Paint.NET :: Adding PNG Objects To JPG Background
Dec 16, 2011
I have a drawing of a tennis court that I saved as a jpg. I want to add cones with numbers on them to illustrate where to hit the ball to. I saved the cones as png's so I could make the background transparent. I don't understand how to make the clones of the cones and add them to the jpg of the tennis court.
Should I have saved the tennis court as a png file also? The background doesn't need to be transparent.

I new to 3ds max and watched a bunch of tutorials, but I'm having trouble trying to do something simple like moving one box on top of another box.
For example, I created a table and now I want to create a lamp and put it on the table. Is there some way I can just move the lamp and have it snap to the surface of the table when it's near?

I recently downloaded a car seat 3d model from turbosquid. It is a OBJ File (.obj). I am having a hard time adding a custom fabric material to the object in Photoshop CS5.5. The material is showing up as a plain blue color and is not adding in the actual pattern of the fabric.

I am just learning AC and have the tutorial video by Brian Benton for 2012. He does a great job of explaining what layers are and how to manage them once they have been created but he does not touch on how to add objects to a layer after you create it? I watched the layers section 4 times and nothing about this.
I can create a new layer fine and also a new object but unless I am just blind and stupid (which is possible) I do not see any options in the layer manager letting you add an object to a layer? Got--- create new layer, freeze layer, isolate layer, etc, etc, etc but nothing to do the simple and most basic task of adding your newly created object to a layer-----either a newly created one you just made or an existing one?

I add an entity to the PICKFIRST selection set as follows.
Editor.SetImpliedSelection(new ObjectId[] { oiTarget });entTarget.Highlight(); // Entity.
After this, I can type the CAD command "erase", and the selected entity is erased. However, if I press the DELETE key the entity is not erased (nothing happens). Why is that?
If I select something on screen with my cursor, the DELETE will erase it.

What I would like to do, for a logo I'm working on, is to add [what I call perspective] a "turn" or angle to the elements of the logo. If you imagine a couple of diagonal lines running north and south at a 45 degree angle. They are separated and meant to resemble the outline of a road.
Now I would like to add elements to the surface of this "road" and have the perspective be correct - as if they are laying on this surface.

I works as a lighting designerand I just purchased Revit LT in order to meet some 3D-project managment requirements. I find the lighting fixture families to be very useful and simple to work with but I need some way to identify the fixture types used in the project without acctually clicking each fixture when in plan view. In Autocad 2D i create an text attribute which I block together with my 2D-symbol, is there any way to do a similar action in Revit? I tried to group my 3D-symbol with a text, but that dident work out to good when moving and copying the symbols.
I imagine al types of diciplines would need a similar action to keep track of what is drawn?

I have recently landed a job at a design company as an instrument design technician. The last time I touched CAD was about 6 years ago so I have been going through some tutorials. Unfortunately the comany I work for use 2000i so it isn't the most up to date version or anywhere near for that matter but nonetheless I have been perservering (I have both 2011 and 2012 on my pc at home).
How to add materials or textures to 2D objects. I have been going through the tutorials on here (which are brilliant by the way) and I'm doing this one:

drawing it has been a breeze now that i have refreshed my memory but I was wondering if I could make it look like the example in the tutorial with the brickwork, water and trees.

I just wanted to add some materials to my objects and it seems some menu entries on Toolpalettes are missing (masonry etc.). I installed the full version of AutoCAD 2012 and also downloaded some additional material libraries. I'm attaching some screenshots of missing menu items and a screenshot of installed items in control panel.

I need to find a way to add "perspective" to grouped objects that include a bitmap and other drawn objects. I can convert everything to a bitmap in needed. What I need this for is I engrave this grouped artwork onto drinking glasses and I have to adjust the artwork for the differences in the diameter of the glass. I need to be able to set the width of the top of the artwork with a numeric value and the bottom with a different numeric value.
An example of the problem with the engraving is that if I wanted to engrave a one inch square half way down the glass I would have to make the top of the square 1.1 inches wide and the bottom of the square 1.2 inches (the math is not right with this example) so a trapezoid turns into a square once engrave on the tapered glass.
The image below shows a sample of the artwork I need to engrave. The right side image is an exaggerated example of what the artwork would need to look like to work right once engraved. I could only adjust the black ring but not the text or image in the center. The third image is to show a trapezoid.

I am trying to add a background image to a jigsaw puzzle piece, Been using the magic selection tool and 'paste into' but i cant seem to get straight lines, Ideally i wanted to keep the 3d style of the image, with the new multicolor background, is it easier to create a 'flat' version and then turn it into 3d afterwards,using illustrator or Photoshop or am i best doing what i was doing originally? images are below to show what i mean.

So I have this gif animation and I want to add a background to it. when I add a new layer (the background layer) and draw something on it (like as an example: a field of daisies) and save the layers as an animation than..well..you guessed it..it participates in the animation.
So how to add a background without harassing the animated layers?

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for adding depth to some logo text on a black background? I had a decent looking logo with an outline/gradient overlay/drop shadow on a light background but now someone is insisting that this site header be black so the drop shadows don't work quite as well... any suggestions for adding some depth to the text, or just a cool logo style in general for a black background?

How can i get such effects like in the attached image;
- first of all; the image has no background - the grapes are shown on a plain white background.Note; there is another nice little thing that we have to mention; the image of the grapes are somewhat with a kind of a overdose of light - i think that this is a nice effect - perhaps added with gimp!? The grapes look very interesting.
- the next effect that i like is the adding of the circles that are seen in the image. How did they add those pastel colored circles.

if there was a way to make objects appear to "pop" out of the background. use the frame to make the object appear 3-d. I'm trying to do that with out the frame. I'm taking a cutout of myself from one picture and putting myself in another background. I want myself to appear to melt into the background, but i want my arm to pop out and look like i'm reaching out. So far, it just looks like 2 images blended together.

I have about 125 RAW files of random objects that were shot against an white background in a homemade light box.
My goal is simple, to isolate the objects against a completely white background whilst still maintaining the shadow of the object (if possible). I have been using Lightroom 4 and a lot of brushes to complete such a task, but I know there is a simpler way to accomplish this with Photoshop. I am using Photoshop CS6.
Here are what I think are the three most tricky pictures:

I have learned basic skills with VS x4, and made a couple of videos with animated stills, and voice overlay, but I want to do something more sophisicated now. I'd like to have either a still or video background, with objects (images or text) "orbitting" over it, that is floating across the screen in a smooth trajectory. Is that possible to do inside VS without a camcorder or other handheld? If so, can you give me a brief description of where to look in the menus, what to do, and I'll work on it from there. I assume it will involve some superimposed tracks. But how can I create objects moving along a smooth path?
