I have been using PSP x3 for awhile with no issues, but about a month ago, it simply stopped working. I open the program via shortcut, and the logo blinks onscreen, but the program never opens. No explanation, no trace.
I have attempted to uninstall and re-install, but each attempt to uninstall completely freezes the PC dead and I end up having to physically turn the PC off. I'm detecting no infection on the PC.
I had been using X3 for quite a while, on this ancient machine... yet today, I downloaded X4 to see how much of a difference getting that program would be.
Installation went fine.
Program started up, asked me to put in my email address for registration confirmation.. no problem.
Loading screen: Paintshop Pro X4 has stopped working. I cannot get the program to load at all. All pre-required software and updates installed.

X3 still runs without issue, though I am also curious as to why that program weighs in at a 1.37GB total, and X4 is only 340MB? What's missing in X4 that takes up 1GB in X3?
My PSP X1 stopped working on me (and does not want to get reinstalled), and right now, i need a tiny information: what is the max brush size in X1? Is it 500 or 999?

View 14 Replies View Relatedrepeat error each and every time I use any adjustment on graphics, photos or anything I am working on with PSP X3. Am including a screen shot, edited down to the forum specifics, and I had to edit the screen capture with PSP X2 since to reload PSP X3 will now require my restarting my computer.
I have used Paint Shop Pro since it's very first incarnation as a tiny program courtesy of the folks with Jasc, so this is not my first time using the product, just the absolute worst experience doing so.
No matter what the image, file type, or set-up, when I try to make adjustments (even if I make sure to stop and make double sure they are finished processing), eventually the program locks up and I get the error shown and stated.
Getting the error message "Corel PaintShop Pro X4 has stopped working". So far no workaround discovered, still does not work.
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, fully current with updates.
Memory: 8GM RAM
1 TB HD in each C; and E:
CPU: AMD Phenom 3GHz processor

Just today, while making graphics and such, my custom fonts just stopped working all together. Every single one that I have installed just shows up as nothing and is un-selectable when using it. The one in particular that i was using is Bebas Neue. Although all installed fonts are not working either.This happened out of the blue and I don't remember hitting anything or changing anything. Just typing with the font and it refused to show.
Steps Taken:
1. Reset All Preferences
2. Shift Key Trick on Load Up
3. Restarting the Computer
4. Reinstalling PSP X2
5. Using the font in other programs - Which they WORK (Word, GIMP, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
6. Uninstalling/Reinstalling the Font itself.
Just installed PSP Pro X4 and tried to uninstall X3. Can't do it. Tried three times. Get an error msg: "The Installation Wizard encountered a problem while trying to configure your software.
Could not access file: c:users homasappdata....setup.msi -- The system cannot find the path specified. Would you like to continue? Yes No" When I choose Yes I get another error msg that says: "Installation Wizard not complete. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click finish to exit the wizard. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation. This installation requires administrative oo elevated privileges. Please contact your administrator and then retry this installation."
Figured I'd have to reload but the PSP files appear to be there but it wont run so I was gonna reinstall it. When I put in the program disc it runs a bit then says "Setup.xml could not be loaded. This may indicate that the file is corrupt."
I get the same thing if I try to remove PSP with control panel....
I have been having problems with my PSP X2 releasing memory and had time today to reinstall. When I purchased my program it said it was compatible with windows 7, 64bit. Now I see on their web site that PSP X2 doesn’t support Windows 7. So if I uninstall and have problems reinstalling will I be SOL?
What happens if I uninstall and can’t reinstall? Also can’t I just go into Control Panel and tell it to uninstall?
Instant Viewer persists in opening images that are not associated with PSPX3 & then will not close - requires Task Manager.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI had hoped to go from CS4 to Paintshop Pro 4 to process my photos. PSP4 is not working as it should. I begin the edit, get almost through and PSP freezes. My pc has plenty of RAM and storage space. CS4 has never done this. I open up to 10 RAW files at once in CS4 with no problems. I have searched Corel and the web for a clue as to what is going on. I want to leave Adobe and am currently looking for a software replacement. I have used PSP in the past. I stopped using it with the X3 release due to the error messages it gave me and went with Adobe.

The autorun window opens, but I can rarely make it past the licencing agreement, sometimes to the serial number entry, before everything comes to a complete standstill and I have to restart my computer. I've tried installing it under a different user with no luck.

I contacted Corel and they told me to reinstall the program. I have done so but the problem still persists. I have the service pack 2 installed.

I have Paint Shop Pro X5 installed with SP1 on a Windows 8 Enterprise machine. This is not a beta or developer preview of windows 8, it is the final product downloaded from Microsoft Volume Licensing (they do not post betas there).
The installation of X5 was smooth, and the program itself seems to load fine.The first time it ran, it detected an update needed (SP1) which I agreed and applied it.
Next time I ran the program, whenever I click on FILE/OPEN, it does not bring me the windows to browse thru my directories looking for a picture. It freezes completely at that moment until I kill the application with the task manager (as soon as I select OPEN, the program goes into NOT RESPONDING).If I right-click a picture on my disk and select OPEN WITH COREL PAINTSHOP PRO X5, the program works fine and I can work with that picture.
PSP X3 is usually very stable but occasionally when I use the Preset Shape Tool to overlay an arrow onto my image, it freezes permanently. Waiting it out in the hope of self recovery doesn't work. I'm running X3 on a Windows 7 Ultimate Dell Studio 17 laptop, 32 bits, 4 GB RAM.

It does it on any image I've tried. does it only work on specific file types? Haven't had any other problems with the program.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having strange things go on with Paint Shop Pro. One, it stopped automatically recognizing the camera when I plug it in to upload new photos. Now I have to tell it to open the camera, and, even if I have 100 old photos and 25 new ones, it uploads all of them again! Second, the file names have changed for the photos. They've always been the date "20132713_*.jpg". Now it opens them as "001.jpg, or 002.jpg, etc. How can I get it to go back to opening with the date as the file name.....and recognizing the camera and automatically open new photos in the camera?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I go to open up Adobe Photoshop (64bit or otherwise) it will load up for a second then crash the next. It doesn't give me error reason why only says it has stopped working and it can't detect a problem so it closes. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program but the Adobe Application Manager is also acting weird. When it is opened it freezes and soon crashes saying there is a "Download Error".
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I purchased Paint Shop Pro, downloaded it along with the extras -- KPT Collection, Magic Bullet, Win Zip, etc. -- all of which I was able to load/run, but the KPT Collection of effects/filters are not available. The filters are listed under plugins on the menu, but they are not highlighted and therefore can't be accessed.
Is there something I'm missing in trying to use the KPTs or something else that needs to be done to activate them? I did a search here on the forum, but didn't see anything that related to this problem.
I have used MV's Plugins for years. They worked fine in X4, started to not work on a layer in X5, but if I flattened the layer, no problem. In X6 none work, I get an error message. I have the latest versions as far as I am aware.
I then pointed the new Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 9 to the same folder (in this case Contrast Mask) to see if it works there. No problem. Ergo: what's happened to X6 to give these errors. MV'sPlugins_not_working-X6.jpg
I am having an issue as follows.
a) I have postscript (.ps) files for my company's logo which are in process color (CMYK).
b) These files open fine in PSP, and the colors are displayed properly. However, I understand that the files were actually converted to sRGB space, that is, I can't actually make changes in CMYK space, only in sRGB.
c) I need to make some changes to the logo, so I figured I would make the changes, then save a TIF file, using the CMYK space. My printer requires a CMYK file only.
d) Therefore, I simply saved the file opened in b) as a TIF file with a CMYK color space.
d) When I do the Save As in PSP, the file looks exactly like it did when first opened in PSP. (Update - if I close the TIF file in PSP, then reopen it, it does look different - greenish tinge, but not as bad as other viewers) But when I look at the file in other programs (IrfanView, MS Publisher, etc) the image is overly green, for example, my olive green logo components are almost bright green, and almost everything else seems to have a slightly greenish tint.
e) By comparison, if I open the postscript file in Irfanview, it renders correctly.
I thought Irfanview would input CMYK files (and apparently it does for .ps files) but my colors are wrong. Is this a TIF output issue with PSP? Or do I need to find another viewer to properly see the TIF file.

I downloaded a trial version of PSP X4. When i export an image from ASP in ProPhoto RGB color profile, PSP insist to convert it to sRGB. I wonder what is the color profile that been used by PSP as the working space?

But I did find someone who blamed it on IE 8, so at this point IE is no longer my default browser.Windows 7 Pro 64-bit on my home computer with IE 10. often when I click on a video or a link on a web page, the attached jpeg comes up, the window turns black and I have to use Task Mgr to kill IE. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using PSP since jasc released version 4. I was a long time user of 7, 9 and then X2.
Beginning with X3 and now X4 the Auto-Preserve function does not work. I especially miss this feature when running batch process. This is my primary reason fro skipping over X3 waiting for X4.
The function works fine in x2, but it never did in the trials of X3 or now the trial of X4. The feature is enabled. I selected "Yes, do this every time" the first edit I preformed. Verified in preferences as well.
In earlier versions I was given the option of enabling the Auto Save feature, and choosing the time intervals between saves. I chose every 2 minutes. If it crashed or was shut down in a reboot, the images on which I was working were recovered with their layers intact. Nothing was lost. I do not have that option in Version X4.

I have an script running fine with my old PSP (X4, X5). But in X6 the result in not good.
I use the script to insert the date on upper right corner of my pitcures. This data is found in Exif of the picture.
I use an fucntion returning the date, but with X6 , the result it not correct.
