3ds Max :: No Cuda Device Found
Sep 12, 2012Ok i have 3ds max 2013 student edition,with a amd quad 4 cpu,and i just bought this card URL...,it says it has 384 cuda cores,and i know it works because i used it with a video editing program,and ran some tests without cuda enabled and disabled it performed rather well,but when i try to use the iray render in max it says no cuda device found,and i have updated the drivers and all of that,what i need to know is in simple terms is my card compatible with max 2013 which is (geforce gt 640).

3ds Max :: No Supported Cuda Devices Detected
Apr 15, 2012I have a GTX 590 and a Geforce 7600GT graphic card installed in my system. Now, in the Iray Render Dialog it says that "No supported cuda devices detected".
I know that the GTX 590 IS a cuda device and is also a multi-gpu so that it should find 2 cuda devices on my system.
Cuda is installed and I use the latest drivers from nvidia "296.10".
VideoStudio :: CUDA Acceleration Option Greyed Out
Nov 28, 2012I have VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultimate (full paid for version) but I am unable to select the 'Enable Hardware Encoder Acceleration' option under Preferences/Performance as the option is greyed out.
I have an nVidia GTX660 Ti 3GB made by EVGA. This has a CUDA based CPU and according to Corel's advertising, VS Pro X5 is designed for this chipset, and so I cannot understand why the option to enable it is not available.
Some comments from Corel support I found that this option isn't required for CUDA cards as they are enabled and used by default. However, I have just done a test render of a 1920x1080 AVI clip to MP4 using H.264 and monitored both my CPU (dual Xeon E5420) and GPU utilisation. The CPUs hit 90% whilst the GPUs sat there doing nothing at all other than basic screen rendering rather than any encoding. Corel's comments are incorrect.
Also, I have a support case open with Corel but TBH, I don't hold out much hope as their last response was "If the hardware acceleration options are greyed out, then your graphics card software is managing the hardware acceleration. Please check with Nvidia whether there is an option to disable this. If there is, then once it is disabled, the hardware accelerations option will become active again.". Now, I don't pretend to be an expert in these matters, but I was under the impression that the hardware was enabled and managed by the drivers, and those drivers also offered out the functions of the card to other software that required it (API?), such as VS Pro when it needs access to the hardware acceleration to encode video. Graphics rendering on games works fine without me having to disable any graphics card software so why doesn't VS Pro?
For info, my hardware / OS is as follows:
Dual Xeon E5420 CPUs at 2.5Ghz (8 cores in total)
16GB RAM
EVGA nVidia GTX 660 Ti 3GB (with 310.61 beta drivers but still same issue with 306.97 release drivers)
240 GB Kingston SSD
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate with SP1
How to get hardware acceleration enabled using a GTX 600 series card? Or any other card that initially had the option greyed out?
I know that some people say that CPU rendering gives better quality, but I have a few hundred hours of old VHS and Video 8 tapes to transfer to digital and burn to DVD so as the quality isn't great to start with, I'm not too concerned about a few artifacts if I can significantly reduce the rendering time.
If I can't resolve this issue then I am going to claim a refund under Corel's 30 day money back guarantee as the product doesn't perform as advertised. However, I'd prefer to get it working as I quite like it.

Jan 25, 2014on my system Premiere Pro CC is only using GPU rendering with AVI output formats.
All other formats like MPEG2, Quicktime, H.264 are unfortunatly fully CPU rendered (=slow).
I just upgraded from trial to payed mode and when Premiere started the CUDA was already enabled (might have activated it during trial already).
But anyway I checked if my card was in the support txt file and also used the cuda.zip auto tool to make sure I had no typo.I did this for Premiere Pro CC and also copied the list into the Adobe Media Encoder directory.
So I started playing with input and output formats. It turned out that CUDA is currently only working with AVI output. I installed GPU-Z to check my GPU usage vs CPU usage in the task manager.
As soon as I pick any other output format than AVI - CPU usage during rendering is up to 80-90 and GPU at 0%.
With AVI output GPU ist around 30 and CPU in the 40ties or less as it should be.One of my old applications Cyberlink Power Produces 11 is doing the h264 rendering in half the time.
My System is running on:
Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe with 16GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti (with current Driver - 332.21 )
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit (with Media Center) and latest updates
Current entry in CUDA*.txt file (as printed by Adobe GPUSniffer):

A virus is not out of the question but before I reformat etc I was wondering if the Beta Wacom drivers has caused any issues on other systems. Looking at the reliability records the graph is pointing downward exactly at and after the date I installed the drivers.

"Ray-tracing on the GPU requires CUDA version 4.0 or later. Ray-tracing will use the CPU until you install the latest supported CUDA driver."
I am running a supported Quadro 4000 with the latest CUDA driver, 4.2.7, and about the only thing I know of that I have installed recently was the update for SpeedGrade today. Why I'm now getting the warning?

A common misconception is that CUDA/OpenCL processing is only used for rendering for previews. That is not true. CUDA/OpenCL processing can be used for rendering for final output, too.
But where/what are the options/settings to use CUDA not only for preview purposes, but for accelerating the rendering of the final output, too?
After Effects :: CC Not Recognizing 680M With Latest CUDA Driver
Mar 22, 2014I have tracked this problem with different versions of everything but can't seem to zero in on a cause. This problem seems to randomly occur when I start up After Effects with other apps already running. I haven't isolated every scenario because sometimes it works, other times it doesn't, and still other times I don't need ray-tracing anyway.
If I then go about clicking things off and re booting, etc, it will eventually work. This past time I started AE after I already had Photoshop and Premiere Pro running. Safari, Outlook, Power Point, a couple of Finder windows and VLC player were also running. After I closed everything and then started AE first, it recognized my CUDA drivers and card.
Then I re opened everything I had open before ... loaded them full of content, went about the business of editing, ray-tracing, rendering, etc. with no issues.
I guess I should be happy with a solution that depends on the order in which I open applications and I am certainly glad there seems to be a work around (albeit a workflow stopper). Are there settings in my other apps that are blocking AE's ability to recognize CUDA? A conflict with VLC player?
With a relatively new iMac, gobs of RAM (some say is way more than needed), a fancy subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud with timely updates, I'd like to get into that comfort zone where everything just works.
Photoshop :: Color Drivers In Vista 64bit -

C:WINDOWSsystem32spooldriverscolor.
However, in the same location in Vista 64bit, the Adobe 1998 driver, and a few others, are not present.
Yet, I was able to select Adobe 1998 in CS3's colour preferences.
So, where have the color drivers been installed on this Vista 64bit machine?
Photoshop :: CC Crashes And Doesn't Recognize Display Drivers
Aug 18, 2013I just built this brand new computer and everytime I open up Photoshop CC it first promps me with a message that 3d features require a minimum of 512mb of vRam and it has detected less on my system. I then go into Edit>Preference>Performance and under Graphics Processor Settings it says that it is Unable to detect information and that photoshop has detected an error in my display driver.
This is a brand new computer the specs are:
Windows 8 Pro - 64bit
Intel Core i5-3570k CPU @ 3.40GHz
Ram: 16 GB
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
I updated my graphics driver via the Radeon site and it is version: 12.104-130328a-159787C-ATI.
I even rolled back to previous versions of my display driver and still nothing. I also tried out CS6 and CS5 and I still have the same problems.

Jan 15, 2013I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad R500 running Windows Vista.
I seem to be having an issue with my display driver. Everytime I open Adobe Photoshop, I get an error that photoshop has encountered an error with my display driver, and it does not display images properly (they seem to be very low resolution).
I checked my drivers, and everything is up to date. I even ran Windows Update just to be sure.

Dec 22, 2013I'm experiencing an interesting issue in Premiere Pro CC. When using Mercury Playback Engine with either CUDA or OpenCL acceleration, the SDI output from my Blackmagic Design Decklink Extreme 3D+ card exhibits a noticable gamma shift towards the dark. When I switch to Software Only playback, the image appears as it should. The image in the viewer window inside Premiere is not affected in any way, just the SDI output. I've confirmed this behavior at multiple frame rates, resolutions and codecs, including ProRes, XDCam and RED. The "Linear Processing" checkbox in sequence settings makes no difference.
It makes the MPE acceleration unusable, and Premiere is very slow without MPE.
3ds Max :: Iray And Crashing GPU Drivers
Mar 1, 2013having trouble with rendering with iray on 3ds max 2013. All goes well for the first 2 hours or so and then the drivers crash with error code 4101 ( Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.) This then kills the render. ive tried updating my mobo bios asus p9x79 to latest verion from 2104 to 3305. this had no effect. im using a gtx 670 ftw 4gb with 3104.07 drivers and 80.04.4b.00.70 firmware is installed. 3ds max is updated to update 6 This is on a clean install of windows drivers and apps. this is killing me ive got stuff that needs to get done and i just cant do it at the moment.

For some reason the PDF drivers are not working, and I have already gone through the add a plotter wizard to no avail. One thing to note is I still have AutoCAD LT 2010 on my machine, and all the print drivers work fine for it. Perhaps there is some kind of conflict between the two CAD programs on one machine?

However, when I try to use it in VideoStudio X4 the only option I get is a webcam. Are there any special drivers I need to make this work? I have searched google a bit, but maybe I am missing something. I am using the trial version of the program to try and get things worked out before I actually purchase it. The software looks wonderful for stop animation so I really want to make this work.

Jun 17, 2012I'm using LR4 current version on a Lion machine (also current version) - IMAC 27" (also current version) with an Epson 9880 printer. Currently trying this with the Lion driver and version 6.1.2 Epson profiles. I've also tried this with the most recent Snow Leopard driver with the same results. The profiles are not showing up in the "other" dialog within LR4. They do show up in printer setup. I also have a 4800 here and that is working fine. I notice that the Color Sync utility is not displaying them. I've tried downloading and reinstalling, restarting, etc. - no change. I don't recall this being a problem with LR3.
I have been using the Snow Leopard profiles because of the problems associated with the shaded color/BW print dialog in the Lion printer dialogs, for what that's worth, and I thought everything was fine but now,
AutoCAD 2013 :: Certified Drivers For Recent Graphic Cards
Jul 5, 2013We are planning on upgrading our CAD workstations. At the moment we are having problems (crashing) running Autocad 2014 and Plant 3D in 2014 version. Unfortunately our graphic cards (Quadro 4000) are not listed in the list with certified drivers, so getting any support on this subject is not possible. So currently we are still running AC2013 and it works fine.
For our new workstations we want to be sure all our hardware will be fully compatible (for that reason we only buy 1 first). If I look into the certified drivers list; [URL]....... I can mostly see older cards. When will newer cards/drivers be tested? We would like to re-use our quadro4000 or buy quadro K4000 or K2000. (Actually we were never impressed by the quadro4000, the quadro2000 would probably have been almost just as good at a much lower price.)
