I have a product collage at my company that has a white background with natural shadows. Is there a way to add that to a colored/textured background where the shadows will look correct and I won't have to manually erase all the white?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMany times my raw images are left with what can only be described as a "haze" over them. It is not a lens deal, it is something I'm not doing in the raw conversion process because .jpegs don't have it albeit .jpegs have their other weaknesses. Sometimes the black slider will remove the haze, but many times I'm left with too many areas that are dark. I think it is a contrast issue, but I really stuggle getting rid of the haze and keep a sharp contrasty image without adding more deep shadows to the image.
View 30 Replies View RelatedI am trying to add a background image to a jigsaw puzzle piece, Been using the magic selection tool and 'paste into' but i cant seem to get straight lines, Ideally i wanted to keep the 3d style of the image, with the new multicolor background, is it easier to create a 'flat' version and then turn it into 3d afterwards,using illustrator or Photoshop or am i best doing what i was doing originally? images are below to show what i mean.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got drop shadows on layers to help accentuate the edges, which is working fine. However, many of the lines overlap and when the shadows go over the top of each other they tend to "multiply" and get darker as they overlap.
I've tried changing the blending modes from multiply, to normal to ?. Do to I go about not getting the shadows to build up?
To add image to a background am using the brush tool to clean the image to expose some part of the background . for this to work, i must use the scale too on my image first then i an start applyin the brush tool to clean the image to expose the background.if i dont use the scale tool.. the brush tool will the image white intead of exposing the background. pls i want to know, it there any other way i can achieve apart from using the scale tool?

- first of all; the image has no background - the grapes are shown on a plain white background.Note; there is another nice little thing that we have to mention; the image of the grapes are somewhat with a kind of a overdose of light - i think that this is a nice effect - perhaps added with gimp!? The grapes look very interesting.
- the next effect that i like is the adding of the circles that are seen in the image. How did they add those pastel colored circles.

I took some pictures of my son in a small and not very well lit ( didnt realize at the time) home studio that I put together. I have CS4, am fairly new to it and would like to know how to smooth the background out ( there are some wrinkles and seems) and also to take out shadows.

I want to be able to have the image with a white background and show the shadows of the object, see the attached image for example. How do i go about creating such an image? I looked at other posts on removing backgrounds but these techniques were either too long, given the fact that i have over 100 items to work on, or didn't produce the "shadow" effect that i was looking for.
The first two images are what i'm looking for. The thrid is how one of my items currently looks like. I also tried taking pictures with a clear white or blue background but didn't know an effective way of removing the background.

I am very satisfied with the overall result since there is a minimum of distortion and the color is more than decent. I am not satisfied with the two gray triangles that are in the center of the image. What would be the best way to get rid of those shadows? Is it possible to adjust the images prior to making the panorama which would reduce or eliminate those gray triangles. I should point out that the 4 images used were "perfect" without any gray areas.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe example I use in this question has already been solved by friendly posters here and this is not a rehash... just using the materials at hand to illustrate the point.The effort here was to remove the trailing shadows shown in the first image (at the included URL below).
In that thread 2 posters showed how to do this using a completely different approach.That is, using Arrange/Apply ClipView..However, I used the help manual to try to do this, at a section headed Combining Shapes
When subtracting, intersecting and slicing, you can either use the topmost selected shape to do the "cutting" of the lower shapes, or you can use a mask.To use a mask to cut shapes, first select the shapes and then turn on mask mode. All objects except for the selected shapes disappear while mask mode is on.
Then draw your cutting shape using the main drawing tools (Freehand Tool, Shape Editor, Rectangle Tool, etc.) or paste the shape if you already drew it and copied it. Then select the Arrange->Combine Shapes operation. The mask shape is used to cut the shapes underneath. I never did see anything describing the details of how to do the cutting with one of the shapes already in the composition so I went the mask route, which is explained there.
So I selected all, then went to mask mode, drew a rectangle (at the right in 2nd screen grab below) then Arrange/Combine shapes/ and none of those selections: Add, subtract, intersect and slice... appear to do a darned thing to the objects.
I am somewhat new to PSE 10 and would like to know how to delete portion of a background--buildings that are somewhat blurred. Also, how to add clouds to that respective space?

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for adding depth to some logo text on a black background? I had a decent looking logo with an outline/gradient overlay/drop shadow on a light background but now someone is insisting that this site header be black so the drop shadows don't work quite as well... any suggestions for adding some depth to the text, or just a cool logo style in general for a black background?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.
I am using my CS2 on OSX and when I view the image in a full screen mode the color around the image is grey, well it used to be grey but it is blue now. How do I change it back to neutral grey?

I saved the cones as png's so I could make the background transparent. I don't understand how to make the clones of the cones and add them to the jpg of the tennis court.
Should I have saved the tennis court as a png file also? The background doesn't need to be transparent.
So I have this gif animation and I want to add a background to it. when I add a new layer (the background layer) and draw something on it (like as an example: a field of daisies) and save the layers as an animation than..well..you guessed it..it participates in the animation.

Why can´t someone invent a sigle button for this I have tried all the things by the book but still when I try to lay text image with white background over an image the white is still there althoug I made it transparent. tried to sa for web as png-8, png-24 and gif. nothing works. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm making an image that I want to have 5 different scales of. The scales are: 128x128, 64x64, 48x48, 32x32, 16x16. You guessed it, I'm making a favicon with multiple layers.
I create a canvas size 128x128 to start. Then I add my image to the canvas. I want the image to be transparent, so I remove the background by moving it up to layer 0 and deleting it. Now I hit (CTR + J) to create a copy of this layer to resize to a 64x64. The problem I have is when I copy the image it only copies the image and not the entire layer canvas size.the logo is about 126x90 so that’s what it copies. I need to make this image the entire 128x128, without losing transparency. Essentially what I am asking is can I add the extra 1 px to the width and 38 px to the height without actually changing the visual of the logo?
i am using PS CS4. this is my second day with photoshop. i am very familiar with GIMP but i needed PS for making web site layout. so i downloaded 1G trial and now i do not know how to add a new image as layer in existing image. i tried to drag and drop and tried import , open as but could not find a way to accomplish that.
in GIMP it is file->open as layer option but in PS i could not find similar option.
the reason i want to do is that i want to add a image in header of web page layout.
