Photoshop :: CS6 Smartobject - Changing Color Space Not Working
Jan 15, 2013
If I initially open a smartobject from ACR into PS CS6 using one color space, eg. sRGB, should it then be possible to click back into ACR and change color space to Adobe RGB ???
This is important to me, since working most of the time in sRGB, batch editing lot's of files (for timelapse-video, hence sRGB), but sometimes it may be nessecary to go back and use Adobe RGB to make a best possible print of one of the stills.
This is not working for me. I thought I should be able to do absolutely non-destructive editing when working with smartobjects from ACR, but this may seem to not be the case.
I calibrated my monitor and is using sRGB as working space in photoshop cs2.
If I open an adobeRGB tagged photo, photoshop says profile mismatch. If I choose to convert adobeRGB to sRGB, would some colors get clipped by the smaller sRGB space?
Suppose I want my working space to be adobeRGB, what are all the color management related things I need to change, in addition to choosing adobeRGB as the working space in photoshop? Do I need to change the monitor calibration process?
I've just got a new monitor and i have downloaded an ICC profile to use as i don't have calibration hardware yet. I've loaded it in Windows using color management. My question now is what color 'working space' i should set in Photoshop.
I must say that learning about color has been a steep learning curve for me so I have tried to avoid it as much as i can!!! If a total novice guide on color has been covered in another thread just point me there!
How to adjust the user interface color (dark to light)? I tried used changing the color working space colors but it didn't seem to make a difference. dark interface hard to read.
Accustomed to Element 5. New to 9. How do i change workspace color? I don't like the grey and black backgrounds or headers. All is too dark and it's distracting.
I downloaded a trial version of PSP X4. When i export an image from ASP in ProPhoto RGB color profile, PSP insist to convert it to sRGB. I wonder what is the color profile that been used by PSP as the working space?
The color space on the selected images appears to be changing when I use the Lightroom flash gallery in the web module of LR4.1. This stays the same when the gallery is uploaded. In previous version of LR I have seen color changes in the web module but they have been corrected (and correct) when the gallery is uploaded to the 'net.
I have read that this was (previously) a problem with the flash gallery specifically becuase it was not colour magaded, but I understood that this had been corrected for LR4. As far as my use is concerned it's actually more problematic now than it has been previously.
I just downloaded and installed the PSP X4 Ultimate, I'd like to try it before I buy it. When I installed the software, I tried to access"Color Working Space", because I work with Adobe1998 and I wanted to change the work space, but every time I try to access PSP crashes.
I installed LR5 from LR4 yesterday and each time I open an image in CS5 from my LR5, I get the following message:
The document "IMG_9082.CR2"has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded: Adobe RGB (1998)
Working sRGB IEC61966-2.1
What would you like to do?
-Use the embedded profiel (instead of the working space) -Convert documents's colors to the working space -Discard the embedded profile (don't color manage)
My camera's settings have it set with sRGB, LR4 and LR5 have sRGB and I have CS5 workspace as sRGB. This did not happen before.
Is it possible that when LR5 updated the LR4 catalogue, it changed the profile of all my photos? I don't know, maybe I've done something, but I can't see what as I don't remember changing anything.
I'd like to change a layer's color from command line because of a user icon. I figured out from previous topics that I should use macro similar to this: ^C^C_filedia;0;-la;s;Verdeckt (ISO);c;1;l;dashed;;_filedia;1;re;
(I want to use this macro to change layer's linetype, too, but that's not the point)
The only problem with this macro: layer's name contains a space therefore Autocad tries to recognize Verdeckt as a command (and macro interrupts there) instead of setting Verdeckt (ISO) as the current layer. I've tried using different quote marks, none of them worked (' and " and <>). I hope there's a method for entering a parameter that contains space.

The problem I have is I cannot change the brush to pure black; it's only dark gray and normal methods of changing the color aren't working.I went to Brushes, selected one of the Artistic_Ink brushes. (And drew a design)
I tried double clicking on it in the Brushes palette and in the "Art Brush Options" the colorization was already set to Tints. I tried all the other options but the color of the artistic brush is still dark gray; not black.
What else can I do to change the brush to pure black?
When I export RAW files, specifying that I want the output to be in sRGB color space the resulting files have the Adobe RGB color space. The same is true if I specify I want them in ProPhoto. Is this a bug? I have done it successfully in other versions of Lightroom, but not in 4.3.
Today, all of a sudden, two of my most used functions—holding down the space bar to move the image around and holding down CMD-space bar to zoom—just up and quit on me (I do like the "Scrubby" but it took a little getting used to. It's very touch screen-esque).
I did all of the normal trouble shooting such as deleting the prefs, relaunching, restarting, etc. Nothing. The functions work fine in the other CS5 programs.
I checked through all of the prefs thinking that perhaps I accidentally changed something but I couldn't find anything. If all else fails, I'll do an uninstall/reinstall but only as a last resort.
I did notice that Adobe finally fixed the Distort (in Full Screen Mode) bug that was killing me in CS4.
[URL] Bug is where the Hand move (by holding down Space bar and dragging) stops working. Issue appears to be a conflict with web browsers.
This bug is still present in Photoshop version 12.1 (CS 5). I don't use Firefox, I use Safari and Chrome. Quitting Safari did not fix the problem. Quitting Chrome DID fix the problem.
In 2012 Autocad, cannot change from model space to paper space, or paper space to model space without locking up in several drawings.

I can log into another user's computer and open the file fine. But when i use my computer or a brand new computer fitting all Auto CAD specs, it locks up. When I plot I have to reset my settings to the PTE standards every time.
I now get CAD errors when CAD is not even open. Also VTPSUHM barely works. I generally have to restart my computer several times to get it to work.
In model space I set the units form my dwg (cm), draw a line (100units). Next i go to paper space, create a viewport. When the viewport scale is set to 1:1 the ploted line is 100mm in length (not 100cm). Why is this so? How should I correct this? Changing of units in model space does not effect the length of the line in paper space.
I am having trouble in changing the color of the bullets without changing the text color. Problem is I cannot select/highlight just the bullet so any new color selected applies to the whole line including bullet and text. I am using DP v 7.
I've noticed that if I convert the same image to multiple color spaces and apply a 3D LUT with the new Color Lookup adjustment, the result is noticeably different. From experimenting, it seems that the lookup tables operate on whatever RGB value is given to them no matter what color space.
Is there a certain color space these were optimized for? For instance, would a certain color space give me a more authentic 2-strip look than another because of the space they were sampled in? And if I create my own 3D LUTs, would I have to create a separate one for each color space in order to get a consistent look in all spaces?
From what I always understood, the WORKING SPACE color profile affected real-time interpretation of the data on the screen. In other words, no changes to the WORKING SPACE color profile would actually affect the file -- only how it's displayed on your screen (like monitor settings).
Now, my problem is that everything I have printed at the printers comes out a shade darker than I intended it to. This means that my WORKING SPACE color profile is too bright, correct? By simply darkening it to match what I've got on paper, I will have better control over how things come out on the printed page.
Am I understanding what the WORKING SPACE color profile is, so far?
If so, why doesn't anything change when I cycle through them in Color Settings (Shift+Ctrl+K)? Even after showing MORE options, cycling through the dozen (or so) available WORKING SPACE options doesn't do anything to the file I've got open.
Short of darkening my entire desktop via video card or monitor color settings, how do I make documents in Photoshop appear darker, so that what I see on screen matches what gets output to paper?
I like my every day color settings (and brightness levels) just the way they are. The only thing I was to see darker are Photoshop documents, inside Photoshop.
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit & Radeon graphics card. I have been having trouble with my space bar. This is what I've been doing...
New Layer > Ellipse tool > Draw a cirlce > Duplicate Layer > (reselect) Ellipse tool > select the Subtract Front Shape < this is where I need to use the space bar so that I can center the new circle (inside) so that I have a nice border that's evenly spaced around the entire circumference.
However, when I go to hold down the space bar so that I can use my mouse pad to move the circle around it will not move and the hand icon does not appear. The box that contains the H/height & W/width gains the X & Y information. However, intermittently the hand icon will appear but even when it is present I still cannot move anything. When the hand icon does intermittently appear I have not changed anything.
I have checked to make certain that my mouse pad doesn't have any sort of setting(s) that would prevent the mouse pad action when a key is being pressed ~ at least to the best of my rather newbie experience.
I have read that some have had problems with CS5 regarding this same matter but their issue was resolved simply by closing whatever browser they had open concurrently (with Ps). I tried this but it did not resolve my problem.
I had used the Beta of CS6 and it worked just fine which I find rather odd. I reset the preferences by hitting Shift+Alt+Ctrl and that also did not work. Also, if you don't know how I could go about resolving this issue do you know of an other way in which I would be able to move the circle when the Subtract Front Shape is in use? I have tried making the new circle and then just using the Move tool at the top of the tools bar.
I have just got a Laptop with windows 8, and put my Photoshop CS5 on, so far eveything works appart from the space bar hand tool, which I use a lot.Its not working in RAW either.
I'm exporting Tiff Prophoto files from Lightroom into PSPX4 for further processing. The images are 1 to 2 stops under exposed when compared to Lightroom's image.I have selected PSPX4 color profile to match LR export color space.
I have tried exporting the Tiffs as sRGB and adode1998 and still the images are under exposed. I have little knowledge about color management and have searched around the web for possible answers, but no luck.
I'm having a small problem with some drawings that have been sent to me for setting out on site. Basically I have 3 separate sets of drawings from architects and engineers, all of the same building but all using a different co-ordinate system. I know that the engineers is using the correct grid for my setting out but unfortunately I only have it in pdf. so I can't copy and paste layers from the other drawings into it.
Is there a way that I can alter the co-ordinates of the other 2 drawings in model space to shift them to the correct grid system?
If i want to get my files offeset printed so they will be done in CMYK...The word "working space" CMYK confuses me a little i thought printer profiles would be "output space" or something
1. Are the CMYK working space options in photoshop actually printer profiles? eg. U.S Web coated (SWOP) v2 2. I ask the guys who do the offset printing what printer profile they use and that is the one i should select in photoshop. 3. So when I soft proof it uses the CMYK working space and my file is previewed or it mimics what i would look like printed on the paper/ink combination at the printers. 4. All the CMYK working spaces available in photoshop are all ICC compliant?
I am on ACAD 2012 overlaying dimensions in paperspace to objects in model space..The dimensions keep changing to an incorrect number..Can't identify when it is happening yet. The dimensions are always larger
If I change dim style and back again the correct dimension appears. I can then matchprop to get the other dimensions to appear correctly. But twenty minutes later they are all changed again
I turned of Annotative scale for dimension features and use overall scale of 1.
Since I installed the 2014 Inventor, my 3Dconnexion Space Navigator refuses to keep the settings I program for the buttons. I tried updating to the latest version of the driver, but that didn't work. I also tried unchecking the autosave function in the driver, but they still get changed anyway and then the driver asks if I want to save the changes.
