Paint Shop Pro :: Instant Viewer Was No Longer On System
Nov 20, 2011I recently upgraded from PSP X3 to X4 and, once X4 was installed on my system, uninstalled X3. After the uninstall I noticed that the Corel Instant Viewer was no longer on my system.
The Instant Viewer that came packaged with X3 was a nice light-weight photo viewer which I thought was much better than the Windows Preview functionality and there appears to be no replacement for it in X4 (or at least I cannot find one). I have also gone to Corel's web page looking for a separate downloadable product to use in its place, but have found nothing. I cannot find a way to uninstall X3 without also uninstalling the viewer so how to get the Instant Viewer without having to re-install X3 and keep both X3 and X4 on my system simultaneously?

Jun 5, 2011When I put my DSLR memory card into my computer the files appear in order in Windows Explorer, but when I double click a photo, Corel Instant Viewer opens but the thumbnails are no longer in order according to their file numbers. Some will be in order, but earlier (lower file numbers) files will be sprinkled throughout seemingly at random. I can't figure out how the viewer decides to arrange them or how I can make it display my files in the order in whidch they were shot. What am I missing?

Sep 1, 2013I recently installed Corel Paintshop PhotoPro X3. I find now that when I double-click a gif file (and I think some other types) it is opened with Corel Instant Viewer rather than Microsoft Office 2010. I want Office to be the default viewer, so from Windows Explorer I right-clicked the gif file, selected "Open with..." then "Select default program", then Microsoft Office 2010, and checked "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", finally "OK". The file then opened with Office. However the next time I double-clicked the same file, it opened once more with Corel Instant Viewer.
The procedure I followed has worked in other cases, so I don't understand why it doesn't work now. Is there any way of preventing Corel Instant Viewer from being the default viewer short of uninstalling it?
Paint Shop Pro :: X6 Ultimate Instant Effects Thumbnails Missing?
Dec 27, 2013I installed PSP X6 Ulitimate and when I first pulled it up I saw Instant Effects Thumbnails under the Adjust Tab. I experimented with a few then had to get off. When I reopened the program all the thumbnails were gone. No matter what I do I can't get the Instant Effects to show up in any of the tabs. Sometimes I'll scroll the mouse over the area, click it, and the photo will have one of the instant effects applied, e.g. black and white. That doesn't do me any good because I can't see what is being applied before clicking if the thumbnails aren't showing. how to get the instant effects to show back up?

Sep 22, 2011Just installed PSP Pro X4 and tried to uninstall X3. Can't do it. Tried three times. Get an error msg: "The Installation Wizard encountered a problem while trying to configure your software.
Could not access file: c:users homasappdata....setup.msi -- The system cannot find the path specified. Would you like to continue? Yes No" When I choose Yes I get another error msg that says: "Installation Wizard not complete. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click finish to exit the wizard. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation. This installation requires administrative oo elevated privileges. Please contact your administrator and then retry this installation."
Paint Shop Pro :: Can't Uninstall And Reinstall X5
Dec 21, 2011Figured I'd have to reload but the PSP files appear to be there but it wont run so I was gonna reinstall it. When I put in the program disc it runs a bit then says "Setup.xml could not be loaded. This may indicate that the file is corrupt."
I get the same thing if I try to remove PSP with control panel....

Jun 28, 2011I have been having problems with my PSP X2 releasing memory and had time today to reinstall. When I purchased my program it said it was compatible with windows 7, 64bit. Now I see on their web site that PSP X2 doesn’t support Windows 7. So if I uninstall and have problems reinstalling will I be SOL?
What happens if I uninstall and can’t reinstall? Also can’t I just go into Control Panel and tell it to uninstall?
Paint Shop Pro :: X3 Stopped Working / Freezes PC On Uninstall
Jul 10, 2013I have been using PSP x3 for awhile with no issues, but about a month ago, it simply stopped working. I open the program via shortcut, and the logo blinks onscreen, but the program never opens. No explanation, no trace.
I have attempted to uninstall and re-install, but each attempt to uninstall completely freezes the PC dead and I end up having to physically turn the PC off. I'm detecting no infection on the PC.

Mar 4, 2012You basically have to click "Expand canvas" every single time you paste a screenshot larger than the canvas. Sure, open a canvas that size, etc etc, but I'm looking for a permanent solution which would allow you to use the "Expand" choice AUTOMATICALLY, by default, without a popup. On that note, here's another annoying thing. Whenever I open images, crop out something, open a new one, paste it there, save it, etc, I usually have tons of unsaved images which I no longer need. I just want to exit the whole thing altogether without any save popups, etc. Like you would do in MSPaint. Open a canvas, paste in something, save it or don't, exit, the program closes nice and fine. My problem is:
This. I don't want to save every single image separately, because I no longer need them. Neither do I want to manually click each and every single one and tell it not to save, nor do I want to click "Don't Save" every time I exit. This may seem like pointless bitching, but trust me, it really gets on your nerves when you're using the program literally hundreds of times per day.
So, is there any way to disable these popups and define an "automatic" feature, to simply close and enlarge under any circumstances?
Paint.NET :: TGA Image File - Any Way To Disable Transparency
Jun 29, 2011I'm trying to open a .tga image file with Paint.NET.
But instead of the actual image, I just get the grey-and-white transparency grid.
I can see that the image seems to be somewhere behind, because when I use the color-selecting tool on it, I can have the various colors of the image in the color window, with a 0 alpha-transparency.
Is there a way to disable this transparency so I can see the image and be able to modify it ? (I should mention that there is only on layer to that image.)

No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?

While editing small (16 x 16) images, I noticed that Paint.NET used a grid with a width of 2 pixels. Selection rectangles snap to this grid, as do paste operations.
