I have two pictures and I try to copy a small part of one picture to the other.I did a rectangular selection of 2 cm square of the first picture and copied it but when I pasted it in the other picture the selection was now 4.68 cm square.
I suspect that's because the two pictures have not the same resolution. How can I keep the size of the selection from two pictures of different resolution?
1. I have created a rectangular selection
2. I have rotated it with right mouse button pressed.
3. I want to copy&paste selection as the new picture, but I need to rotate manually selected image part before that to fit into new canvas exactly.
Is it possible for the result to be autorotated to fit rectangular canvas?
Photoshop is resizing my image and instead of it coming in at about 4" W x 5"H it is coming is at 6" W and 1" H..
View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing the below steps causes a string of pixels to delete, and forum I visited [URL]..... with similar issues think it's a bug in PaintShop Photo Pro X3 13.0.0.253. I now have version X3 - 13.2.1.20 after updates.
1. Start a new image, with solid background.
2. Selection tool, rectangle, add/shift, feather 0, anti-alias on.
3. Draw out a 3" rectangle. Flood fill or paint in the shape with a solid contrasting color. Leave shape selected.
4. Go to Edit, Copy.
5. Go to Edit, Paste as transparent selection.
6. Place the copy to the right and up against the first shape.
7. Go to selections, Select None.
Take note that there is a string of pixels that is being removed. The above steps were posted by my peers in the PaintShop Photo Pro community forum I mentioned above.
What I’ve been trying to do is Paste As New Selection from one image into another, and pixels are cut off once I click to release the selection. I’ve tried different things, like expanding the canvas of the pasted image, and other things, but nothing has worked.
I occasionally download drawings from web sites, (McMaster -Carr, Grainger, etc) for parts that I'm using. They make it easy: they offer drawings in multiple formats, (I use .DWG), although there's also .DXF.
The drawings open right up no problem. Here's the problem: What I see almost all the time is that when I copy and paste those drawings into my drawing, the scale is wrong.
Specifically:Say the original drawing has a feature with two holes, and the original drawing shows those holes as 1 inch apart, center to center. I paste that drawing into my drawing, and when I dimension it, the holes are never 1 inch apart. They're some completely different unpredictable dimension,
Is there a way to paste differently so the dimensions come down right, or is there something else I need to do so I can use those drawings without all the hassle I have now?
How can I tilt image / picture / selection in Paint.net, for example 25 degrees?

Even better would be Perspective-tool, like in Gimp. With it you can stretch each corner / selection point of the picture separately to whatever perspective form you like, like in this picture

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a need to repeatedly 'copy' an area of a certain size (say X by Y) from a number of images.
I can set the size, by eye, using the rectangular selection tool and then simply move that to each area on the image I wish to copy - no problem.
But I want to do the same size from a number of different images (and will be doing this over a number of different sessions/days etc.)
It use to be that when I would import a picture that was larger than the current canvas size I was dealing with it, it would ask me if I wanted to enlarge the canvas size or not. Now it just automatically is changing the canvas size and it's driving me nuts because I don't want it to do that!

The object of the picture is on the right and that is where I would like to keep it. What I would like to do is extend the width, to the left, to 960 and fill in that new space with the background color in the picture. Then add the title of my website on the left. I looked at the tutorials but cannot seem to make the tools do the changes I want. how to make my headline.

When I save a picture it goes from 6mb to 700kb. Is this normal or do I need to do something different and does it effect the picture quality when printing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen photographing a tall object from the ground, for example the rectangle of a house wall, the picture perspective will be distorted in the sense that the bottom of the wall will be wider in the picture than the top of the wall.
Say, for example, that the bottom of the house wall in the picture is 1 inch wider than the top of the wall. Is it possible to increase the size of the picture gradually from the bottom to the top, from 0% of 1 inch at the bottom to 100% of 1inch at the top? So the end result in the picture will be an evenly sized wall from bottom to top?
I've been using 2.6 and created a template for multiple business cards on a standard 8.5 by 11 sheet. [URL]
However the later versions ... 2.8 cause distortions when I try to print. ( Canon MG 2120) The standard 8.5 by 11 mysteriously converts to 7.997 by 10.349 inches .... and a weird 318.870 ppi appears. This obviously distorts my template and the 2 by 3.5 inch cards become odd sizes. When I open the template in 2.6, it works perfectly.
What has happened to the later version? i can't reset to inches and even using the 2559 by 3300 pixils with the 1050x600 card sizecan't be printed accurately So I'm now creating in 2.8 and opening in 2.6 to get my sizes correctly.
I love the expanded tools for drawing in the 2.8 ... but this feature is a nuisance ... along of course with the terrible sizing scale for the brushes. SO hard to calibrate the smaller and moe common sizes. Another bad feature.
Have I missed some adjustment somewhere. Using the same printer, same download gives two different prints sizes in 2.6 and 2.8.
I'm using PSE10 on a Win7 (64bit) OS. When I delete a picture (from catalogue and harddrive) the PSE-Organizer tends to jump down several pictures (Haven't been able to determine a fixed number), so I have to go up again and browse through the same pics a couple of times.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an application that creates stock charts. I want to use those stock charts on a website. But the application itself has no image features. I can copy the chart though and past it into photoshop. Now my problem is that I want every chart to have the same size (look). I was thinking of making the charts w x h = 400 x 600, in that way they fit nicely on my website. And I want to save it ready for the web so that I get small files.
My desktop has a setting of 1280x1024. My stock application has windows for the charts so I can basically make them any size as long as they fit on my screen. I copy the chart and then i go to photoshop but that is where I don't know exactly what to do to get uniform looking charts.
how to get uniform looking pics. Should I create always the same canvas size, with the same pixels? Or how would I go around this?
when I opened up a picture I had drawn to start colouring it, it was being displayed in wrong colours.
It seems to be lighter and has more yellow and red in it.
I dont recall changing anything.
This is only how the image is displayed though when you look at it on photoshop. Because after you save it, you can open in in paint or whatever and its back to its original colours.
If i start a brand new picture from scratch, and then save it and open it up in another programme the picture is significantly darker and bluer.
So I think it has something to do with the way that photoshop is viewing the picture.

i have never been able to figure this out despite trying to do it from time to time and i basically cannot figure out if this is dependent upon actual images size, resolution, the size that the various images are on the screen etcetera, etcetera.
i am not even sure what other questions to ask except that i guess i could avoid all of this if i could copy a section of an image and then paste it into another document in a way that would give me the ability to RESIZE the incoming paste.
i basically want to get a logo into another document in a way that i can size and orient it so it looks good graphically...

When copying text from Photoshop into Illustrator the font comes through but the size is always about 4 times what it was in Photoshop. Both documents are set to the same dpi. I don't understand where it's getting this arbitrary size info from. Any trick to get the size to come though correctly?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems with gimp 2.8 I've just installed on my new laptop. I'm an artist and use scanned images to colour in GIMP, and in version 2.6 these were displayed with the actual canvas size (A4) and scan resolution. I work with these images and often need to increase the canvas size. In 2.8 the scanned images are displaying with a canvas size around 5 times larger than A4 - I think this is because GIMP is saying the resolution is 72ppi, whereas I scan at 300-400 ppi. My finished jpeg files all display on 2.8 at larger canvas sizes aswell. how to get GIMP to recognize this automatically so that the actual canvas size is shown?
View 3 Replies View RelatedBought x6 a couple of weeks ago together with a new Windows 8.1 and 64 bit pc. I get a problem when I paste part of one image into another one. If I want to move it or enlarge/decrease the pasted part, it freezes or only part of it appears. However, if I then click on the composed image and reduce the size a bit, the pasted part appears ok. Nuisance as it slows the process down and should not be happening. as this never happened with X3 running on Windows 7 32 bit?

Right clicked it and copied it (Win7-64 clipboard).
Started PSPX4 SP1.
Cannot paste .. paste options greyed out.
So I drag/drop the jpg into X4-SP1 ... works ok.
Also, opening the file in X4-SP1 works ok.
Tried another Copy/paste with another app .. PaintDotNet.
Pasted from Win7-64 clipboard ok.

When I try to place a picture in photoshop CS6 either from drag&drop in the application window or from the place command, my image gets automatically resized based on the resolution (pixels per inch) of my document.
Example:
I create a new blank document, 1000*1000px @ 300ppi.I have another image that I want to place in the document and this image measures 500*500px @ 100ppi.I then go to File->Place and the image that appears is way too big. In the Info panel, it says that the image is 1500x1500 and the transform settings at the top indicate that the image hasen't been scaled because both width and height are at 100%.If I cahnge my document resolution (no resample) to 100ppi, the image has the right size when I place it.
Is this normal? Because it has never done that with past versions of Photoshop. If it is normal, is there a way I can change this because placing an image based on it's physical (printed) size makes absolutely no sense. 1 pixel = 1 pixel.
I try Xara Designer Pro X9 and use PDF Export Options with selected objects for page generation (PDF Export Options).
After PDF export done page size is A4 with my rectangle drawing instead page size with my rectangle size. How can I export to PDF selected rectangle with rectangle page size?
A colleague of mine is having the following problem: He has a dwg file (AutoCAD 2010), with all layouts set to a custom sheet of 8.5" x 13" (215.9 mm x 330.2 mm). When he makes the publish to PDF (that is AutoCAD's default PDF option), he gets all the sheets in a ginormous size: 900 mm x 1,600 mm (35.4" x 63"). See image attached.Picture1.jpg
He keeps asking me the favor to publish it, which I do without problem. I have to say that I am using AutoCAD 2012, but before I posted, I tried using yet another PC runing 2010 and there was also no problem at all.
He is able to publish regular size documents without problem. It appears to be just that one file, but only on his PC.
i have to admit i rarely printed from LR before.most of the time i print from photoshop.but yesterday i had to print a lot of small images so i thought i try LR for it.
i wanted to print a few 35x45mm images on DIN A4 paper.
images dimensions are correct (35x45mm 360 DPI) and it prints as 35x45mm images when i use photoshop.
when i use LR and i set the cell size to 35x45mm the prints come out to small by a couple of millimeters.
LR has not so many print settings i could have messed up.. right?
I'm trying to lay out an 8x10 cell in LR5. My page is a custom package and set up as an 8.5x11 sheet . When I click to add an 8x10 cell, I only get a cell that is ~ 8x8 and I have to drag the bottom down to 10".
