AutoCAD Inventor :: Export To PDF - Change Default Layout?
Jun 5, 2013
In Inventor, when I export my idw to PDF, then open the pdf, the PDF opens with the "layers" browser open. Its easy enough to click the little arrow and close it, but I had rather not do that everytime.
I can change the defualt for this one file (via acrobat>File > properties, initial view tab). But that does not work when I create another new pdf.
Nothing in the Inventor options when I export it makes a difference.
Does Inventor give the ability to place default Factory Assets on a 2D factory layout? I know the Factory Design Suite has the ability to do this, but I don't need the Suite as I already own AutoCAD. All I need to be able to do is visualize a 3D factory layout such as in the following video for the Factory Design Suite:[URL].......
What software will accomplish this? And again, I wouldn't need the Suite, because I don't need any other feature than to insert 3D factory assets onto a 2D layout.
I adjust lots and lots of pix for our ebay auctions. Many items have at least 5 pix so they have the same file name but with a 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. at the end of the file name to distinguish them from each other. Example: eapgcompote1.jpg , eapgcompote2.jpg etc..
The problem that I have with Gimp is every time I save/ export a pic Gimp does not save the last export location and last modified date nor does Gimp offer the ability to select from previously saved items like in PhotoShop. I have to go thru about 5 steps in order to save each pic.
I am exporting graphics to TIF format and it needs to be exact same as in document, RGB code. I found out that if I uncheck the "Embed Color profile" it exports correctly with exact color codes as in Corel. However, sometimes I have found out that I have forgotten to uncheck that little box..
So I would prefer to have it unchecked by default. How would I do it?
I opened filters.ini and found the TIFF section, but I don't really understand anything there.
Our office is currently running Inventor 2012, with SP2 installed (Build 219) and the program still seems unable to fully save and utilize a defualt configuration setting for exporting DXF flat patterns of sheet metal parts. Our laser machine requires AutoCAD 2000 DXF, and while I'm able to save a configuration file (.ini) with this setting, I still have to click on the "Options" button and then click "Finish" or it will save to the standard default AutoCAD 2010 DXF file version and our laser will be unable to read the file.
How can i change my default setting from picture 1 to a new setting like picture 2 when i open up a new part file and assembly file.Is there a setting i can change so whenever i open a new part file & assembly i have this setting as my default.
When i setup inventor 10 i choose to use inches, but now i want to use MM how would i change it under inventor 10 i thought it would bbe under options but it not.
I am using Inventor version 2011. I wrote this code which tells me which object defaults style is active
Public Sub ActiveObjectDefaults()
Dim oDocument As DrawingDocument Set oDocument = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument Dim DrgStMgr As DrawingStylesManager Set DrgStMgr = oDocument.StylesManager Dim ObjDfStyle As Style Set ObjDfStyle = DrgStMgr.ActiveStandardStyle.ActiveObjectDefaults MsgBox ObjDfStyle.Name End Sub
Is it possible to change Active Object Defaults Style by VBA code (see picture below)?
I am trying to change Object Defaults in order to temporarily switch style which use layers with different line weights, and than switch it back. I am new to VBA so I am not sure if I am not trying to do something what is impossible.
I received a rather large assembly file from a client that was done in Pro E. I was wondering if it is possible to change the entire assembly from Default material to steel without having to go into each individual part and changing its material manually (which could take several hours) I am using INV 2012 Pro with SP1 installed.
how to change the default setting of surface colors? I work with a lot of surface models and gets very confusing when the surface color is the same as workplanes. Is there a way to change workplanes? I know how to manually select and change them, but a one time change would be nice.

Is it possible to change the default sketch orientation, so that when making a new sketch on the XZ or the YZ planes the Z axis would act as the X, not the Y?
How to change the Default Templates Location from the installation directory to the Network Location so that my Mechanical Design Team can use our Assigned Templates.
For some reason regardless of what I save or the fact that I've saved the template files, everytime I open a new file it automatically adds shadows and applies perspective view. This is extremely annoying. How do I alter the default settings to be ortho with no shadows?
When I make a part in Frame Generator, by default it will name the part a big lengthy name like "frame 000001 etc etc". Is there any way that I can change the default naming system and include parameters in the name (the parameters is not necessary, but would be useful).
ALSO, if I name 2 parts the same name will it show up as "QTY 2" in my parts list?
Any way to change the "View" of parts on file open? When I open an .ipt or .iam the Visual style view is always "Shaded". I want this to be "Shaded with Edges".
I use illustrator for several things. So i really need to use shortcut's.But there is one big problem : I have the english version of illustrator and i have a German keyboard layout. An example :

I'm trying to simply edit the default viewport in a layout that I've created. I can't seem to find any threads that were successful or answered about this. I need to set the scale, size and linetype of the viewport. When I've tried, the viewport has simply not changed. I'm afraid im not getting the current viewport. Im using ed.activeviewportid hoping that its associated with the current layout as specified by layoutmanager???
I have been exporting my layout to a pdf and when I open on one computer it is fine, but when I open the pdf on another computer features are missing and I get an error message from adobe "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct this problem"
I have restarted the computers, renamed the file. What to do now.
drawing created, set image in perspective, hide, used 3dOrbit to position and so forth to what wanted. Then create new layout which shows just fine.BUT can't "select" anything to export from layout. If try to export directly from drawing sheet it exports hidden lines and is white on black (which don't need or want in an advertising image).I KNOW this can be done since I did it 10 years ago, got nice clean images (for a number of products I sell) as *.wmf files that I have been using since then. But, have lost some of images and having a problem updating my company catalog (but need to recall how to do this as may need different drawings in the future-I did it before). Have read mentions here of JPGOUT command but that doesn't work on my AutoCAD 2000.
in Autocad i have set up my workspace layout (how all my toolbars are arranged), How i can export this and use it on somebody else autocad (transport via flashdrive).
i downloaded the trial version of 2k9, on a win xp machine, with the main interest in trying out this new feature...unfortunately i have yet been successfull in using it as autocad either locks-up durring the export or end up with an "unhandled exeption...eDegenerateGeometry"...
i'm also attaching the details of such an exception (and i probably should report this to autodesk for their investigations)...
