Photoshop :: CC 3D - Placed Bitmap Image On Extruded Surface Goes Nasty When Rendered
Jul 19, 2013The extruded face with System Copy on it has gone really nasty. It looked great before I rendered it! which I daren't render.

View 3 RepliesThe attached csv file contains x,y,z coordinates and the image number per row (only 1 in this file). I am reading in this file and creating a spline knot at each of these points. The last coordinate x,y,z set closes the splines and creates a shape that resembles a US state. I next extrude it a couple inches and it looks like a hollow 3-D state.
My question is how do I go about capping (or filling) the top and bottom faces? I have a feeling it is a bit more complicated because of the large number of knots, around 127, in this shape. As every time I try and follow the cap surface instructions in the reference it doesn't do what I want. Is there any way to automatically or by using a script join the vertices so that it looks like a mesh grid on the top and bottom and then fill in those areas?

I need to create a gold bar in the shape of the map of Texas that looks 3D. I need it to look real. I have a pic of a gold bar with the embossed 999.9 and the serial number. I have taken an outline of the map and extruded it so it looks 3D. I cannot figure out how to fill the extrusion with the bitmap. I want to wrap it so it looks like real gold on the front and sides with embossing undistorted. I am using Draw X4.

I can only sketch on one section the upper and lower sections it won't allow me too.
The top should be offset to the right but I am unable to draw the sketch onto the fame.
I am trying to create a 3D meshed surface from an irregular shaped solid I created using firstly a SPLINE, FILLET, PEDIT, and EXTRUDE. I have a solid in the basic shape now, but I am trying to create a meshed top and bottom (x, y, z,) to change the contours of those surfaces. I have looked at 3DMesh but it asks for (n,M,) coordinates like it is a regular shaped surface (square, rectangle) where one can calculate the required even spacing needed.
My goal is to create in CAD something like a fine art carved piece of wood, with irregular shaping and no straight planes or surfaces.
I have included a basic picture in JPEG format for your review. This is the item from which I am trying in ACAD 2010 to construct into a usable adjustable form so I may parametric for my needs.
I'm constructing a simple test track for my university project, and I have managed to get the geometry of the track all sorted. I'm struggling to assign a bitmap image of a 4 lane road surface to the track. When I assign the material all I get is a grey surface with no lane markings. I figured the size may be wrong, but I have tried adjusting the size settings in the co-ordinates roll out in the material editor, with no luck.

My photoshop skills aren't bad however my rendering is hopeless. I wanted to get this printed on a tank top.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI made this image a while ago and I can't remember quite how I did it. What I can remember is that I used rendering clouds and adding noise, channels, and changing the color at some point. I did most of it from this video: [URL]....
But I didn't do everything from it, I tweaked something, it may have been the lighting rendering.
The reason I want to recreate this is because I need a version of it in higher quality. It's supposed to have a rock texture look to it, and I made it look golden.
how to replicate this.
Using Inventor 2014 for some very simple (just a few component) models. When I use Studio to render an image, two objects are shown with a "cross" on them. The parts are nothing but extruded circles--nothing to them, so it's not clear to me why there are lines on their surface.

I always thought that the pixel size of a bitmap image was driven by the resolution of the file. I have recently found that this isn't so.
Here is my situation:
I have an existing bitmap that when I zoom in to 1600% and measure the pixel size is .003". I don't have access to the original greyscale the bitmap was created from, and going back to greyscale, blurring, re-rezzing and converting back to bitmap is not prefered.
What I am looking for is any suggestions on how to change the pixel size of an existing bitmap. I am re-sizing several so they are all placed at the same size and I want all of the pixels or spots to be the same size.
I am updating my CUI ribbon for some of my customized buttons. I have changed some of the bitmap images that I have saved in my network folder for the network AutoCAD customization. However, I cannot get the Ribbon to update to show the new button images.
I have opened the CUI, browsed down to the partial CUI for our corporate configuration, then to the "Ribbon", then to the "Tabs", then to the individual section of the tab and clicked on it. Then I click on the specific button in the "Panel Preview" pane to get the properties for that button to show. Then at the bottom of the "Properties" panel, I click on the "Small Image" line to see the three dots that allow you to browse to where the .bmp is stored. I have not renamed the bitmaps, but just modified their color and the way they look. So I have to change the .bmp file to a different location in the small image properties, then change it back to the correct image name. It will update the appearance in the "Panel Preview", but will not update the actual ribbon. I click on "Apply" and "OK", and it still doesn't update the actual ribbon. I have tried closing and restarting AutoCAD after that. As a last resort, I rebooted to see if that would complete the change, but in vain.
I made sure that the network location for the bitmap files is listed in my Options > Support File Search Path (very near the top of the support file list), but that still isn't solving the problem.
How to get AutoCAD to completely forget the old image that is showing on the ribbon and repopulate it with the updated bitmap image?
I've been having shadows of a huge grid projected on the surface of my project. Apparently, they come from the sky of my drawing (and I didn't draw anything like that). A few hours ago, I was playing with some sun and lightning settings (I think), and those shadows stopped appearing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing X5 pro, a project comprising an introduction and 6 clips was created, with menu. Each clip has its own sound (voice and music). The rendering config included 2 pass conversion and normalise sound checked, for creation of a disk image on an HDD folder. The preview worked fine - vision and sound OK. Because there were multiple disks to be made, the image creation also worked fine, as did the burn disk from iso.
But when the resulting disk was played back after burning, the first clip on it had no sound. Imagery fine, just no sound. It wasn't an isolated case. A repeat try - with particular care to check this aspect, ie sound on the clip, was OK during preview - got the same result in the final disk.
I have to convert a CMYK image into a monochrome bitmap and I can't figure out how to do this in Photoshop.
In the menu under image - mode , there is only greyscale option, or if I choose bitmap, there is also no monochrome option.
I'm just starting to play with turning into images into halftone image. So far I've learned how to do it 2 ways: 1) using the Pixelate>Halftone filter and 2)Converting the image to grayscale then bitmap>halftone.
How to best changel color - not as whole but to convert different section to different colors - I've tried the history brush. I've dragged it into illustrator (which I tried live trace). But I'm not quite getting the flexibility of just painting different areas different colors. Also, what angles work best to avoid strange grid effects?
I've got LR4 and a bunch of photos with 3 nasty dust marks.Spot Removal does not allow to mark one of these spots (the pointer does not turn into the marking circle).Probably LR cannot see it as needing repair.

If I export an image out of CDx5 as a tiff or jpg and print it on the Roland VS640 any white areas are off grey.
If I export an image as eps or pdf with a bitmap with a white background in the content the white background is off grey...eg. client supplies their logo as jpg format to go onto a white banner.
I am new to 3ds Max and trying to teach myself using a tutorial book - Mastering Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011, however I am using 2012 version.
I am on a step where it is explaining how to assign a bitmap image onto a plane, however, I cannot get the image to show up.
I create my plane add the image to the diffuse map deselect real-world scale option change the tiling value for U V to 1 and deselect tiling for both
select the plane I want to add the image to click the assign material to selection button (I dont see anything change at this point) Then the final step it says to click the "show standard map in viewport button" - I cannot locate this button within the material editor... there is a grayed out "put material to scene" a "show shaded material in viewport" ??? neither seems to do anything?
I just downloaded 2013, and I am trying to learn how to use it through a book to work with my future school designs. I, of course, have little assignments to do to learn how to work the basics of this program. I am at the point where I am creating a bitmap image onto a plane. I worked it the book's way, and the selected plane did not change to the image I chose; it remained a gray color. I then looked up tutorials online and have the same results. The material editor is changing, but not in the viewport.

I have a problem with exporting bitmaps (for icons)., The resulting image is totally distorted compared to the original document. I define document size to 16x16 pixels with a 72 dpi resolution. I would like to have the exported bmp image to be an exact copy of the illustration, thus having unchecked the anti aliasing function and every object is designed to match the pixel size. The same happens if I try to convert the graphic to a bitmap, see screenshots below. I have attached the original cdr file.
If I have a bitmap image that has been cropped to an irregular shape (say a star or pear etc) is there any way in CorelDraw to replace the image without having to crop and position the bitmap all over again. I thought It would be as simple as clicking edit bitmap & pasting the new image once in corel photo paint but that does not seem to be the case.
edit: also is it possible to swap the image with a higher resolution version.
I have recently created a macro in coreldraw x6 but after running this macro When I export through Publish to PDF bitmap in the document deleted in PDF file.
