View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new computer (Windows 7) and I don't like the default "Paint" program that comes with it. I've been using the Windows XP paint program for a long time and Paint.Net was the closest thing I could find to it.
I don't use Paint to edit photos or create super detailed artwork. I use it to draw little things (the image size is usually 50x50 or 100x100 pixels) and zooming in to 400%-800%. I've used paint.net a few times but I was wondering if there was a place in the program that would let me set preferences. It would just save a little time making it more convenient and less frustrating.
These are the things that I would like to change:
1: When moving a selected item it automatically leaves a "checker board" pattern on the image. It's relatively easy to fix with the "Paint Bucket" tool. Though if there was an option to make it only leave the default area white it would be a time saver.
2: When moving a selected item it will automatically replace the image beneath where you place it. In the Windows XP program there was an option to either replace an image or to replace all other colors except white (255green+255red+255green on the custom color spectrum). Is there an option like that in this program?
3: After moving a selected image (using the "rectangle select" tool then the "move selected pixels" tool) is it possible to simply de-select the selected image without having to click on the "rectangle select" tool and right clicking? In other words, being able to move an image, deselect the image, then automatically return the tool to "line" tool?
4: While using the "Line/Curve" tool the 4 click and drag points automatically appear on it to make it "curve-able" so is there a way to just leave it as a solid line without those 4 selectable points appearing?
5: Is there a way that I can make "Line Tool" my default cursor instead of pencil?
My workflow depends on being able to see my desktop while I work on images in PS. CS6 now has an application background (canvas?) that prevents this:

View 1 Replies View RelatedYou basically have to click "Expand canvas" every single time you paste a screenshot larger than the canvas. Sure, open a canvas that size, etc etc, but I'm looking for a permanent solution which would allow you to use the "Expand" choice AUTOMATICALLY, by default, without a popup. On that note, here's another annoying thing. Whenever I open images, crop out something, open a new one, paste it there, save it, etc, I usually have tons of unsaved images which I no longer need. I just want to exit the whole thing altogether without any save popups, etc. Like you would do in MSPaint. Open a canvas, paste in something, save it or don't, exit, the program closes nice and fine. My problem is:
This. I don't want to save every single image separately, because I no longer need them. Neither do I want to manually click each and every single one and tell it not to save, nor do I want to click "Don't Save" every time I exit. This may seem like pointless bitching, but trust me, it really gets on your nerves when you're using the program literally hundreds of times per day.
So, is there any way to disable these popups and define an "automatic" feature, to simply close and enlarge under any circumstances?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to open a .tga image file with Paint.NET.
But instead of the actual image, I just get the grey-and-white transparency grid.
I can see that the image seems to be somewhere behind, because when I use the color-selecting tool on it, I can have the various colors of the image in the color window, with a 0 alpha-transparency.
Is there a way to disable this transparency so I can see the image and be able to modify it ? (I should mention that there is only on layer to that image.)
Every time I insert a USB stick or CD or DVD which contains image files I get a popup window asking me if I want to download those files.
I know that I can disable this annoying window by running MSCONFIG and then selecting STARTUP and then unselecting CorelIOMonitor and Corel Photo Downloader but is there another way of disabling it (as I really prefer not to change STARTUP.
How do I disable, remove, destroy, the image tabbing (document) feature that is anoying as heck? I don't want tabs. Every time i enlarge an image (scrollwheel) or i drag an image close to the top of the workspace EVERYTHING gets tabbed again. I want to totally remove this feature.

Everything works, but the script will (correctly) give an error message if it's run when no image is open.
The bound icon on the toolbar is always enabled, even if no image is open. Is there a way to have the icon disabled (grayed out) if no image is open?

How to create extra plug-ins for the standards checker. Currently AutoCAD only ships with 4 plug-ins:
Layers
Dimstyles
Textstyles
and linetypes
I'd like to add a plugin at our office to also check table styles, multileader styles, and possibly other things such as making sure our title blocks are at the proper location, or that nothing is drawn on the layer 0 (unless in a block).
Created photo then used file menue, export preset, xrite. It worked but I never got a change to select a name. It came up as "profile". What am I missing. Found the profiles but my camera Cannon Rebel 4ti is not listed. Is there an easy way to change or delete these profiles?

I should point out that this error occurs in both AutoCAD 2011, and AutoCAD 2012 (which these screen shots are from)
My DWS file is correctly configured to have the dimstyle set to be annotative:
Then, I save this file to be a DWT file for our company's standard drawing template.
However, when I configure standards and add the DWS file to the DWT file ...even though the files are identical... I run the standards checker and get this!
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is the CAD Standards Checker not properly recongizing the Annotative Dimension Style?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am deciding to switch over to gimp from pixelmator because of the extra features. However, there is one thing that is making me concerned is some limitations in the filters.
How do I create a checkerboard pattern (using the filter) which has a green color for its primary color and transparency for its secondary color? In pixelmator this is easily done because there are extra color pickers in that filter supports transparency, so no problem. However, this isn't the case in gimp.
Whereas I'm able to get the desktop version of the Color Checker profile maker to work fine, the X-Rite Lightroom plugin consistently fails to complete a profiling operation--quitting with the message that it "is unable to locate the color checker crop marks" in my image. In one such "failed" image, the (in focus) color checker occupies about 75% of the frame! I'm using LR 3.6, Mac OS X 6.8. Latest versions of the X-Rite software. Is this a common problem (making the plugin pretty useless)?
