I am trying to send some parts to get printed in 3D.
When I use the 'Send to 3D Print Service' button I select all the solids to get printed. I get no error message but the 3D render of the part has bits missing. See attachment.
A couple parts that I moved from one subasy to another in an IAM are not showing in the associated IPN browser at all. Yet they are visible in the edit window & look as if they have tweaks applied. I can click on & highlight them but there is no sign of them in the browser at all.
The parts are definitely in the browser of the IAM file though.
Inventor Suite 2013 Ultimate
Was working on a small project for college yesterday and now when i try to reopen the document a good chunk of the frame i constructed yesterday is missing.
The sketches are still there though the extrusions are missing.
I have an assembly file I made in Inventor 2011 that I published to DWF. When I view it in Design Review 2013 not all the parts are visible. If I zoom in on the area that they are suppose to be, they magically appear, but can't get a good view of the whole assembly that way. This trick doesn't work for all missing parts. I have tried to hide/unhide the missing parts, but that does nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been working with an assembly today where it is ideal to mirror parts and have figured out how to reuse the parts rather than create new parts. Now I find that when the parts are mirrored, they ate not retaining the mates. Where do I find the setting so they either retain their mates, or prefferably retain the mirror so that if I move the origional, the mirror moves as well?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was making some pieces in Inventor 2013, and a lot of them had similar bases, so I would just use the derive button when I started a new piece, and just make changes to the old piece. I later saved the files as .stl 's to print them in the 3D printer. when the computer hooked up to the 3D printer brought up the pieces, the parts I had derived from the original were missing.

I have completed my drawings, converted them to PDF(image 1) and when i print the PDF out, there are parts of the drawing missing as image 2 shows. If i plot direct from autocad, there is no problem with the print.
View 3 Replies View Relatedin dwg's made from an assembly i someties see that the view does not include all parts. To add to the mystery, a projected view made from the base view that lacked the component(s) view can still include the part. The missing parts are not reference parts, and can sometimes be parts of a subassembly.
The attached pdf shows an example:
- view B and C show a horizontal ground plate not visible in the base view
- the projected view shows components visible in the area of detail D, which are not shown in the base view
- near section A-A there is a component missing of which a second item is shown on the left side of the base view.
Switching the hidden lines on shows the missing components, but these should not be hidden at all. No settings are altered for the views to include/exclude components. No parts are set to reference. And no design representations are used.
Whe i bin the views and start over again, the same thing happens to the same components. However, if i bin the whole DWG file and start over, the parts are present...

1. Valve with Actuator
2. Stud Bolts with Nut
3. Angle bar
4. Objects (Clamps)
I wanted to show an ISOMETRIC cross sectional view of the said assembly. I noticed after doing it so, that there were missing standard parts/objects.
How do I make them visible on the cross section ISOMETRIC view?
I am trying to generate a parts list that will contain a stock number from the BOM.
When I go to customize my parts list I cannot add a stock number as it's not on the list of properties available.
Is there any chance to add other properties? (i am aware that I can add a custom property but it won't be linked to my BOM.
As you can see, there is an entire face of the pipe missing. When I highlight over it (2nd picture) it thinks it is there. This has happened on lots of content center parts. There has been a few issues where this has happened with some of our downloaded user content (in our custom content center) even to the point of disappearing entirely.
This has happened across multiple (identical) machines. However, it doesn't seem to be reproducible on demand.

We have a pipe part list that we have based of our own catolgue and it work fined in our template in 2012 and how we have upgraded to 2014 part of the list does not appear in the drop down selector see the screen capture attached? and figured out what caused it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed it on a new computer, deactivated it on my other, and re-activated on this one.
Alot of the layer functions (overlay, soft light, etc.) don't seem to be working at all, they have the faded gray font that wont allow me to click them. Also I can't save images as png's or jpegs. Alot of the filters are experiencing the same thing.
I have encountered this issue in a pdf file that I generated using my R (statisitcal language) scripts. The file contains 3 smoothed but wiggly lines where parts of a few lines vanish when I open the pdf file in illustrator. Opening the same pdf in any pdf viewers turns out perfectly however. I need to further edit the pdf file for publication purposes, so having parts of the plot missing makes this a headache. I've done other plots before with R, which can be edited in illustrator perfectly.

I am needing to create some new parts with miters that will reflect how they will be cut on our tube laser. I have attached a part sample that someone else has created. How to change this into a part that will work for me, so I'm wanting to start brand new.
I am needing the surface of the miter to be perpendicular to the material all through the miter. How would I accomplish this?
I was wondering if you create the parts then assemble them. Or can you create and assembly then break out the parts? I am just testing inventor out to see if it would be good for my company.

Is there a tutorial for importing 2D AutoCAD geomtetry and using it as a basis for your 3D sketches? I'm sure in a demo somewhere I saw someone using 2D layouts to quickly start creating 3D geometry from.
To clarify i'm not referring to the add-in in AutoCAD Labs but the actual process to do this using Inventor tools.
I'm currently using the "Pressure Pipe" app in Civil 3D. The thing is, I need to create pipes that are smaller than 100mm (that's the smallest pipe in the catalog). Specifically, I need 50mm and 75mm diameter pipes, parts and accessories. How can I create them?

Unfortunately task scheduler only exports to solid models, not images. How to achieve this via macros, VB or iLogic. The process would go something like:
1) open (each) file
2) turn 'all work features off' (not essential but it would be nice so work planes don't show up in the thumbnail)
3) go to 'home view'
4) zoom to extents or zoom all
5) 'save copy as' to a set location (not same location as part or assy) with file name of "<PartNumber>.png" (not same as original filename)
6) turn 'all work features on' (if we managed to turn them off)
7) close (and repeat process for the remaining parts & assy's).

Is this possible? The pipe should be able to bend either horizontally or vertically like any HDPE pipe. Any HDPE library?
My other question is once I have the layout of the pipe is it possible to calculate the trench excavation and backfilling?
After reading the documentation for IV 2013, I'm not sure if it's possible to create a midplane between parallel faces of two different parts or not. I've tried using the workplane buttons in both the 3D Model and the Assembly tabs with no joy.

I created several Parts with the Shaft Generator, and from one moment to another it always says that it can't update the part file with the new shaft when I press Ok.

I have 5 separate .ipt's that were created within a major assembly. Is it possible to generate a subassembly of those 5 separate .ipt's within the major assembly keeping all the constraints?
OR
Do I have to start a separate .iam file and import each .ipt and regenerate the complicated constraints all over again?

The line marked below throws the following error: The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG)).
As you may see, I have allocated memory for both "Edge" and "Face" (Dim oEdge1 As Face) albeit one is commented out. Attached is the screen shots from the attribute helper add-in. In it, you will notice that the attributes are of type: "Face".
