View 1 RepliesWe have been running Windows XP-Pro (32 Bit) withAutocad Mechanical 2011 using a Calcomp Drawing Board-III and the TWSER2kXp.exe driver, everything is running fine. We want to switch over to Window-7 running 64 Bit and I want to know if our older driver will work as before and if not what driver do I need to use to define the tablet areas of the menu and be able to use our 16 button pucks.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI signed up for Adobe Creative Cloud, so that I could evaluate the latest version of Illustrator and Photoshop. I downloaded and installed Illustrator, however my computer crawled after the install. So I had to do a System Restore back to before the download and install of Illustrator.
Â
After the System Restore, I again downloaded and installed Illustrator. The program showed up in the programs menu. I then downloaded and installed Photoshop and Dreamweaver. But after that, two separate versions of Photoshop show up - regular and 64 bit (I only downloaded and installed one version of Photoshop), and Dreamweaver. Illustrator no longer shows up in the Windows 7 Programs menu. How is this possible???
Â
I looked in C:Program Files, and a 342MB Illustrator CC file is there. But I cannot find a .exe file in that file, and so cannot start Illustrator.
Â
Worse still, when I try to download and install Illustrator once again, Adobe Creative Cloud shows me as having downloaded and installed it already, and that it is working perfectly - which is of course, NOT TRUE! Creative Cloud will accordingly not allow me to download and install Illustrator again! So while Creative Cloud thinks I have a worling version of Illustrator CC to try out and evaluate, I in fact do not!
What happened, and why the version installed in Program Files folder is not showing up i the Programs Menus of Windows 7, and or what I can do to get Illustrator to start up.
Thumbnails in Windows Explorer no longer show .rfa files after installing Revit 2013.

The computer still has Revit 2013 installed, and thumbnails worked before installing 2014.
I have a legal copy of cs3 suite (design) and i have just receive my new apple pro.
I have connected my epson 2450 scanner by firewire and installed the suite.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have CS5 Design Standard on a Macbook Pro OS 10.6.8 . I tried downloading the twain plugin and dragging into applications/ PSCS5/plug-ins/import-export then relaunching as instructed on Adobe website. Nothing. The plug-in is there but no twain interface for the scanner appears as an option under file import in PS. The scanner is an older Epson Perfection 1250. The latest driver for the scanner is installed.
Â
(IMHO Twain should be a standard part of the Adobe suite. Scanners are universal, especially for users of graphics programs.)
Is there a TWAIN plug-in for Photoshop CC? (I saw the June 2013 query; any updates since then?) This is for a Windows 7, 64 bit installation, using an Epson Perfection 2400 scanner. If not, any work around beside buying Vuescan?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am about to upgrade from CS5 to CS6. I found that CS5 automatically installed in 32 and 64 bit in my Windows 7 64 bit PC. I use 32 bit to scan as it has a TWAIN plug in, and 64 bit to manipulate images as the File Automate Batch causes the 32 bit program to crash with the plug in - but I really want to go on with TWAIN . There is a plug in for the CS6, (for the 32bit version) so I just wanted to know that it does instal in both versions as did its predecessor.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just transferred my stuff from my old G4 to a new Mac Pro and I'm having a few hiccups along the way.
I had it working ok a few days ago and now I can't use my scanner because that Twaine software that CS2 uses to import from the scanner etc. has disappeared.
I've tried to find a place to download it but I'm not having any luck, you'd think that Adobe would include it with the CD but they didn't .
In Windows XP, color drivers (Adobe 1998, in particular) appear in
C:WINDOWSsystem32spooldriverscolor.
However, in the same location in Vista 64bit, the Adobe 1998 driver, and a few others, are not present.
Yet, I was able to select Adobe 1998 in CS3's colour preferences.
So, where have the color drivers been installed on this Vista 64bit machine?
I have an hp Photo smart C6380 all in one that I use for scanning. In Photoshop CS4, I just choose File, Import, then choose the TWAIN option. But in CS5, the TWAIN option is not available. How do I add this in CS5? (I am working on a Windows XP machine.)Â

Is the TWAIN plugin supported in CS5.1 and Mac OS 10.7? If so, troubleshoot why the plug-in does not appear in my file/import dropdown list?
P.S. I prefer to use the TWAIN plug-in because I am very familiar with the TWAIN driver and how to manipulate scanner settings to get a scanned image that represents my original artwork. I am testing the recommended VueScan and it offers more than the epson scanner driver on the mac, but I can get more work done in less time with a TWAIN plug-in because there's no learning curve.
I just got an HP pavilion d7 computer running Vista Home Premium (64) on a 2gb processor with 4gb RAM. I successfully installed CS3, entered the license code and activated the software, but when I try to run Photoshop CS3, I get the infamous Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working properly error at the screen where it says it is building TWAIN menu items. I've tried the licensing update from Adobe with no success. I've tried running it as administrator, using the compatibility mode...no success. I'm at my wits end. Incidentally, I tried installing the PSE7 trial (because I was going to buy it next week) and that gives me the same error whenever I try to access the Editor.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had Photoshop CS2 and CS3 previously installed, just installed "Adobe Creative Suite 4" but photoshop won't work.
I start the program and as it is loading it gets to "Building TWAIN Menu Items" and then it stops and the "Send error report" window appears.
I recently purchased a new computer (PC) with a Windows XP OS. I needed to reload Photoshop 6.0, which I was using on my previous computer (Windows 98SE). Everything seemed OK, except that I could no longer import images from my scanner through Photoshop. If I select "import" in the file menu, instead of showing my Canon scanner as the TWAIN destination, it merely shows "annotations."
Now...After encountering this problem, I downloaded and installed the update for Photoshop 6.0 and installed it. I also downloaded from the Adobe site a Plug-In update. This, I thought, would probably fix the problem. And it did...sort of.
I installed the updates as instructed, opened Photoshop, and still my scanner was not showing up.
Then at some point I inadvertently clicked on one of the plug-in downloads mentioned above...a plug-in.dll file. When I did that, Photoshop immediately opened and the scanner was there! So, I created a shortcut to the file on my desktop. If I click on it, the program will open up and I can scan through Photoshop. If I open Photoshop using the regular icon on the desktop, though the program will seem to work normally in every other respect, I does not recognize my scanner.
I have a Canon CanoScan 8800F and I can scan from CS3 just fine for a little while, but eventually, it will give me the following errors: "ScanGear: Cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected or scanner turned off. Check status. Scanner driver will be closed." followed by: "Could not open the TWAIN source. Make sure there is a valid source for your scanner in the TWAIN directory in the Windows directory" If I reboot my computer, I can scan through Photoshop again, but only for a few minutes. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? I've updated the drivers for the scanner and I'm running the most up-to-date version of CS3.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently tried to open photoshop 7, however the programme starts to load, but freezes when trying to load TWAIN! I have carried out a logistics test and the following message kept on appearing - Adobe Photoshop 7 (380) CF Log (21) : get disc fragment returns- 2851 for TWAIN > when trying to load / System / Library / Frameworks / TWAIN. framework / TWAIN.
Further to this Indesign will not load, instead a message appears Cannot load Indesign because it requires Photoshop Import filter. Please install Photoshop Import Filter plug in and restart. As mentioned I am at a complete loss, both programmes working before. The only thing I can possibly think of is that I loaded the software for my new digital camera, this being a Nikon Coolpix 7900 and the software is Picture Project 1.1, then decided I did not require the software, so deleted it. I wonder if this has anything to do with it. I have since re loaded the software, however Photoshop is still not working.

I just built this brand new computer and everytime I open up Photoshop CC it first promps me with a message that 3d features require a minimum of 512mb of vRam and it has detected less on my system. I then go into Edit>Preference>Performance and under Graphics Processor Settings it says that it is Unable to detect information and that photoshop has detected an error in my display driver.
This is a brand new computer the specs are:
Â
Windows 8 Pro - 64bit
Intel Core i5-3570k CPU @ 3.40GHz

I updated my graphics driver via the Radeon site and it is version: 12.104-130328a-159787C-ATI.

I even rolled back to previous versions of my display driver and still nothing. I also tried out CS6 and CS5 and I still have the same problems.

I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad R500 running Windows Vista.
Â
I seem to be having an issue with my display driver. Everytime I open Adobe Photoshop, I get an error that photoshop has encountered an error with my display driver, and it does not display images properly (they seem to be very low resolution).
Â
I checked my drivers, and everything is up to date. I even ran Windows Update just to be sure.
