at the office to create a Sheet set file I allways get the message "Unable to Create a sheet Set file". Is there a way correct this problem.I am using AutoCAD 2012 on a network. I have tryed to create sheet set files on my local C: drive and other drives without any luck.

When I use the 'Send to 3D Print Service' button I select all the solids to get printed. I get no error message but the 3D render of the part has bits missing. See attachment.
I tried to create a 2d section of a 3d dwg file (imported from Revit)
It kept giving me a message "There are no solids or surfaces that can be projected."
What is the reason of it? It's a 3d dwg file exported from Revit.
Also, can you generate a 2d section thru the xref.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Autocad drawing that I would like to take to a CNC machine to have it physically built out of extruded polystyrene. I do not want my drawing to be used without my permission or modified.
Is there a way to watermark it or to transform it to a read only file allowing the cnc machine to extract its parameters but not allowing any action upon the file (copy,modify et c.) ?
PS: I have started building my own DIY polystyrene cutting tool out of an old soldering pistol, piano wire,vice, clamps... but it will take some time before I finish building it and there is a chance I might mess up the first few shapes; I need the shapes as soon as possible.
