Maya :: Hyper Shade Default Layout
Jun 22, 2011Whenever I open Hyper shade it always defaults to this terrible space-waiting layout. How can I force it to open up differently?

they did not fix the problem with Hyper-shade not keeping its setting. Maybe Maya 2014?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulties when printing via dwg to pdf a rendered shade plot viewport in a layout. However, there is no problem using realistic shade plot. I am using the following materials: Metal | Alumininum (Anodized Blue, Anodized Blue-Gray), Plastic and Glass and the result is not good as all. I am also looking on a tutorial on strategic place to place light for even more realistic rendering.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to simply edit the default viewport in a layout that I've created. I can't seem to find any threads that were successful or answered about this. I need to set the scale, size and linetype of the viewport. When I've tried, the viewport has simply not changed. I'm afraid im not getting the current viewport. Im using ed.activeviewportid hoping that its associated with the current layout as specified by layoutmanager???

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Inventor, when I export my idw to PDF, then open the pdf, the PDF opens with the "layers" browser open. Its easy enough to click the little arrow and close it, but I had rather not do that everytime.
I can change the defualt for this one file (via acrobat>File > properties, initial view tab). But that does not work when I create another new pdf.
Nothing in the Inventor options when I export it makes a difference.
Does Inventor give the ability to place default Factory Assets on a 2D factory layout? I know the Factory Design Suite has the ability to do this, but I don't need the Suite as I already own AutoCAD. All I need to be able to do is visualize a 3D factory layout such as in the following video for the Factory Design Suite:[URL].......
What software will accomplish this? And again, I wouldn't need the Suite, because I don't need any other feature than to insert 3D factory assets onto a 2D layout.
Basically at some point or another, maya swaps back to the default hotkey layout. Im not quite sure how or why. Sometimes it takes an hour before the problem arrives, other times minutes. Its not permanent tho, restarting the app will fix it.
I've tried deleting second language, installing keyboard software, searching for alternative pref. files etc., and no, capsLock is not on ^^.
I am doing lighting now. Everything is fine except a scene.When I open the scene,it's blank in the preview window but everything is here,just like the first picture.When I open again(didn't close the maya window),it's better but still blank in the default quality rendering,like the second picture.Until I switch to the high quality rendering mode,it just display something like the third picture.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for any way to set the startup state of the viewport windows so that two sided lighting is turned off whenever i start Maya. I work in game assets creation a lot so having it turned off allows me to make sure my normals are facing the right way. I usually just turn it off manually but every now and then i forget and it comes back to bite me.
In maya 2011 I used the script found here [URL]
which is as follows :
Append the lines below to file "initHUDScripts.mel", preferably in a local copy to your maya scripts directory. Path is, in Windows: C:Users\Documentsmaya\scripts
// CUSTOM SETTINGS BELOW
// Set Two-sided lighting to off in default 4 views.
modelEditor -e -twoSidedLighting false modelPanel1;
[Code]....
but I can't seem to find the "initHUDScripts.mel" in the 2013 file structure. Alternate script I can implement or know where I should append this existing script in the 2013 files? the script still works in 2013, I just dont know where to put it to load at startup
I would edit the default extrusion scale to 0.3 giving me this:
I am wondering on how to correct the pinched edge at the top of the model
I have been having this problem for a while now that whenever I extrude or create something thats not totally smooth the edges by default are hardened. For example if I create a 12 faced cylinder it will hard edge everything including the verticle edges. Back when I first started using Maya i dont remember having to select specific edges to soften which can get very tedious and take up time.
I feel like there should be some sort of way to harden horizontal edges and soften verticle edges but I cant find the solution anywhere. Is there any way to change the default soften/harden edges?
Will post pictures upon request.
Is there a way to set the default width of a strip drawn with QuadDraw tool? (Quad Draw tool, ctrl+****f+drag RMB)
The size appears to depend completely on screen space. I'd like to be able to specify a width in units.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSay I have a cartoon-like image of a face, outlined in black, and filled in with a background color. The image was saved as a .jpg so it got anti-aliased and the black outline & background instead of being 2 shades (one for the background, one for the outline) became many shades. Aside from the painstakingly long process of erasing all background pixels and replacing it, yet again with all the same shade, is there another, perferably easier and faster method of doing this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOpen a new doc in Greyscale mode, and use your Color palette in RGB Spectrum to select your hue of grey/colour. And to get a finer shade of grey/colour within the hue of grey/colour you're working with, click on the little arrow (top right of Color palette) and open up the drop down menu and select Current Color. This will give you a finer palette of grey/colour saturation to work with.

Is there a feature in photoshope that allows to put a shade under a written text. For example something like the shade under the big Google word on their site, which gives a kind of three dimensionality to the text.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSuppose I've got a blob of uniform color. I want to make it pop out a little 3D. How do I make shade on one side in a curved manner (that is, it gets gradually darker as you move from the interior of the blob to the edge). Also, how do I add light in the same manner or as a condensed reflective/glittering spot. I also have some circles I'd like to make into spheres with a similar technique. How do you make spheres out of circles in regards to shading and light?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat it boils down to is that I'm the only inventor seat and need to use dwg for layouts in my work environment so that others can edit notes and print if needed. We also always plot to pdf and then print hardcopies as necessary.
Many of our drawings require ISO/axon/perspective views of models, and almost always shaded views. I can plot from inventor without issue, but when I plot from autocad, the shaded views plot only partially shaded with the rest wireframe or completely wireframe. I attached a pdf example. The view on the left should appear shaded the same as the views to the right.
I've adjusted every print setting I can think of, set shaded views to offline only for using bitmap, and tried low, mid and higher resolutions for the bitmap dpi setting.
