I have an icon I want to add text and another icon to...
so I incresed the canvas size the existing icon has a stronger checkered background than the "new area...
and: I cannot do (except for pasting another image) anything with the weakly checkered area??
do I need to add transparent background first for the new area?
I wanted to combine two images one needs to be fit to the scale of the background image. So basically I followed the instructions.
Open up your background layer which was 800x600 landscape photo.
Then I imported my other image which was 600x800 portrait photo too. Layers -Import from file. I resized it then copied into a new layer. That was fine.
The problem is as soon as the new image is imported, the background image changes so that it only takes up half of the canvas. So now I've got a white area for half of the canvas. I can't seem to change this.
When I go to create a File/New Canvas, sometimes the canvas area shrinks a lot.
Is it possible to keep the original canvas size ?
Canvas size occasionally the canvas extension colour is greyed out this can happen on any file ie jpg tiff or PSD.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying the trial version of Photoshop CS6, and I'm wondering whether or not it's possible to change the length of a shape with the amount of text entered into it, with the text still being editable? For example, if I had typed in 'hello', the size of the shape should be just big enough for the text to fit inside, without me having to change anything. On the other hand, if I typed in 'good morning', would I be able to make it so the size of the shape would change for the text to fit without having to use the transform tool?
I'm trying to make annotations for a video, and it would be annoying to have to transform to the correct measurements every single time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using PSP for a long time now (fisrtly PSP7 and now PSP9) and I wanted to buy the new version PSPX4. I downloaded the free-trial version and I saw that it is impossible to generate files bigger than 10'000x10'000 pixels. In the canvas size menu, it's impossible to give a higher number. The problem is that a made bigger files with PSP9 and I'd like to keep on working on it without resizing them.
So my question is : Is it only a limitation of the trial version or is it simply impossible to work with bigger images than 10k x 10k ? I hope there is a simple solution because PSP9 encounters some problems with Win7...
I like Paint.net quite a bit more than Gimp. I do, however, like the Single Window Mode in Gimp, allowing me to tab my windows together, then lock the cluster to the side. It doesn't cover the image, either.
I was just wondering if there is a plug in that would emulate something similar for Paint.net? I can't stand constantly moving my windows around based on the size of my image. It drives me up a wall. Even something to restrict the size of the canvas, so it can't go under the windows would work.
It use to be that when I would import a picture that was larger than the current canvas size I was dealing with it, it would ask me if I wanted to enlarge the canvas size or not. Now it just automatically is changing the canvas size and it's driving me nuts because I don't want it to do that!

It's a 10000 x 11299 pixel PNG image. I want to be able to zoom in quite far in order to look at some of the fine details, and make some notes on the image while I go. Unfortunately, as I read elsewhere on this forum, it seems that Paint.NET currently doesn't support a virtual canvas size greater than 32768 x 32768. On this image, that means I get a maximum zoom of 290% before I can't zoom in anymore, which isn't very much. Right now I'm having to use the "Windows Photo Viewer" to actually view and zoom into the image, while making the notes zoomed further out in Paint.NET, which is a bit cumbersome.
I know this is probably non-trivial to fix, but it would be fantastic if you can remove this barrier on the maximum virtual canvas size.
I'm trying out X4, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like the canvas size on X4 at any resolution is much smaller than in X3, e.g., at 200 pixels/inch, X4 allows 50"x50", while X3 allows 164x164". Similarly at 150 pixels/inch, X3 allows 218", while X4 allows approximately 67". Given the fact that X4 is supposed to provide access to more memory, and uses a scratch pad, this does not make sense to me-

When I add a image to my background my background shrinks to the top left hand corner of canvas. I have been trying to do this every night for a week now and held out posting until I gave up. Also when I try to paste an image I get a message saying I don't have enough memory (I have 20 GB of memory free). I tried to find Pleska plugin for adding from file but could not find it.

We are working on a DWG file. Its a project my friend started and is of a house. She now started to bring in furniture from external files. Now her original DWG file is really big. Even if she deletes the furniture she brought in from external files, the original file is still bigger than it was.
I asked her if she could just copy the original 3D house to a new file. She said in a later version of AutoCad, she could just create BOX and save the objects to a new file, but she isn't sure how to do this in AutoCad 2012.
In Short: Is there a way to save her project? She can't even work on it now because the file is so big.
my .oam files getting bigger...i had a little animation that was 1.9mb and 1 month later i make the same animation and i' m getting a 2,9mb file.Not much, but this .oam file is part of a website...so size das matter..
Is there a way, to get smaller sizes? the files are alrready based on the animation size..the animation is 960x320pixels..and i made the pictures 100% based on that measurements..
I would like Abobe to create a patch for this problem affecting so many of us. The menu's font size cannot be adjusted in PSE. It is a HUGE problem for me. I cannot return the product, I lose money, but I am unable to continue with using it. I do not understand why Adobe keeps ignoring this problem. PSE would be a great product - only if Adobe listened to customer input. I am forced to think that Adobe simply does not care enough about its customers, especially not about the older population with presbiopia.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am creating a slider for a site's Home Page, and specified a Stage size of 960 x 255 pixels in my Edge Animate document. When I inserted the .oam file from Dreamweaver (Insert > Media), the dimensions grew to 980 x 275 pixels. Manually correcting the dimensions does not correct the problem. The width remains wider, and a gap exists between the bottom edge of my animate object and the border graphic that overlays the object.
How do I correctly specify the stage size so it remains at the size I specify once I insert the .oam file in my page?

The Anchor in the Canvas Size menu appears outlined (highlighted?) which indicates that this is something in preferences that I can adjust.

Can someone please explain to me about file sizes and image dimensions. I have to put together a collage which is 165mm high by 258mm wide. If I click file new and choose default resolution (72) then the file size is ok, if I type in 300 dpi the image becomes huge.
If i chosse 300 dpi then the images I was going to use seem tiny on such a vast workspace - Im confused why does the canvas become so large when changing resolution?
I need to generate some decent grain/noise bakground for web page of size 128x128 or similar size.
I found - Grain Generator at [URL] ...... but it does not allow setup a spicle/grain size only 1pixel. I want dirrerent and random sizes from 1x1px up to 4x4px size.
Can it be simply generated in PSP X2/X4 or some good even online generator?
