3ds Max :: Mr Sky Portal Seen In Render?
May 9, 2013I sometimes use mr Sky portals exclusively to light my scene. Is there a way to have them not appear in the rendering? I would like to shoot my camera directly through one, but it renders white.

3ds Max :: Rendering And Interior - Using Sky Portal Over A Door
Apr 11, 2012I'm rendering and interior and I am using a sky portal over a door. As you can see from the attached image I have 2 problems. I can't upload the whole image for client confidentiality
You can see artifacts on the wall and ceiling. I have up the sky portal shadows to 128 and it has improved a little bit. If I keep raising this the scene will take too long to render. I am using FG medium setting and GI default settings.
The second problem it is very over exposed. I am using MR physical Sky. I put an image in the custom background and played around with the output setting but I still can't get the image to show.

Aug 24, 2011I seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.

But I want to know how to rid the black in the background and around the fire without erasing the shadows in the fire and making it look like I did so. Dec 11, 2013I am using the Color Exchange feature in Gimp 2. I am trying to change a red background to black. The Color Exchange feature allows me to do that, however, it comes out with only part of the color changed and it all very blotchy.

Photoshop :: Project Only Showing Black Background?
Jan 23, 2013So I was using Photoshop (CS5) when I was told that our power would have to be momentarily turned off due to work being done in our kitchen. Anyway, I saved my project and closed photoshop and then the power was turned off (I did not properly shut down Windows).
When I got back onto Photoshop I tried opening the project I was working on to find that all of the layers were gone and it only showing a black background canvas. When I click on the project once in the open window, it shows a thumbnail of the image as it should be and how it was saved, but when I open it it only shows a black background.
I do have another copy from not too far back but I have lost a few hours of work which I'd obviously prefer not to redo.

Oct 12, 2013When I open a picture in photoshop, any picture, I see the picture and all around it is a background color. It has nothing to do with the picture or any work being done on the picture. This has to do with the color that comes up on the screen regardless of the picture. It was black and I hit something and it is now blue. I want this to go back to black.
I tryed clicking on the link below, selecting black for a background color and clicking and nothing changes.

May 26, 2006My photoshop brushes only work on a black background. And they only work as white. I figured it was just the one group, but it isn't. It's ALL of them. Did I do something wrong? Formerly the smudge tool removed color from the working layer revealing the layer below (i.e., the working layer was transparent to the layer below). I tried blending modes (the best were screen and linear dodge), but it would not look good on a white background. I do not want to use magic wand, because it would not look so natural and blended. Jun 10, 2013I am, using Ai (CS6). I've produced a poster I'm fairly happy with, but black background is affecting red and green type on top of the black...
Possibly one hint towards a solution is that I have one photo with a transparency and the lettering that is on top of that transparency isn't affected by the black background.
The transparency was started by creating a cut-out of a mugshot in Ps CS6, using the magnetic tool, previously creating a transparent background layer.
Anyway, the long and the short is, if a tiff photo transparent background can keep out the black background, how can I create a transparent layer with similar properties.
