View 5 Replies View RelatedMany times my raw images are left with what can only be described as a "haze" over them. It is not a lens deal, it is something I'm not doing in the raw conversion process because .jpegs don't have it albeit .jpegs have their other weaknesses. Sometimes the black slider will remove the haze, but many times I'm left with too many areas that are dark. I think it is a contrast issue, but I really stuggle getting rid of the haze and keep a sharp contrasty image without adding more deep shadows to the image.

I followed the Autodesk tutrorials and was doing fine until I needed to added the Matt/Shadow #24 material. It does not appear as a choice under the standard list in slate. There is one in Mental Matt/ Shadows/ Reflections...which I tried to use but just get a black plane on rendering. Why I cant see Matt/Shadows #24? If not any how I might get the mental ray material to work?
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to cast shadows onto a plane and not have the plane render so the background has the shadow overlayed on it?The top has the plane not renderable and the bottom is set to renderable under obj properties render control. Attached is a image that hopefully will enplane my question. I wish for the cast shadows to appear that they are on the back ground image which is the wood flooring.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open a part (or iam), the ground plane and ambient shadows are active. If I turn them off (on View tab, appearance panel) and exit the part, then reopen it again, the ground plane and ambient shadows are active again.
How do I save these appearance settings? Do I have to turn these off EVERYTIME I open a part?
I didnt see anything in the app options for this.
Is there a filter that yields a triangular poly look to a live action clip with the polys following the natural contour of the imagery...similar to a low res 3D render?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got drop shadows on layers to help accentuate the edges, which is working fine. However, many of the lines overlap and when the shadows go over the top of each other they tend to "multiply" and get darker as they overlap.
I've tried changing the blending modes from multiply, to normal to ?. Do to I go about not getting the shadows to build up?
I'm trying to add a video to a plane using 3ds Max 2012. I've watched two videos showing how to do it, unfortunately they are using old versions of 3dsMax, and their instructions aren't up to date.
I've made a plane, converted it to poly. I opened materials, found diffuse map in architectural, and clicked on bitmap. So I opened my Avi file. And what I believe what I am supposed to do now is drag from the circle to my plane. I see the video on my plane, but it is washed out gray. There is a box that says "diffuse color", where this color seems to come from, but I can't get rid of it.
from 2012 to 2013 im having a hard time of getting my bitmaps to show on my planes. I add the image to the difuse in material editor. I've clicked the apply and the show material on map.. yet im still seeing a grey image on my plane and not the bitmap..

View 7 Replies View RelatedI scanned and live traced a drawing of mine. I want to add color to make it a proper vector illustration for example:

For our office I'm trying to figure out (so far without success) how it might be possible to constrain movement of a block's geometry to a single plane?
I can use a stretch grip but that will mean you can go in one direction only (positive) not negative, I want the freedom to be able to move backwards and forwards in the X-Plane.
Block I'm working on (progress so far) attached. It is designed to display height relative to a datum point in the block, and for use in drawings so you can place it all over and pick up levels to top of things like steels.
The block allows the use to pick the stretch grip to go up, so the objects moved will be to a point which will be relative to the base point of the block, which will be set at a datum level for the drawing. Relative to the base point a field will extract the y-coordinate of an object in the block, add a suffix of mm, that will then be the level relative to the base point.
I want the move command constrained to move the block geometry in the drawing but only in the x-plane; if the entire block moves accidentally in the y-plane it will also move the base point also, which destroys the idea of measuring against a fixed datum.
Is there a method to add a work plane to a curved surface ? I need a construction plane adding to a curved surface to allow a sketch to to added to this plane, not sure if this is possible but the problem I have is adding a series of sketches to a curved surface to then extrude-cut for window openings.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add a logo graphic to multiple images as an action but can't figure out how. The graphic doesn't show up. Can anybody help me out there?
Steps I've taken:
1. open psd file with the graphic layer
2. open an image to have graphics added
3. resize image
4. drag graphic layer to image
5. save as jpeg
6. close image
The image that I initiated the action with, shows the logo.
way to make a action tha't makes a signature automaticly to my photos
i got the canvas action but when i insert the text in the action it starts in the middle and it's flatent there and i need it to be in the lower right corner.
Here's what I want the action to do:
Clear the selected object
Fit the Artboard to the Selected Object
Save for Web and Devices
I can get it to clear and save but I'll be darned if I can get the Fit the Artboard to the Selected Object to register in the recording of the action. No matter what shortcuts I use, menues I use it just won't record it. Is this just a thing Illustrator won't do or any I just missing something?
I do those 3 things listed above ALL the time and it would be nice it I could make those 3 things into 1 action, then add that action to a hot key on my tablet.
Im trying to use the add point tracking feature in the MK/Gmask in action. Is this a bug or has the software changed? I used to be able to add a tracking point, scrub media to where the point falls off, select add, hold down control and move the tracker to a new point and it would work fine.
Today no matter what I do when the tracker jumps to the second selected position it just jumps off screen. It even does this if I dont use the add function and stop a track, move to new location and hit snap? Whats up with that?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have recently updated our office Adobe Creative Suite, and are now using Illustrator CS6 to clean-up hand drawn sketches. When we run any sort of trace on a simple, black and white line drawing, the trace results in a negative image: the white background turns black, and the outline of the sketch is white. We have tried checking the "ignore white" box and several other settings changes. Initially, for our first few times using the new suite this didn't happen:
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly good quality image with black text on a white background and I'm trying to trace it using live trace. I want to be able to manipulate it like normal text would allow you to. The font is a serif font and contains some thinner lines, so whenever I live trace it, it comes up quite uneven and all over the place. I've tried tinkering with the settings but nothing I do really seems to make much difference. My question is, are there any specific settings or modes that are best suited for doing traces of text, or any other methods for that matter? I can't recreate the text using a pen tool - it would take way too long!
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe attached panorama is a composite of 4 other images. I am very satisfied with the overall result since there is a minimum of distortion and the color is more than decent. I am not satisfied with the two gray triangles that are in the center of the image. What would be the best way to get rid of those shadows? Is it possible to adjust the images prior to making the panorama which would reduce or eliminate those gray triangles. I should point out that the 4 images used were "perfect" without any gray areas.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi would love to be able to create a single photoshop action for adding a border, plus a signature in the bottom right corner, that works for both portrait and landscape images.
need i say more?
i already have an action that adds a signature in the centre of the border at the bottom of the image e.g. the image below. what i want though is for that signature to be on the RHS and for the same action to work for portrait images as well.
supplementary info: reason for this is that I want to be able to export 300 wedding images (mix of landscape and portrait images) from lightroom in my pre-selected order (meaning the files are labelled from 001 to 300, ordered according to how the wedding day unfolded) and then use PS to add the border and the signature, in the same place, and for it to work for both orientations.
i need this to work for full sized exported jpeg images, i.e. i want the files that i give on CD to my clients to include my signature in this manner. so I don't want to copy the initial layer and then reduce the second layer size to leave a border around the second layer.
i hope i've been clear I think that this sort of presentation makes such a difference to final printed image, and I DONT want to have to go to all 300 images picking out the landscape from portrait ones (although this may be what I have to do and wouldn't really take that long but surely there's a better way!!!!).
I created an image using live trace and saved it as a ".ai" file. I thought that saving it like this would allow to have the same quality in After Effects. However the After Effects image looks pixilated. I am still new to both programs. Attached are two images, one from After Effects and the other from Illustrator.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe example I use in this question has already been solved by friendly posters here and this is not a rehash... just using the materials at hand to illustrate the point. The effort here was to remove the trailing shadows shown in the first image (at the included URL below).
In that thread 2 posters showed how to do this using a completely different approach. That is, using Arrange/Apply ClipView..However, I used the help manual to try to do this, at a section headed Combining Shapes
When subtracting, intersecting and slicing, you can either use the topmost selected shape to do the "cutting" of the lower shapes, or you can use a mask.To use a mask to cut shapes, first select the shapes and then turn on mask mode. All objects except for the selected shapes disappear while mask mode is on.
Then draw your cutting shape using the main drawing tools (Freehand Tool, Shape Editor, Rectangle Tool, etc.) or paste the shape if you already drew it and copied it. Then select the Arrange->Combine Shapes operation. The mask shape is used to cut the shapes underneath. I never did see anything describing the details of how to do the cutting with one of the shapes already in the composition so I went the mask route, which is explained there.
So I selected all, then went to mask mode, drew a rectangle (at the right in 2nd screen grab below) then Arrange/Combine shapes/ and none of those selections: Add, subtract, intersect and slice... appear to do a darned thing to the objects.
Panning / dollying the camera, the image plane is still trying to maintain a 'forward' looking view to the camera. I would like to lock the talent / image plane so that when I do a camera move, the talent is 'sticking' to the virtual news room I have used.
