Paint.NET :: How To Get Hand Written Words To Stand Out Better On Black Background
Oct 1, 2011
This is a notation to a photograph that my grandfather took. The photo was mounted in one of those old albums that had black paper pages. The notation was written with some kind of white colored pen.
How to get the hand written words to stand out better and be on a pretty much pure black background.
I have played around with simple contrast, brightness, etc. and some other features but not gotten the effect I would like. I might not get it but I would like suggestions on a technique that would do this as automatically as possible. I know I could spend the time to get down to a pixel level and clean up the writing then drop it back on to a new black layer. This would be very time intensive and I would have a big learning curve on how to do this.
When i try to pan across the screen with the hand icon, there is a black x there and it wont pan, I am working on a poject and its hindering me very much!
I'm making an ad for my group on ROBLOX. I'm using PyroChild's splatter plugin and I'm typing the words I want on the ad on a separate background (So I can turn them diagonally, ect) but if I "Rectangle select" the letters and past them, it puts white over my splatter, If I "Magic wand" the letter it doesn't get the whole letter (I'm typing In a font where each letter has a few different pieces.) How do I put the words on the background without messing up my background?
When I add a image to my background my background shrinks to the top left hand corner of canvas. I have been trying to do this every night for a week now and held out posting until I gave up. Also when I try to paste an image I get a message saying I don't have enough memory (I have 20 GB of memory free). I tried to find Pleska plugin for adding from file but could not find it.
Basically I'm trying to print a bar code onto black card. I need there to be a white background underneath the bar code otherwise the entire thing will come out black.
I've tried creating a "draw filled shape" with white and pasting the bar code onto a layer above that but it does not work!
Corel SP1. I now have toolbars I can see clearly, but the black background makes it impossible to tell if an image has a thin black perimeter border. Last release I could drag the window to size it larger than the image and it was easy to see. The attachment shows the trouble and I can't find where or how to change just the background color of the work surface without changing the color of the workspace that now works best for me.
i have a few scans of documents which are 20-30 years old. Some text on this documents is written on a typewriter. Now im trying to make this text to be more clear in relation to the background.
I tried to to this using Curves and Levels. The text is getting darker as i want it, but also the background changes which is what i dont want, because if i do this on a rectangular selection it is visible. Curves is quite ok, but it still changes the background to much in my opinion. Is there a way only to make the text more black without changing the background much? You can view the original text and my tries here i full resolution here:
I have seen photos where the background is black. Is it possible to do this with Photo Pro X3 Ultimate? If so, how? I'm retired (read as "older" and not as sharp as a younger person) and new at digital photography.
I just learned how to make the background of my images transparent and am learning how to use layers. I am trying to save my pictures to picasa and photoshop so they are backed up and I can easily access them from any computer. I noticed that some of the pics are showing up all black. It's like the colors are inverted almost. I can kinda see the image in white, but mostly the whole thing is black. I noticed the same thing happened when I tried to open some of the images in paint.
I checked to see if they are all the same file type and they are not. Some are gif and some are png.
Also, some of my images won't open in windows photo gallery. They open in a blank web page. I originally go to my pictures and find them there, but when I click on them they open a page in IE instead of windows photo gallery so I can't crop them or anything.
I am trying to work on a project where I print silhouettes or simple images on vintage sheet music to use as art. I need to be able to take them to a print shop to have this done and I can't do that if the images show up black or won't open in a regular program.
I am attaching a pic that saved black like I talked about and a pic of what it is supposed to look like.
found some old documents where my deceased father went over some of the words with a black marker so no one can read them. Obviously, she wants to read them. I scanned the papers in but I cannot figure out a way to see if I can remove the marker or lighten it to read the words underneath. Is this even impossible? I can post a snippet of one document if you want.
I'm making some signs for my veggie stand for when we open. the problem I'M having is that I can change the font size ok but after I go back and try to add color to were i want it on the text won't let me do a thing.
I'm making a commercialized game for a company and i use Paint net, i have down loaded some of the older plugins for use but what i;m looking for is to curve or circle the written text that i have done on a game box.
I am trying to put words over a transparent background....These words will be placed on a deer hunting video that I am making......Can anyone help me with getting the background transparent? When I try to do it i always get a white background....
Just wants to get some simple "animated words" traced with a white background (instead of the background being "dimmed" looseleaf paper)
To explain, here's a comparison example of what I'm trying to achieve:
Imagine the phrase: EGG-CELERATING THE PACE OF FERTILITY
Where the letter E is: The vertical part of the E is a stalk of Celery The horizontals of the E are cartons of Eggs.
Where the "P" of Pace looks like a basic line drawing of a "pacing shoe" ...with perhaps "anxious" looking eyes drawn inside the shoe ...yet still look like a P
...and the remainder is [roughly] like my attached letters on Dim looseleaf background. (see attached)
How would you achieve the EGG-CELERATING phrase? I bet an expert could achieve this within 1/2 hour or less, can't they? So I'm trying to achieve the same as the above:
...albeit it's a different phrase, and different BASIC pics. ...in other words, it's mostly outlined-alphabet, but including 4 basic pictorial-letters, and some more letters containing "eyes"
P.S. Regarding the attachment, note that I placed that in a Layer which I called Layer1
Then tried selecting it & changing background to White But was unsucessful.
Currently working on a PowerPoint styled animation.I've parented the source text of 5 text layers to 1 text layer so I can easily alter the text. It is essential that I have 5 identically texted layers.
My requirement isn't much: To assign colors to individual words without having to separate those words into different layers.
How to change black and white hand-prints into color for some art work for my kids. I am already able to switch between black and white between the foreground and background, but not able to change all of the black "color" to a different color including all the minor lines on the hand and foot prints.
I used some white rectangles to change the shape of black letters on a white background. Now I want this combination of letters & rectangles to be just letters when I select them etc. (make the white rectangles blend with the background and still have the shape they left on the letters) How can I do that?
I seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.
I have just purchased this upgrade software having used XARA Xtreme4.0 for many years. How can I change the black background screen with white writing to grey with black writing?
I'm having in CS6..I have a text block with a couple of styles in it (headings have one look, body copy has another). Here and there, some words are on bold. When I select some bold words and change the color of them, some other bold words in some other paragraph also change color. Not all bold words... just some. The behavior is unpredictable, so the exact words that get changed will vary, but once it starts to happen it won't stop. When I try to manually fix the other words (hopefully I noticed them before my client!) and change them back to black, sometimes that change reverses the color on the original words too. Sometimes not; it's like the effect is sometimes two-way and sometimes one-way. It becomes a real logic puzzle sometimes, a maddening game where every change affects something else and you can't find the combination of actions that will do the simple thing you want.
I haven't noticed it happening with non-bold text, but that could just be coincidence.
When this happens, the only fix seems to be to rebuild the text from scratch in a new text box. (Copying it all and re-pasting it does not seem to work—unless possibly I paste into a different document entirely.)
I have a modeled right hand part and a detail drawing of that right hand part with a pin that defines r.h from l.h. and I would like to save them as a left hand part then change the model by reversing the pin. How would I proceed with this task?
I have seen pictures with a total pitch black background,
how did they transformed a normal background into a pitch black background? Someone told me they used a photoshop so I browsed around but all I found was a tutorial on how to isolate a section of the photo and turn it into a black and white background which is not what I was after.
