View 5 RepliesIs it possible to disable Photoshop CS6's "On-Canvas Info Display," the "small information pop-ups [that] are displayed near the cursor when using a variety of tools"? (circled in red below). I know it's a cool thing but it sometimes gets in the way. I'm running PS CS6 extended on 64 Bit Windows 7.

I have turned off the new interface in Photoshop CC, but I still get a large "Master Window" appearing behind the first file I open. When I click to close this window it closes my file too! How can I get rid of that big Master window?
I bought Adobe creative suit 6 design standard yesterday. when using photoshop, the background canvas flickers and becomes transparent when i do things (zoom, erase, brush)
I have followed the solution of changing the drawing mode to Basic, but it is still an issue and is making photoshop unusable.
I can not for the life of me figure out what is causing this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI paint the background the same exact color as my layer background, the canvas color is not exactly the same. I'm assuming it's a color management/profile kind of issue, but I keep that stuff off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCanvas size occasionally the canvas extension colour is greyed out this can happen on any file ie jpg tiff or PSD.
View 5 Replies View Relatedbasically i have the need to create a wallpaper, i haven't done one in some time, not a decent one anyway. and I'm having some slight trouble.
I Have this image so far:
and i need the background area behind the soldiers to span across the whole canvas, creating a gradient and adding the smoke in will take ages and it probably wont look as good as hoped. my clone brush tool doesn't work because of a thing ubuntu has with the alt key, it stops me defining a source point the healing brush gets nowhere but where the Pixels are already not beyond.
I'm currently contemplating grabbing the end witht the select, duplicating it and blurring it, whether or not it looks daft is another matter.
I want to increase my canvas size, but not with a color. When I choose exisiting background it just chooses one color. I want to extend the exisiting background image out. t

View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while I print that has two side-by-side images on one piece of paper. My usual routine is to create a new document that is larger than the two images--say, 10x8 (horizontal) with a transparent background and the same resolution as the two images that I'll be placing on the canvas (say, two 4x3's). Then I simply click on the image I want to move and drag it from its layers palette onto the blank background canvas, and move/edit/size as needed.
when I drag an image over to the blank canvas, it assumes the size of the entire canvas. so I just have the image... enlarged. With no background canvas. when I click on the new image (the one dragged to the canvas), all of the editing commands are grayed out. So I cannot resize or move it.I'm on CS5 (mac)
I have an icon I want to add text and another icon to...
so I incresed the canvas size the existing icon has a stronger checkered background than the "new area...
and: I cannot do (except for pasting another image) anything with the weakly checkered area??
do I need to add transparent background first for the new area?
I wanted to combine two images one needs to be fit to the scale of the background image. So basically I followed the instructions.
Open up your background layer which was 800x600 landscape photo.
Then I imported my other image which was 600x800 portrait photo too. Layers -Import from file. I resized it then copied into a new layer. That was fine.
The problem is as soon as the new image is imported, the background image changes so that it only takes up half of the canvas. So now I've got a white area for half of the canvas. I can't seem to change this.
When I add a image to my background my background shrinks to the top left hand corner of canvas. I have been trying to do this every night for a week now and held out posting until I gave up. Also when I try to paste an image I get a message saying I don't have enough memory (I have 20 GB of memory free). I tried to find Pleska plugin for adding from file but could not find it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up photoshop cs3 the background color comes up white. I like it when its grey, like in cs2. I know there is a way to change this color in cs2, I just can't remember how. It's some simple shortcut.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got CS5.1 at my job. This must be a preference, but when I adjust the Canvas size, it will constrain the image, rather than cropping the canvas. The Anchor in the Canvas Size menu appears outlined (highlighted?) which indicates that this is something in preferences that I can adjust.

No canvas exists. Click New Canvas.
When I go to create a File/New Canvas, sometimes the canvas area shrinks a lot.
Is it possible to keep the original canvas size ?
Is there a rotate canvas plugin for cs2 that works like the rotate canvas in sketchbook pro?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor my organisation, I need to remove some menus in Photoshop CS6.However, when I use Edit --> Menus, and uncheck which menus I don't want to see, "Show All Menu Items" appears.
How I can completely remove some menus, without seeing "Show All Menu Items"?
Its the same box thats in Illustrator and InDesign, only I can't find in Preferences how to disable the annoying thing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Mac, 10.6.8 and PS CS5 12.0.4 with a Wacom Intuos3.
I select a hard round brush and turn off the Transfer > Opacity Jitter > 'pen pressure' option. However as soon as I thouch the tip of my pen down pen pressure turns back on. This is annoying when trying to do a detailed cutout in a layer mask as it leaves behind opaque areas that aren't always visible right away.
Even if I create a new preset with pen pressure off, it comes back on once saved. There must be a way to turn off pen pressure while using the Wacom tablet. Am I missing something?
It keeps messing with my workflow as I use the backspace a lot and the help key (Mac) is really easy to press. Keeps opening my browser which is not a good idea when you're working huge images and you're on a schedule.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Preferences/Interface, I have both OPEN DOCUMENTS AS TABS and ENABLE FLOATING WINDOW DOCKING unchecked. Yet when I drag in files, they TAB themselves! I really don't like tabs, each time I have to manually FLOAT all windows. How can I totally disable tabs?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI try to draw on my graphics tablet, the brush pop-up comes up instead. Aiptek and Vista are unable to correct their problems so I need a way do disable that pop up in Photoshop (CS2). This is the same pop up that comes up if you right-mouse-click on the drawing while the brush tool is selected.
I'd be glad to disable ALL of the right-click pop-ups in Photoshop in order to work around this behavior.
Ever since CS4 came out I feel like I've been less productive in Photoshop due to annoying window dock/snapping. Windows are constantly sticking and resizing themselves in ways that blocks the work I am trying to do.
Also the main image itself automatically resizes to feet the work space and I find this also an annoyance. This is my main question: How can I disable "sticky" windows? In fact if there a way to get the old classic skin back that would be great, also...
because all the programs in CS4 are missing a handle bar at the top of the window, making it difficult to find a place to click to drag the window around...which also wastes time. Sometimes the classic skin is visible underneath buttons in graphic glitches..
Finally, is there a way to disable hardware acceleration completely? My processor is fast enough that it can complete tasks faster than the latency of accessing the GPU, so hardware acceleration actually slows things down. Also the hardware code has bugs in it that prevents me from opening massive images (eg, 21600 x 21600 image crashes).
If I select Free Transform on a selection, and then try to move that selection around on the screen, while I'm moving it, it snaps, and I don't want this 'snap'. How do I disable it? I KNOW that you don't always need to select Free Transform to move a selection, but I NEED to in this case.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with LogTransport program that keeps on creating handles on folders or files that I open/manipulate with Photoshop CS6 (x64).
When I close photoshop, this program is still running and it still has handles open on those folders etc, so I can't delete the folders or files.
Can I permanently disable this program from runnign? I personally don't need it anyways so it's just another annoying crapware that I never intended to install with PS and that keeps making problems. I can't imagine general users dealing with this all the time.
