Paint.NET :: Moving Selected Item Automatically Leaves Checker Board Pattern On Image
May 25, 2011I just got a new computer (Windows 7) and I don't like the default "Paint" program that comes with it. I've been using the Windows XP paint program for a long time and Paint.Net was the closest thing I could find to it.
I don't use Paint to edit photos or create super detailed artwork. I use it to draw little things (the image size is usually 50x50 or 100x100 pixels) and zooming in to 400%-800%. I've used paint.net a few times but I was wondering if there was a place in the program that would let me set preferences. It would just save a little time making it more convenient and less frustrating.
These are the things that I would like to change:
1: When moving a selected item it automatically leaves a "checker board" pattern on the image. It's relatively easy to fix with the "Paint Bucket" tool. Though if there was an option to make it only leave the default area white it would be a time saver.
2: When moving a selected item it will automatically replace the image beneath where you place it. In the Windows XP program there was an option to either replace an image or to replace all other colors except white (255green+255red+255green on the custom color spectrum). Is there an option like that in this program?
3: After moving a selected image (using the "rectangle select" tool then the "move selected pixels" tool) is it possible to simply de-select the selected image without having to click on the "rectangle select" tool and right clicking? In other words, being able to move an image, deselect the image, then automatically return the tool to "line" tool?
4: While using the "Line/Curve" tool the 4 click and drag points automatically appear on it to make it "curve-able" so is there a way to just leave it as a solid line without those 4 selectable points appearing?
5: Is there a way that I can make "Line Tool" my default cursor instead of pencil?

May 10, 2013I've been wondering, is there some trick to starting 2 Bezier lines at the same start- and end-points? Or do I have to eyeball it? Can I reactivate an old, previously selected line after something else has been selected? Is it possible to keep several lines selected in separate layers apart from each other?

I remember I was able to do this in PSP 9 but that was a long time ago. I would be able to do it with my mouse. I get the box now after I apply text to Move, Rotate, resize, but no curve. I remember in the past dragging my mouse pointer to the center of the box and getting a option where I can move the text to curve it up or down. That is what I would like to do again.

Dec 30, 2011Alright here's the problem, after reading extensively and watching many videos, I finally learned how to crop and layer , which is ridiculously easy!But now I can't get the line/curve tool to make solid connections.
Green Circle: Where the lines meet end to end
Red Circle: Where the lines overlap
Blue Circle: Where I crossed lines perpendicularly in example of what's going wrong.

Feb 16, 2013I presently have code that will select objects on screen based on particular stored object handles. The code then prompts the user to add additional selections once these handle selections are made. No problem. The problem lies with attempting to deselect the objects that were selected via object handles. I should say highlighted because that is what the present code is doing. It is highlighting the objects on screen. The code I am using follows:

CorelDRAW X4 :: Break (curve) Apart With Multiple Entitles Selected?
Feb 15, 2012I want to know why CorelDraw won't let me select several curves at a time and break them apart simultaneously. When I select more than one (by marquee or shift key) it greys out the "break apart" command, and Control-K won't work either. I did find a work-around macro in an old post, but I don't understand why the CorelDraw programmers turn off the break-apart command for multiple selections.

More specifically, I want to pre-select the drawing curve of a hole, and then run the rule. The rule will take this selected drawing curve and get its model. Then from here I'm expecting I'll be able to use the Hole Feature classes in the API to retrieve the wanted information.
I've tried using SelectSet.Item(1by tut cannot seem to be able to set it as a drawing curve (or anything for that matter).

I free-handed the curves with my pointer tablet, and then I've been going in with the paintbrush thickening the lines and smoothing edges and whatnot (my tablet makes exceedingly wiggly lines for some reason)... It takes FOREVER going in and trying to make a perfectly smooth line using a 3px brush... (The original image is 3000 x 3450. Great learning experience, but my eyes feel like they're about to fall out of my skull after tracing, re-tracing, and re-re-tracing a 30-pixel area for an hour, lol.) I'm convinced that with the amazing images that come out of Photoshop, they must have a tool that makes creating curves a simple, easy process.
