Vista Home Premium 64 I have 9800 GT. I've down-loaded latest drivers but I'm not sure how to install. Do I need to delete present driver BEFORE installing? And, if so, how? OR, do I go to DEVICE MANAGER> DISPLAY ADAPTERS> UPDATE DRIVER?I'd like to be able to roll back, if necessary. I know this is a common thing for most, but I hate making any changes to my system.Â

C:WINDOWSsystem32spooldriverscolor.
However, in the same location in Vista 64bit, the Adobe 1998 driver, and a few others, are not present.
Yet, I was able to select Adobe 1998 in CS3's colour preferences.
So, where have the color drivers been installed on this Vista 64bit machine?

Dec 22, 2008On my XPS 400 system I have a Geforce 7900GS 256MB card installed and on the other system, an XPS 730 H2C, I have dual GTX 280s.
Quadro cards designed for PS CS4 were simply way outside what I could afford. Just like I could not afford faster (above 7200 RPM) harddrives.
I figure, that is the experence of most PS license holders who visit and post in these forums.
My lay research tells me that "possibly" the biggest difference between, say my Geforce latest and greatest, and your Cadilac Quadro is in what the respective drivers are programmed to do.

Jul 14, 2013Just installed CS6 on my new workstation and Photoshop; it freezes upon opening.Every other program I have installed has worked flawlessly, including the rest of the CS6 Suite and Lightroom 5.Both Windows and the Adobe Suite have all available updates already installed.Computer is a new HP Z420 Xeon Workstation, Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 16GB Ram.

Jul 11, 2012In Photoshop CS6 (64bit), when using the brush tool (with a brush with pressure sensitivity activated), I quite often get a line drawn at the max width selected, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. Everything goes back to normal after I start drawing another line, and happens again after a few lines. It's quite random. Â

I don't have this problem in any other software (Illustrator CS6 64bit, Painter XII, Sketchbook Pro, Zbrush, ...). I have already checked and I've found some other users on other forums with the same problem.
One example, with a picture of the problem: [URL] Another one, exact same problem: [URL] Some of those users seem to have solved their problem by installing an old driver (6.1.5r3), but they had that problem with Intuos TABLETS in the first place, not a Cintiq 24HD... I have tried that, but unfortunately the driver is not compatible with the Cintiq 24HD.

To test this out: I've been able to reproduce the problem 90% of the times I've tried. if I keep the pen at 1 inch from the display so that it's still recognized by the screen but it's not drawing, then wiggle it a bit, and then I slowly move to the screen and tap it (as if I was starting a line with very low pressure), the problem appears and it makes a large dot, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. As I said the test doesn't work every time, but almost.

I have tried the pressure test in the Wacom utility software and it seems to work fine, it never jump to full even when I try the method I've just described. In the diagnostic page of the Wacom utility software the pressure is always correct, even when in Photoshop there's the brush sensitivity issue.

note: I've already tried to completely re-install my computer + the Adobe software + the lastest wacom driver for my Cintiq 24HD, and the problem is still the same.

Both are referencing cooltype.dll. I ran Font Doctor on all system and non-system fonts and found no errors. Booted without Extensis Suitcase loading. Nothing works. All 32 bit programs work fine.

Dec 30, 2008I am starting to have system instability....BSOD 0x00000024 / 0x0000001E, warm boots before the login screen, and weird behavior like the NTFS file system not working ( causing corrupt saves ), superfetch shutting down, Photoshop minimizing - maximising then windows shutting down........Odd
A virus is not out of the question but before I reformat etc I was wondering if the Beta Wacom drivers has caused any issues on other systems. Looking at the reliability records the graph is pointing downward exactly at and after the date I installed the drivers.

Aug 18, 2013I just built this brand new computer and everytime I open up Photoshop CC it first promps me with a message that 3d features require a minimum of 512mb of vRam and it has detected less on my system. I then go into Edit>Preference>Performance and under Graphics Processor Settings it says that it is Unable to detect information and that photoshop has detected an error in my display driver.
This is a brand new computer the specs are:

I seem to be having an issue with my display driver. Everytime I open Adobe Photoshop, I get an error that photoshop has encountered an error with my display driver, and it does not display images properly (they seem to be very low resolution).

I've got all the drivers updated to the latest. I've gone into the nvidia control panel and changed the preferred graphics processor to NVIDIA and set program itself to use nvidia. Don't know what else to do.

Oct 15, 2008It would appear that even with Nvidia's new Vista drivers 178.24 (today Oct 15) you will only get GPU support if you turn off SLI. Seems like a waste of a second video card. Hopefully Nvidia will get this sorted in the next release.

3ds Max :: Iray And Crashing GPU Drivers
Mar 1, 2013having trouble with rendering with iray on 3ds max 2013. All goes well for the first 2 hours or so and then the drivers crash with error code 4101 ( Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.) This then kills the render. ive tried updating my mobo bios asus p9x79 to latest verion from 2104 to 3305. this had no effect. im using a gtx 670 ftw 4gb with 3104.07 drivers and 80.04.4b.00.70 firmware is installed. 3ds max is updated to update 6 This is on a clean install of windows drivers and apps. this is killing me ive got stuff that needs to get done and i just cant do it at the moment.

Oct 11, 2012Just recently Photoshop CS5 64-bit has not been detecting my GPU. It was working perfectly fine for over a year until about two months ago after, I guess, a driver update? I'm not sure which version may have caused it to happen but I just upgraded the driver to the one that was released today on Nvidia (GeForce 306.97 Driver), doing a clean install, and Photoshop is still not detecting the card...It's frustrating as I'd like to be able to use the Open GL functions again. I also have two hard drives if that could be any source of the problem.

To elaborate, I am running an SSD (C:) and an HDD (E:). I have Photoshop and my GPU drivers installed in C:.

Anyways, I opened up preferences and tried switching the scratch drive to E: and restarted Photoshop. I got an error saying "Could not open a scratch file because of a disk error." Pressing "OK", I received another error message "Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invaled (it has been deleted)". Pressing "OK" again gets Photoshop to start up and suddenly it is recognizing my GPU and allowing Open GL functions. But as soon as I close out of Photoshop and re-open it, it's back to not detecting my GPU and has Open GL functions grayed out.
I searched the forums for similar issues and came across with the possibility of permission issues or missing TEMP folder...however the permissions look fine and there is a temp folder in my C: drive. What's with this? I'd love to find a fix ASAP as I use PS every day and it's starting to become a real work efficiency issue!

I have Photoshop CC installed (14.1.2) and everything is fine using the NVidia driver version 314.22, however when I try to update the driver to the latest version 327.23 (released 19 September 2013)Â Photoshop does not recognise the GT640M and will only use the Intel HD 4000!
