I cannot figure out how to distort text into a curve to achieve a similar result to this Lucasfilm logo:
Hopefully I haven't overlooked a tutorial here somewhere - I've searched but not found anything. I'm guessing this'll have a really basic solution that I've missed completely...
I need to create text along a curve. Is there a plugin for that? I will have a graphic in a circular shape and need text at the top and bottom to be curved to follow the circular graphic.

I remember I was able to do this in PSP 9 but that was a long time ago. I would be able to do it with my mouse. I get the box now after I apply text to Move, Rotate, resize, but no curve. I remember in the past dragging my mouse pointer to the center of the box and getting a option where I can move the text to curve it up or down. That is what I would like to do again.

I have a photo and need to blur/distort out a face. When I use one of the blurs or distorts it does the whole photo. If I use the elliptical thingie it just makes the ellipse, but I don't know how to apply the blur to that spot.

Two restrictions:
No using Shape3D
No using the circle selector. I'm not asking about cropping an image. I want to distort it so that it is a circle.
But I only have (can only afford) the Photo Net free Version 3.3x, 3.5.I have a photo, say 2000 x 1500 px. But it is distorted. It looks like the two people in it have 25-inch legs. So I need to select the bottom half (rectangle select)
- and "stretch" that selection (not the whole image) from 1000 x 1500 px to 1250 x 1500 px!
The revised image with therefore be 2250 x 1500 px.
- but it will no longer be distorted
- and will include all the data in the opriginal photo.
All Serif PhotoPlus does is:-
- stretches the selected rectangle
- but keeps the same 2000 x 1500 dimensions
- simply by cropping off the bottom 200 or so pixels. This is not what I want. instead, whether or not Photo Net Version 3.3x, 3.5 is capable of resizing / changing the dimensions of a selected part of an image, i.e. stretching it along one axis?
It will really get me out of a hole that could never have been envisaged for such a simple, routine photographic requirement.
When i save a document in Photoshop cs6 to use on indesign the text seems to distort somehow? (parts of it are missing also).

I have drawn the shape, inserted the text as paragraph text, but the text always wants to sit straight. I am so frustrated as I can find a workaround in either Corel or Adobe CS products. I have tried using artistic text in Corel, but have to do it line by line - and this brings other problems, such as I cant justify each line with each other, and sometimes a character jumps up relative to the other characters and the entire paragraph does not taper in...so this is not a solution, apart from the fact it will take me FOREVER to insert line by line....I would like to treat the text as a multiple line paragraph, and follow the shape.

I follow the tutorial in the Xara Help, but cannot get the results shown. I draw the circle, compose the text, and set it to the middle Select both circle and text Arrange/Fit Text to Curve....the text appears around the lower, right side of the cirle After all this I am unable to manipulate the text (It's a piece of cake to do this in Publisher 2010, but it has some minor problems in appearance)
I've read on the internet that to make a Bézier curve, you are supposed to right click, i believe? It says to press the right mouse button. When I right click, however, it just makes another cubic spline line of secondary color.

I tried creating an ellipse and filling it in with semi-transparent brush and use the dents tool on it but its just not... WAVY enough. Is there a plugin or way to add more lines to the lines/curve tool? That would be VERY useful at all times so I can make custom waves/do more things with it.
When using the Line / Curve tool, I tend to cause a line to "finish" because when I try to click on a handle to bend the line, I miss, (due to poor vision)... and the line can no longer be adjusted. Is there a way to cause the handles to re-appear so I can complete the line the way I need to? "Undo" only makes the line disappear, and I have to start all over.

In the past, I have had no trouble doing this, but I now find that the lines no longer merge into one another, but overlap. I get the same effect when using the paintbrush tool. It is probably something that I am doing incorrectly, but blowed if I know what.

know the Line/Curve only have 4 pointers/handles/nubs (To be honest, I do not know what it called). There one at the start, two in the middle and one at the end but I need to add more as I need to make more curve so, is there a way to add it or at least any plugin.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the things I do a LOT is outline a circular object (in a photo) using the line/curve tool in a separate layer so that I can select the circular thing or everything else. Hope that made sense. Anyway, the thing is not exactly a circular and the line/curve tool works great but it would be nice to have a shape tool that would draw a circle that could be sized/positioned and slightly deformed using nibs (or nubs or whatever) similar to the line/curve tool.
Is there a way to do that with the built in shape tool? Or is there a plugin?

i want to remake this image but i cannot figure out how to make the same curve of the words: MEDICAL ASSOCIATION.
i have tried creating a Path with half of a similar oval and then used the Type on a Path tool and i have tried using the Pen to draw a Path but it looks aweful and of course i hae tried the Warped Text tool but the only option for what i need is the Arc Lower which doesn't give the result i need no matter how i adjust the tool.
I'm drawing a steam locomotive builder's plate which is elliptical in shape (240x150mm) and I'm having trouble trying to get text to follow the profile of the ellipse. I've tried using Express>Arc-aligned text, but when I click on the curve the command line keeps telling me to select an arc. I've tried separating the upper half of the ellipse from the lower, but I still get the same "Select an arc" instruction. Here's a typical elliptical plate:

Where can I find a preset shape of a ogee curve. It's sort of a slanted S. I've attached an image of one. Lacking a shape, how to draw one using PSP X5. I used autocad and converted the DWG to a JPG file.
