Just upgraded to PSP4. In the older versions I could open multiple images into the workspace. Each one had a border with a banner at the top identifying each picture. Each one would come forward by clicking on it. I could move them around and position them so I could even clone from one to another. Can I not do that in PSP4,

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to dock three palettes vertically on the right side of my work space but have had no luck at all. I have preferences checked to allow docking and have used the drop down on each palette to mark "docking" as opposed to floating. However, the palettes always stack horizontally (left to right) and very large as opposed to vertically and sized as I want them. I can float each palette and drag each to the right of the screen as shown but they will not dock like this. I have attached a capture file of what I want to happen and another with what happens.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded PSP 13...I can't put a few photos on the work space....I only see one photo at a time and when I move a photo I see the checkered area and not the other photos...at the top left I see the photo names and i can click on them and the photo appears but only one at a time...around each photo I always had an area where I could see the X at the top right , click on it and the photo would leave...but now it's hard to see where the X is...

When I drag an image from the organizer to Edit and then want to edit another image, it closes the first image and I don't want it closed. How do you have multiple images open in Edit from the Organizer?

When I double-click an image file name in Windows Explorer a new instance of PSP7 is opened for each image. What I need is to open multiple images in one instance of PSP when I double-click the image name.
I'm a new user of PSP X3, having upgraded from X2 and previously from X. When I used earlier versions, I could have numerous images open in the workspace, re-sizing, comparing, cross-cloning, etc. Now with X3 I can't seem to find any setting that will allow that same multiple image viewing. I've looked at the documentation but can't find any mention of this issue.
Am I just missing some checkbox or did Corel abandon this capability?
I am just trying to identify and select a group of photos which I can then copy to an external USB drive to have prints made. I know how to identify and select the photos. I have been unable to figure out an easy way to copy all of the selected photos to an external drive.
I can use 'Save As' to copy individual photos, but have been unable to figure out how to simply create a 'tag' and then copy all of the tagged photos to the drive. I can also copy all of the photos to a Media Tray, but cannot figure out how to work with a group of photos rather than just an individual photo.
I have a PSPIMAGE file with a plenty of images as different layers. I am adjusting the images having one image "size" as reference (make same width and height). But I could select the multiple images just through layers pallete
whether is possible to select multiple pictures (each in different layer) by using the "pick tool" direct in the canvas (or other means)?
I've just recently purchased PSP X4 since they touted that it was much faster loading and more stable (X3 was horrible about crashing). I continue to be amazed at how they (Corel) can just keep digging a hole instead of actually improving this product. I can see why they continue to lose market share.
1) I can no longer open mulitple images at the same time for side-by-side comparison. The work area now will only accommodate 1 open file at a time.
2) I miss not having the file size included in the data box that appears when you hold the cursor over a thumbnail. It was always handy when downsizing (resizing) photos for posting.
3) It is a pain now to have to go back and forth from the "EDIT" tab to the "MANAGE" tab to view full-sized photos (without having to open one at a time). They really screwed the pooch in X2 or X3 (can't remember) when they got rid of the old Organizer format. It was soooo easy to navigate; you had a screen full of thumbnails, you saw what you wanted and clicked it open....just too easy I guess!!! I was hoping they would go back to it for this version. I know in other forums, this change really rankled a lot of users. They just seem to bounce around trying different things. I wonder who the h*ll they use to test this stuff in-house.
I do like the faster speed, but don't know if I'll go for any more versions after this or not (been here since V.7 when JASC owned it). Big mistake selling if off to Corel. I've just about had it and there is some decent up and coming competition out there nowdays.
I downloaded a trial version of PSP X4. When i export an image from ASP in ProPhoto RGB color profile, PSP insist to convert it to sRGB. I wonder what is the color profile that been used by PSP as the working space?

I have PSP x3 on my computer, it uses over 1 gig of space on my hard drive. I just installed PSPx4 on my computer and it only uses a little less than 400 megabites. Is this correct, or is something not right here. Also did they replace Express Lab with Adjust?

For some reason, the new version creates this little "empty space" at the end of text which I cant figure out how to get rid of! I attached a screenshot to show you what I mean. Is there any way to remove this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have X4 Ultimate installed with KPT Effects & Nik Color Effex Pro 3. I now also have X5 Ultimate installed. Now X5 came with the same Nik Color Effex but I haven't installed it yet.Does KPT Effects from X4 will work in X5? Can I copy the folder from X4 into X5? (Same question pertains to the NIk Color Effex. Useful to install it again when it's already intalled to get it working in X5.)
I thought about just trying to point X5 to the X4 plugin folder but after just trying that with something else, I'm a little leary. I tried to point X5 to the Photoshop CS6 folder where AlienSkin Eye Candy 6 installed. But right after doing that and re-starting PSP, the startup box hung. I used task manager to stop it but the program still opened anyway. I knew that wasn't right, so I removed the link to that folder and X5 opened normally again. The newest installer for Eye Candy 6 won't let me do a custom install. So, how to get the filter working in X5.
Anyway, my main question is if I can get the KPT effects from X4 working in X5 and if so what I need to do.
Having trouble with topaz remask plug-in. Is there another program that works with PSP or am I out in the cold?

every time a open a picture and choose the text tool it is in "vector mode" but I do not want this mode.
under Windows 7 pro and psp13.2.0.14 it don't work anymore. I even try to make it work in an old version of psp: V9.10. It still didn't work. Does any of you know something about kpt 5.1? I think it fail because of upgrades by Windows7 pro.

The only part that shows is the "Enhance Color Balance" box, the words "purple" and "green" just above, and the preview arrow (which does nothing) and "preview on image". Preview on image is checked and it does show changes but I am unable to uncheck it. Nothing else shows. Nothing I have tried has worked, including restarting the computer.
View 6 Replies View Relatedgot the new Alien Skin plugins to work. When you install Alien Skin, you install to a single directory, both 32 bit and 64 bit plugins. Then in X5, File Locations, I put that directory in the settings but still nothing. maybe X5 doesn't work with them.

But with the contents from two or more layers, not just one. The move tool seems to always move the background layer, although it's locked. What am I missing. View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running PaintShop Pro X5 15.1.0.10 on Windows 8 (64-bit). I just tried to create a drop shadow, possibly for the first time since I upgraded from X4, and it just doesn't work. I mean nothing happens.
I added a white border, as usual, and then tried to create my drop shadow. I tried it with the default settings, and I tried it with some random settings. As I said, nothing whatsoever happened.
Inner bevel and buttonize work just fine. (I haven't tried cutout.) Chisel also doesn't seem to work; in fact, it seems to come and go. It's the same with outer bevel: it isn't always available.
I'm not a novice when it comes to PaintShop Pro. I've been using it since it was shareware. I've certainly done drop shadows many times.
I'm completely baffled. Other than uninstalling and re-installing, I can't think what to do.
Screen capture doesnt work in psp x4. I tried searching for this but no info at all on it. I have to resort to using the print screen option in windows and then paste as new image.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have used PSP since version 7 but mostly for graphics. I have recently purchased a dslr camera and upgraded to PSP X4. I am slowly learning some of the photo editing features but would like imput on the best workflow for "fixing" digital photos. I am aware that all digital photos need some sharpening and some noise removal. My question is this -- should the sharpening and noise removal be after other adjustments (brightness, clarify etc.) or should those come first? I should mention that I have been shooting all pictures in RAW.

The histogram is missing from the histogram adjustment window. Everything is there and works but no histogram. How can you adjust it without histogram? What is up with this? It works in x2.
