I downloaded a trial version of PSP X4. When i export an image from ASP in ProPhoto RGB color profile, PSP insist to convert it to sRGB. I wonder what is the color profile that been used by PSP as the working space?
I just downloaded and installed the PSP X4 Ultimate, I'd like to try it before I buy it. When I installed the software, I tried to access"Color Working Space", because I work with Adobe1998 and I wanted to change the work space, but every time I try to access PSP crashes.
How to adjust the user interface color (dark to light)? I tried used changing the color working space colors but it didn't seem to make a difference. dark interface hard to read.
I'm exporting Tiff Prophoto files from Lightroom into PSPX4 for further processing. The images are 1 to 2 stops under exposed when compared to Lightroom's image.I have selected PSPX4 color profile to match LR export color space.
I have tried exporting the Tiffs as sRGB and adode1998 and still the images are under exposed. I have little knowledge about color management and have searched around the web for possible answers, but no luck.
I've just got a new monitor and i have downloaded an ICC profile to use as i don't have calibration hardware yet. I've loaded it in Windows using color management. My question now is what color 'working space' i should set in Photoshop.
I must say that learning about color has been a steep learning curve for me so I have tried to avoid it as much as i can!!! If a total novice guide on color has been covered in another thread just point me there!
I have PSP x3 on my computer, it uses over 1 gig of space on my hard drive. I just installed PSPx4 on my computer and it only uses a little less than 400 megabites. Is this correct, or is something not right here. Also did they replace Express Lab with Adjust?
PSPro X XP Home. The clone brush stopped working, I restored PSPro to its default state. Now I only have about half of a working screen with loads of folders showing below still not being able to use the clone brush.
I have been using PSP9 for many years now. However, after trying out PSP X5 I liked some of the new features, so I decided to upgrade. Now I'm starting to regret it... For some reason, the new version creates this little "empty space" at the end of text which I cant figure out how to get rid of! I attached a screenshot to show you what I mean. Is there any way to remove this?
I need to rename tens of thousands of photos and while I have the batch rename tool working just fine.I'm using custom text and sequential numbering. However, I need a blank space between these two fields. I'm using X4 on Windows 7.
Just upgraded to PSP4. In the older versions I could open multiple images into the workspace. Each one had a border with a banner at the top identifying each picture. Each one would come forward by clicking on it. I could move them around and position them so I could even clone from one to another. Can I not do that in PSP4,
I have been trying to dock three palettes vertically on the right side of my work space but have had no luck at all. I have preferences checked to allow docking and have used the drop down on each palette to mark "docking" as opposed to floating. However, the palettes always stack horizontally (left to right) and very large as opposed to vertically and sized as I want them. I can float each palette and drag each to the right of the screen as shown but they will not dock like this. I have attached a capture file of what I want to happen and another with what happens.
If I initially open a smartobject from ACR into PS CS6 using one color space, eg. sRGB, should it then be possible to click back into ACR and change color space to Adobe RGB ???
This is important to me, since working most of the time in sRGB, batch editing lot's of files (for timelapse-video, hence sRGB), but sometimes it may be nessecary to go back and use Adobe RGB to make a best possible print of one of the stills.
This is not working for me. I thought I should be able to do absolutely non-destructive editing when working with smartobjects from ACR, but this may seem to not be the case.
I calibrated my monitor and is using sRGB as working space in photoshop cs2.
If I open an adobeRGB tagged photo, photoshop says profile mismatch. If I choose to convert adobeRGB to sRGB, would some colors get clipped by the smaller sRGB space?
Suppose I want my working space to be adobeRGB, what are all the color management related things I need to change, in addition to choosing adobeRGB as the working space in photoshop? Do I need to change the monitor calibration process?
For family history purposes, wish to improve the legibility of some hand written 1930 telegrams; the ink has faded with time so I want to change its colour to black. The form printing has not faded.
The user guide draws attention to the fact that the color selected for replacement must be in the image. Using the Dropper tool with sample size 1 pixel I position the dropper where I want it, see the color in the preview window, then right-click and the selected color appears in the background window on the Materials panel. So far, so good. I then place the Dropper tool over black in the swatch on the Materials panel, click and black appears in the Foreground window of the Materials panel. I think I'm set.
When I select the Color Replacer tool the background window immediately reverts to another color, usually white.Incidentally, the user guide suggests you read up on selecting colors with the Dropper; when you do this you learn that its OK to pick colors from the Materials panel.
Yesterday I purchased Paint Shop Pro, downloaded it along with the extras -- KPT Collection, Magic Bullet, Win Zip, etc. -- all of which I was able to load/run, but the KPT Collection of effects/filters are not available. The filters are listed under plugins on the menu, but they are not highlighted and therefore can't be accessed.
Is there something I'm missing in trying to use the KPTs or something else that needs to be done to activate them? I did a search here on the forum, but didn't see anything that related to this problem.
I have used MV's Plugins for years. They worked fine in X4, started to not work on a layer in X5, but if I flattened the layer, no problem. In X6 none work, I get an error message. I have the latest versions as far as I am aware.
I then pointed the new Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 9 to the same folder (in this case Contrast Mask) to see if it works there. No problem. Ergo: what's happened to X6 to give these errors. MV'sPlugins_not_working-X6.jpg
I had been using X3 for quite a while, on this ancient machine... yet today, I downloaded X4 to see how much of a difference getting that program would be.
Installation went fine.
Program started up, asked me to put in my email address for registration confirmation.. no problem.
Loading screen: Paintshop Pro X4 has stopped working. I cannot get the program to load at all. All pre-required software and updates installed.
Here's a quick screen:
X3 still runs without issue, though I am also curious as to why that program weighs in at a 1.37GB total, and X4 is only 340MB? What's missing in X4 that takes up 1GB in X3?
My PSP X1 stopped working on me (and does not want to get reinstalled), and right now, i need a tiny information: what is the max brush size in X1? Is it 500 or 999?
I installed LR5 from LR4 yesterday and each time I open an image in CS5 from my LR5, I get the following message:
The document "IMG_9082.CR2"has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded: Adobe RGB (1998)
Working sRGB IEC61966-2.1
What would you like to do?
-Use the embedded profiel (instead of the working space) -Convert documents's colors to the working space -Discard the embedded profile (don't color manage)
My camera's settings have it set with sRGB, LR4 and LR5 have sRGB and I have CS5 workspace as sRGB. This did not happen before.
Is it possible that when LR5 updated the LR4 catalogue, it changed the profile of all my photos? I don't know, maybe I've done something, but I can't see what as I don't remember changing anything.
I want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
a) I have postscript (.ps) files for my company's logo which are in process color (CMYK).
b) These files open fine in PSP, and the colors are displayed properly. However, I understand that the files were actually converted to sRGB space, that is, I can't actually make changes in CMYK space, only in sRGB.
c) I need to make some changes to the logo, so I figured I would make the changes, then save a TIF file, using the CMYK space. My printer requires a CMYK file only.
d) Therefore, I simply saved the file opened in b) as a TIF file with a CMYK color space.
d) When I do the Save As in PSP, the file looks exactly like it did when first opened in PSP. (Update - if I close the TIF file in PSP, then reopen it, it does look different - greenish tinge, but not as bad as other viewers) But when I look at the file in other programs (IrfanView, MS Publisher, etc) the image is overly green, for example, my olive green logo components are almost bright green, and almost everything else seems to have a slightly greenish tint.
e) By comparison, if I open the postscript file in Irfanview, it renders correctly.
I thought Irfanview would input CMYK files (and apparently it does for .ps files) but my colors are wrong. Is this a TIF output issue with PSP? Or do I need to find another viewer to properly see the TIF file.
repeat error each and every time I use any adjustment on graphics, photos or anything I am working on with PSP X3. Am including a screen shot, edited down to the forum specifics, and I had to edit the screen capture with PSP X2 since to reload PSP X3 will now require my restarting my computer.
I have used Paint Shop Pro since it's very first incarnation as a tiny program courtesy of the folks with Jasc, so this is not my first time using the product, just the absolute worst experience doing so.
No matter what the image, file type, or set-up, when I try to make adjustments (even if I make sure to stop and make double sure they are finished processing), eventually the program locks up and I get the error shown and stated.
The selection tools, i.e. shape, freehand and magic wand, have suddenly stopped working. I do freehand, double click and nothing happens. The freehand selection actually disappears. I click magic wand and nothing happens.
I originally thought I would revert to IE 8, I thought it was because I had switched to IE 10. But I did find someone who blamed it on IE 8, so at this point IE is no longer my default browser.Windows 7 Pro 64-bit on my home computer with IE 10. often when I click on a video or a link on a web page, the attached jpeg comes up, the window turns black and I have to use Task Mgr to kill IE. So until I get to the bottom of this FF is my browser. Is it malware or a virus? MSE and Malwarebytes Pro up to date and frequent scans.
When I resize an image and save it as a jpg when I reopen the file and go to image info it did not resize it at all. This is a 2 second job and now 1 hour later, I cannot work out why in the world PSP X6 cannot perform a simple task.
I have been using PSP since jasc released version 4. I was a long time user of 7, 9 and then X2.
Beginning with X3 and now X4 the Auto-Preserve function does not work. I especially miss this feature when running batch process. This is my primary reason fro skipping over X3 waiting for X4.
The function works fine in x2, but it never did in the trials of X3 or now the trial of X4. The feature is enabled. I selected "Yes, do this every time" the first edit I preformed. Verified in preferences as well.
