View 9 RepliesWhen I convert an RGB psd to CMYK color mode in photoshop everything works normally, but when I save as a TIF and open the file in any application other than Photoshop any white space in the image background is yellow.
I am running Photoshop CS4 on Mac OS 10.5.8.
I have made an A4 Flyer (but, will cut to 5 A6 flyer). The background is yellow, but, I just want this to be clear. I'm stuck and can't seem to make it clear.

Files print ok with white background.
I have an oval photo here:

I am trying to get the white background changed to yellow to match the web page. I have followed the instructions in the GIMP manual for bucket fill, Foreground Select Tool, edit>fill with fg or bg color. Nothing works. The only color I can get is black when the fg/bg option is black. In the toolbox I have changed both fg and bg to yellow. Still no change. I would like to change a new canvas to the yellow bg color and then copy and paste my image onto it.
I bought Adobe creative suit 6 design standard yesterday. when using photoshop, the background canvas flickers and becomes transparent when i do things (zoom, erase, brush)
I have followed the solution of changing the drawing mode to Basic, but it is still an issue and is making photoshop unusable.
My workflow depends on being able to see my desktop while I work on images in PS. CS6 now has an application background (canvas?) that prevents this:
View 5 Replies View RelatedI paint the background the same exact color as my layer background, the canvas color is not exactly the same. I'm assuming it's a color management/profile kind of issue, but I keep that stuff off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCanvas size occasionally the canvas extension colour is greyed out this can happen on any file ie jpg tiff or PSD.
View 5 Replies View Relatedbasically i have the need to create a wallpaper, i haven't done one in some time, not a decent one anyway. and I'm having some slight trouble.
I Have this image so far:
and i need the background area behind the soldiers to span across the whole canvas, creating a gradient and adding the smoke in will take ages and it probably wont look as good as hoped. my clone brush tool doesn't work because of a thing ubuntu has with the alt key, it stops me defining a source point the healing brush gets nowhere but where the Pixels are already not beyond.
I'm currently contemplating grabbing the end witht the select, duplicating it and blurring it, whether or not it looks daft is another matter.
I want to increase my canvas size, but not with a color. When I choose exisiting background it just chooses one color. I want to extend the exisiting background image out. t
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while I print that has two side-by-side images on one piece of paper. My usual routine is to create a new document that is larger than the two images--say, 10x8 (horizontal) with a transparent background and the same resolution as the two images that I'll be placing on the canvas (say, two 4x3's). Then I simply click on the image I want to move and drag it from its layers palette onto the blank background canvas, and move/edit/size as needed.
when I drag an image over to the blank canvas, it assumes the size of the entire canvas. so I just have the image... enlarged. With no background canvas. when I click on the new image (the one dragged to the canvas), all of the editing commands are grayed out. So I cannot resize or move it.I'm on CS5 (mac)
I have an icon I want to add text and another icon to...
so I incresed the canvas size the existing icon has a stronger checkered background than the "new area...
and: I cannot do (except for pasting another image) anything with the weakly checkered area??
do I need to add transparent background first for the new area?
I wanted to combine two images one needs to be fit to the scale of the background image. So basically I followed the instructions.
Open up your background layer which was 800x600 landscape photo.
Then I imported my other image which was 600x800 portrait photo too. Layers -Import from file. I resized it then copied into a new layer. That was fine.
The problem is as soon as the new image is imported, the background image changes so that it only takes up half of the canvas. So now I've got a white area for half of the canvas. I can't seem to change this.
When I add a image to my background my background shrinks to the top left hand corner of canvas. I have been trying to do this every night for a week now and held out posting until I gave up. Also when I try to paste an image I get a message saying I don't have enough memory (I have 20 GB of memory free). I tried to find Pleska plugin for adding from file but could not find it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up photoshop cs3 the background color comes up white. I like it when its grey, like in cs2. I know there is a way to change this color in cs2, I just can't remember how. It's some simple shortcut.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got CS5.1 at my job. This must be a preference, but when I adjust the Canvas size, it will constrain the image, rather than cropping the canvas. The Anchor in the Canvas Size menu appears outlined (highlighted?) which indicates that this is something in preferences that I can adjust.

When I go to create a File/New Canvas, sometimes the canvas area shrinks a lot.
Is it possible to keep the original canvas size ?
Is there a rotate canvas plugin for cs2 that works like the rotate canvas in sketchbook pro?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got sent a jpeg of a semi-flat black painted car. The client can only provide these images as they are just for mock ups of sponsors. They asked me to turn the car into a yellow one. What would be the best course to take? I tried adding a new layer in "screen" blending mode.Tried "replace color".Tried using a gradient map.All to no avail. While the car obviously gets the correct color, shadows get washed out and the result is no where "high end". Is there a step I should undertake before changing the car's color, or am I just screwed because of the semi-flat black finish on the car?
I'm not in for a session of painting all shadows and reflections in by hand.
How to do the red & yellow over the three images, I figured it was just a simple brush going over but I tried a bunch of times but it always came off looking horrible & cheap!

On the flickr Photoshop Support group, similar questions are asked several times a week, all looking for that distressed yellow tint affect so beloved by wedding photographers nowadays. It drives me crazy, and not just with how often it was asked, but why so many people would want to ruin a decent photograph.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI seem to have done something to my version of Photoshop 6 (on XP). When I print directly from Photoshop, all prints have a strong yellow cast. If I print the same file from another program (such as Illustrator, etc.), it prints fine (so it's not a monitor calibration issue). Color mode is RGB, all the color settings are normal (Adobe RGB 1998).
I recently replaced my HP printer with a Canon MP810, and I still have the same problem with the new printer!
I've seen this question posted several times on the Web over the years (for Photoshop 6 or 7), but never an answer.
I can't seem to get a neon yellow color, the best I get is a deep gold, how might i enhance it or change it?
