View 13 RepliesI was editing some .png s that are transparent other than the picture itself in the middle, what i would do is edit it and save it and it would keep the transparent/invisible background thing. Now when i save the png it automatically makes the background white, i go through and erase all the white but it is regenerated when i save the png again. i dont think i changed any settings, what do i do?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSpecifically when I lasso a section of a screenshot and move it, I would like to leave behind a chosen background color in its place. This was easy in Paintshop but I can't figure out how to do it here. Instead, I seem to have to grab another selection, copy it and put it over the transparent part. Simple enough to do but cludgy. Looked at the manuals and couldn't find a mention.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOK so I may be a bit slow, but! I've installed PSPx6. Setup my plugins etc. Even got my workspace to load and work! Only thing now that is bugging me is the background colour in the Edit window. I use the dark grey. In x5 the background to a photo in Edit mode matched the dark grey of the UI. Now in x6 it seems I'm stuck with the dark grey UI and a light grey background.
Am I missing something some where or is this option gone?
Apart from that x6 loads in 5-6 seconds. Good. Everything else 'seems' to be faster. (I'm using 64bit). BUT Adjustment layers are still slow
I transcribe church registers, due to the poor copies I need to change the background colour as this improves the writing for me to read and transcribe correctly. When I used PSP8 which I am unable to use now I was able to change the colour by using the dropper.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI can't find any preferences for changing the photo editing area background colour. I am not sure what it is called but what I am talking about is the space in the middle of the program where photos open up into (not the workspace option which changes the menu bar colours of which I am using the blue option.) At the moment the centre area is a charcoal colour. When I am editing a photo which is smaller than this space it is surrounded by this colour and it makes it hard for me to see the thin black border which I place around some photos. Can I change the colour of the editing area to white?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing of a tennis court that I saved as a jpg. I want to add cones with numbers on them to illustrate where to hit the ball to. I saved the cones as png's so I could make the background transparent. I don't understand how to make the clones of the cones and add them to the jpg of the tennis court.
Should I have saved the tennis court as a png file also? The background doesn't need to be transparent.
I will like to find out the colour code for the background colour on a particular web address. Unfortunately I am new here so not allowed to post links so will say this as creatively as possible. the address is theregentlagos (with the usual prefix beginning with w and suffix beginning with c for all websites). I am referring to the colour where the menu items like logo, home, brands etc are on.

I am trying to create a good quality transparent image to be used on different background colours. However, for each matte colour I use, the logo appears jaggerdy on different backgrounds. Is there a way to make it perfect on every background?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi've got a question: how do you replace a colour(in a gradient situation) with transparency, so the gradient portion containing that colour becomes semi-transparent with the other colour(refer to the attached jpeg)?
I know that if it's direct gradient tool you can just change the gradient settings, but i'm thinking something like replacing the blue sky so the clouds remains there with gradual semitransparent edges.
Using Revit LT 2014, I'm trying to make the colours used for a room colour scheme transparent. Is there a way of doing this?

I would like to know if it is possible to turn a solid fill area into a transparent appearance.
This is in a 2D drawing.
Just as it states, how do I add 2, 3, even four gradients to one object. Each gradient will have some level of transparency to it.
I need it to work similiar to: masking a layer in photoshop, and then using gradients to "chip away" pieces of the layer. I suppose I could just use opacity mask in AI, but I didnt think of that until now. Anywho now I'm curious, can you do this with multiple gradients in AI?
I tried doing the basic "add fill" option then setting my gradients, but it doesnt preserve the transparency correctly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Animate and just having a play making an animated Christmas card. Problem is all the symbols look fine if you go into each one in isolation, but when you are on the stage everything looks as though it's about a 50% tint of what it should be.
Animation plays as I want, just a lot paler that it should be. I've tried adding a strong colour above all my layers and the same thing happens...
Basically just want to make the middle separating line in the following image:
Identical to (same degree of horizontal fadeout into transparency):
I have spent hours on it trying to edit the original layer below the alpha transparency or adding layers, getting nowhere.
I often drop many pictures onto a background picture. Before dropping them in I isolate the relevant parts using the background eraser. Then drop the photo in. In all my other versions (I'm using v 6 now) the sections that were erased on the pics were transparent such that the photo they were dropped into showed through.
Now the erased sections of the pics I drop in are not transparent but have a solid color.
Where is the setting?
How is it possible, to take the brightness of every pixel from the background, and transfer that to the upper layers transparency. (The upper layer is for example all blue). As I said before, I know that this works. I tried everything out and asked Google a lot of times, but I just can´t figure it out.
What I can remember doing there was just take the blue layer and transfer it to another picture. I was wondering because i didn´t do anything special.
For no apparent reason I can no longer add ratings/picks/colour labels to my pictures through either shortcuts or the menu. The only way I can add ratings is by clicking on the ratings dots when I have the grid extras turned on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a red block and on that block I have some lines which I have in white but they need to be transparent as this design is going to be printed on tshirts of different colours and the colour of the tshirt must show through the transparent lines. Im not sure how to make them transparent though, when I convert the white to tranparent you see only the red.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy do transparent objects look different on white background vs no background like the image below?
If I flatten the transparency both sides of the gradient object looks like it's on a white background.
If I print it there's no difference.
Windows, PS CS4. I'm trying to erase part of an image such that there is nothing there. However, when I erase the part of the background layer (I have no layers below it, and none above occupying the same space), I do not see the chequered transparency pattern, but dark grey. This grey also remains part of the image as if it were a colour rather than being transparent. To be specific, it is the white between the borders of a comic I am trying to erase..
