Jan 13, 2012I am aiming to plot and print a 3d model when it has been rendered.
I am able to save the rendered image when it is produced in its pop up box, but then when I try to import the image so that it can be plotted and printed it says that autocad doesn't support the file.

Aug 14, 2013I'm new to AECS6 and wanted to embed a video into a video. I rendered an AVI(MPEG4) in Key-shot 4 that is only 6 seconds long.When I import (or drag and drop) that file into AE it freezes and then crashes. I am not sure what's going on. I tried importing other AVIs, and they seem to be working just fine!..
Then i tried importing the FLV of the same AVI video I rendered with keyshot, it says my file is damaged or corrupted. but i can playback the FLV file no problem.I am on windows 7 64bit right now, 8GB of ram, Intel i7 at 3.4GHz, NVDIA GeForace GT 640.

I created a new rendering in which all materials came out great and I saved it. Minutes later I opened the new rendering and it too became blue. I worked on this project for months and have not made any changes to materials. All previously saved images in my file, the wall materials, stairs, and certain furniture have all turned blue.

Revit :: Small White Area Appears In Background In Rendered View
Dec 20, 2012I ran some rendereings using revit 2013 , and windows 8 . But everytime I render a view I get a horizontal white area in the background that looks like a white fence.
I attached a rendered view ( draft quality) and a realistic view . you can see the white area in the background in both images.

The image correctly appears in the sheet, and even in the "preview" window while exporting to DWF. However, the DWF file does not show the image. Is this a hidden export setting or a view setting in Design Review?

But I didn't do everything from it, I tweaked something, it may have been the lighting rendering.
The reason I want to recreate this is because I need a version of it in higher quality. It's supposed to have a rock texture look to it, and I made it look golden.

Sep 30, 2013Using Inventor 2014 for some very simple (just a few component) models. When I use Studio to render an image, two objects are shown with a "cross" on them. The parts are nothing but extruded circles--nothing to them, so it's not clear to me why there are lines on their surface.

Aug 29, 2012Using X5 pro, a project comprising an introduction and 6 clips was created, with menu. Each clip has its own sound (voice and music). The rendering config included 2 pass conversion and normalise sound checked, for creation of a disk image on an HDD folder. The preview worked fine - vision and sound OK. Because there were multiple disks to be made, the image creation also worked fine, as did the burn disk from iso.
But when the resulting disk was played back after burning, the first clip on it had no sound. Imagery fine, just no sound. It wasn't an isolated case. A repeat try - with particular care to check this aspect, ie sound on the clip, was OK during preview - got the same result in the final disk.

Dec 6, 2010How do I use the standard Revit can lights in a wood joist floor with drywall applied to the bottom? If I place in a suspended ceiling, can lights light up just fine. However, if I use them in the floor space of a wood joist floor, the light itself gets covered with the floor. How can I get the light to cut the floor out so I can see the light when it is rendered?

Feb 19, 2012I used Revit Architecture to build up a project. It is now ready for all further task you can do with Revit MEP, like electricity and plumping.
I tried serveal ways to import the rvt file in Revit MEP. If I just open my Revit Arcitecutre file I have all my views and cuts but I can't install any tube or wire because the view is missing where I should see it.
The other way I tried is to open a new MEP project by using the standart template and link it with my Revit Arcitecture file. That works, but I only get a shape of my project and it is really hard to navigate without all the views I was used to in the Revit Arcitecutre.
How can I use MEP on my current project by keeping the views and structure of my Revit Arcitecture file.
Revit :: Import DWG Files
Jan 9, 2013I am new to using Revit and I am just trying to figure out how it works to be honest. I have made a 2 floor building in ACAD ARCH 13 and when I import the DWG files into Revit, they just show the 2D line drawings even when I look in 3D mode. Do I have to re make all of the walls and such in Revit or am I missing a step to import all of the windows, doors, and wall heights?

However I have a file where I cannot change the material no matter what I do. I tried importing it as a family, I tried exploding the dwg, I tried setting the layers to 'color by layer'. It is beyond me
There is another file where I can only change some layers but not the others.

Nov 9, 2010Is it possible to import a 3D DWG (lines) to be used as a path for a sweep? I'm assuming (because I've found that it appears not to possible) that model lines must be assigned to a workplane and that "floating" 3D lines from a DWG aren't assigned workplanes and therefore can't be converted into Revit Model Lines.

When I click the import or load button the program appears to freeze and no dialog box appears. I can hit escape and its back to normal. I tried seeing if the dialog box was hidden behind all my open programs but I can't seem to locate it anywhere.

For example, I'm trying to place a water closet family and the modify ribbon is giving me "Import Instance" instead of placement options (as in placing on a face) like it did just a couple days ago. I was placing these water closets in this same model just a few days ago and it was working fine. I've imported a few DWG files since then and now I'm getting this behavior. how do I undo it?

It's great that the 'link cad' does it but why not import cad? This would be very useful as we model certain things (pipework statues,) from point cloud and model on other software, then we bring into revit, so we use the same coordinates as the point cloud (O.S coordinates.)
Also I'm glad that Autodesk have added the shared coordinates to the point cloud insert for Revit 2013.

I have tried resaving and creating new files but that has resulted in the same problem, as well as creating new export files from revit, and saving on my h drive or on seperate usbs that have had no success.

They are listed in the project browser. I select the familiy from the project browser. The Type Properties window then displays. I click load. The Imperial Library window displays but the item displayed in the project browser window is not listed in any folder.
Revit learning curve frustration is setting in.
