When I add a image to my background my background shrinks to the top left hand corner of canvas. I have been trying to do this every night for a week now and held out posting until I gave up. Also when I try to paste an image I get a message saying I don't have enough memory (I have 20 GB of memory free). I tried to find Pleska plugin for adding from file but could not find it.

But in the bottom of image, it says 680.1K/680.1K.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI wanted to combine two images one needs to be fit to the scale of the background image. So basically I followed the instructions.
Open up your background layer which was 800x600 landscape photo.
Then I imported my other image which was 600x800 portrait photo too. Layers -Import from file. I resized it then copied into a new layer. That was fine.
The problem is as soon as the new image is imported, the background image changes so that it only takes up half of the canvas. So now I've got a white area for half of the canvas. I can't seem to change this.
The dialog box for "Adjust/Highlight-midtone-shadow" has become "locked" at the very top-left corner of my monitor screen.
It's top "grab-bar" and "shadows-value-field" are outside the edges of my monitor.
I cannot "grab" it with my mouse cursor to relocate it. How can I move it into the visible area of my monitor?
I must have hit the wrong key somewhere along the line. Until yesterday,, the ruler on the top and the left side of the canvas was in inches.. now it is in ???? Starts on the left with 0 and ends on the right with 3400 !
How can I get back to inches?
How do I remove the white img. number on the top left corner of my images?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is a notation to a photograph that my grandfather took. The photo was mounted in one of those old albums that had black paper pages. The notation was written with some kind of white colored pen.
How to get the hand written words to stand out better and be on a pretty much pure black background.
I have played around with simple contrast, brightness, etc. and some other features but not gotten the effect I would like. I might not get it but I would like suggestions on a technique that would do this as automatically as possible. I know I could spend the time to get down to a pixel level and clean up the writing then drop it back on to a new black layer. This would be very time intensive and I would have a big learning curve on how to do this.

so I incresed the canvas size the existing icon has a stronger checkered background than the "new area...
and: I cannot do (except for pasting another image) anything with the weakly checkered area??
do I need to add transparent background first for the new area?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created an ipart and want to create a right hand and left hand option of that part. I can mirror the features involved and suppress the mirror feature for the the RH part and so the RH version looks fine.
BUT if the mirror feature for the LH version is in the compute state I get both handing showing. How do I suppress one handing and leave the other for my RH version.
I've been using photoshop CS6 since it came out of beta, and I've been happy with 99% of the interface changes, except for some of the the new tool cursors which now have arrows in the upper left corner. I've been meaning to post this a while ago, but it seemed that the forums were offline.
One example is the crop tool, but what mainly hinders me are the lassos and paint bucket cursor icons. Is there any way I can replace those with the original ones from cs5 and prior?
When you pick up a tool, and it has an icon of an object (i.e. a lasso), your instinct is to look at and use the tip of that object, not some little black arrow in a corner.
For example, you wouldn't want to have an arrow next to your text cursor, or next to your magic wand cursor, would you? You'd want to use the tip of the wand.
I'm not sure what part of the user community suggested these little arrows be added on those tools, but I find it to be a bad design idea. And it's an annoying choice imo, beacause it doesn't make sense from an interaction design point of view, and not because it would be hard for me to get wrid of my habit of using the tip of the lasso, and to get used to the arrow instead. It's bad, because now, there are two conflicting pointers in the same tool: the icon tip and the arrow tip.
[EDIT] I'm sure people will say that they prefer the new design, arguing about "design consistency" and whatnot. So this is why I ask if there's a way for me to replace the cursors in my photoshop, not everyone's.
(XDPX9) - Can't seem to get it to react. I followed both variations of how it's done...
1. Drag the adjoining X & Y at the top left corner of the ruler.... dragged down. Nothing.
2. Page properties - Grid and ruler tab... changed the Y Coordinate. Nothing again.
Made sure 'page' is not 'locked'. All pages same size. Been at it for over an hour and have decided I'm either missing something or maybe I found a bit of a bug?
My page is 'custom' size.... Landscape 1000X600
Normally, when you select an object or a group of objects and you go to copy it/them with Ctrl+V (NOT Ctrl+Shift+V), AutoCAN'T will use the bottom left extents of the object(s) as the base point for what you are pasting. For whatever reason, when I select+copy+paste an object, the base point/origin/whatever you want to call it, is way off and not even near any of the objects.
How can I reset this?
Trying to draw a titleblock for a college assignment and its supposed to start at 5,5 but that is in the middle of the paper (A3 setup). 0,0 is somewhere in the middle too - how do i get 0,0 to be the bottom left corner of the paper in paperspace??

In the past I was able to go into the Adobe Illustrator setting and change some code so when I double clicked in the left corner of the ruler it would switch my origin to lower left. Now there is nothing in the setting folder because this program is on the cloud.

basically i have the need to create a wallpaper, i haven't done one in some time, not a decent one anyway. and I'm having some slight trouble.

and i need the background area behind the soldiers to span across the whole canvas, creating a gradient and adding the smoke in will take ages and it probably wont look as good as hoped. my clone brush tool doesn't work because of a thing ubuntu has with the alt key, it stops me defining a source point the healing brush gets nowhere but where the Pixels are already not beyond.
I'm currently contemplating grabbing the end witht the select, duplicating it and blurring it, whether or not it looks daft is another matter.
My left hand menu is missing?? How do I get it back? Ive tried pressing tab and F but still nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently found out about the 3D features in Photoshop and I started to experiment with them. I've created some nice extrusions. However, when I try to start the render of my current project, it waits a short while and then continues on rendering the rest of the image, leaving a grey box in the upper-left corner. When I zoom in, I can see that the texture is in place and the box starts at the border of the 3D object, not at the border of the image.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, Intel i5-2430M (2.4 GHz), nVidia GeForce GT555M (1 GB) and 8 GB of RAM. I've rendered my other projects successfully with the same settings (all highest quality, though very slow). Could this possibly be a bug in the software, is it an error of mine or is this 3D document just irrenderable?
Yesterday, I went into my presets folder because I was searching for a particular brush, and I noticed a little grey overlay icon with a white line in a 45 degree angle. The little icons sit on top of the presets icons, and they are located to the bottom left hand corner. I tried to search what that means, with no luck. Just in case, I even checked everything with my antivirus, but it doesn't seem to be a virus. What is that? (I'm running Adobe CS6, in a Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit pc)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from ps elements 10 to 12 and have noticed that all of my albums from 10 have disappeared, but to the lower right of each photo thumbnail there is a red album icon, and if I hang my mouse over it, it tells me what album it is in, but the album isn't listed on the left of the screen. I really do not want to recreate these albums, as it would be almost impossible. I am dealing with over 2000 photos over several years (downloaded from discs from the last several years). I need to have these albums back to print, delete, edit, share.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am currently working with a trial version of Lightroom 4.2 and i have been doing some silly things. The end result is that Catalog has disappeared from the left hand panel of the library tab ie i only see Folders, Collections and Publish Services..
I have tried to use File/New Catalog, Open Catalog and Open Recent but, in each case, I get an error box appearing: " ....catalog address refers to a location that is not available" it does not close and re-open LR
Now for the confession as to how this situation arose. I had been using LR quite happily using the catalogue which was automatically created when i started. Then I decided to try creating a new catalogue, in fact I ended up creating a few new catalogues. I decided to remove all the catalogues and start again with one catalogue which I would set up (I was not worried about losing the updates to the photos i had been playing around with) But, as i could find nothing within LR about deleting catalogues, I decided to remove them via Windows Explorer. When i went back into LR, Catalog was still showing in the left hand panel and, when i looked in Explorer, it was in the original folder My Pictures/Lightroom which I thought i had deleted along with all the other catalogues. Presumably it had been re-created automatically as in my original use of LR
I then compounded my mistakes by clicking on the + to the right of Catalog and, for interest, choosing whatever was at the top of the resultant list. It was at this point that Catalog disappeared never to be seen again.
