I am exporting graphics to TIF format and it needs to be exact same as in document, RGB code. I found out that if I uncheck the "Embed Color profile" it exports correctly with exact color codes as in Corel. However, sometimes I have found out that I have forgotten to uncheck that little box..
So I would prefer to have it unchecked by default. How would I do it?
I opened filters.ini and found the TIFF section, but I don't really understand anything there.
I like to use .001 for nudge and 20 for super nudge, so every time I open a new file I need to change it from the default settings of .1 and 2. I've always wondered if I could set my own defaults and it occurred to me to ask on the forum. I can't find it anywhere on the options menu..
I recently upgraded my laptops to Fedora 17 and Linux Mint 13, which now come with Gimp 2.8. After discovering that Save and Save as are moved to Export to and Export, I tried saving the default export settings for JPG. I usually set the Quality to 80 and make some other adjustments. However, the defaults always revert back no matter how many times I press the Save Defaults button.
Also, is there any way to make Gimp always use the previously selected settings? It seems that even though I set the defaults, with some images I open, edit and attempt to export, it tries to adjust the quality settings again. I just want to always have the defaults I have set for exporting jpg files without having to click an extra button or keyboard shortcut every time I save a file.
I'm using AutoCAD Architecture 2012 and Windows 7 Professional x64. Is there a way to change the default sizes of various dialog boxes? When I use the File Open dialog box, for example, I always want it to be bigger so I drag the corner to enlarge it, but the next time I call it it's back to the same default size. Can I drag it to a new size and make that stick, a variable set differently perhaps, or is something more sophisticated involved?
We just upgraded from Corel X4 to X6. When exporting a file into tiff in X6 , some images are creating extra lines that run into space. The images are made form cgm files, have not the best quality and relative old but in X4 I never had a problem with that.2678.test_c_drw_000_X4.tif4722.test_c_drw_000_x6.tif
Any new setting that needs to be on or off ?
I noticed that in X4 there is an option to apply ICC profile which I can't find in X6.Does this influence this?
Some days ago, I installed the x6 version. Now I find that, when export to Tif using x6 with the same settings and the same origin file, the file size is almose 3 more times then when using x5.
More Details:
I always use lZW compression, than the color mode I select paletted, and the final, choose document palette.
When saving a TIFF file on Adobe PSCS6, the "Save" dialog box always defaults the byte order to MacIntosh rather than IBM PC even though I am using a PC. I have checked Edit>Preferences but can't find an adjustment for this. Do I have to just live with it?
How do I go about saving the settings on the open dialog box? It keeps moving to different locations and it keeps changing the Name / Date modified / Type / Size columns very narrow where it only shows the name and nothing else.
I do have the dialog box very large across so it can accommodate what I want including the preview.
I was wondering how can we change the default setting of PS.
If you go to "Blending Options" in PS and click on "Outer Glow/Inner Glow/Drop Shadow/....etc" You will see that these options have already some colors as default, means Drop shadow has black color as default and inner glow and outer glow has yellow as default.
I wanted to change these default colors to something else. Like I want to change the YELLOW color of outer and inner glow to WHITE color. Is it possible?
When I open Gimp, I want all selection tools to have antialiasing turned off, all thresholds set to 0, default brush set to 1 pixel, and erase tool set to hard erase.
How can I achieve this? (I use gimp for pixel drawings.)
I have been using Paint.net for quite awhile now and like it very much. There is one thing I would like to see, it would make using Paint.net easier. Right now the default setting for saving is PNG. Unfortunately I do not use PNG, the universal setting for just about anything is JPEG. Is there a way to change the default setting from PNG to JPEG? I downloaded and installed the latest versio, 3.5.10 but it made no differense. I have been unable to find anything about this in the drop down menus.
I am trying to change some default layer settings. I go to: Toolspace -> Settings tab -> Right click the drawing name -> Edit drawing settings -> Object layers tab. There I can set the default layers that objects are created on. I want to set "General Note Label" and "General Segment Label" to be created on what ever layer is current.
if I have a page of pics in a cdr, how can I export each one as its own stand alone tif? seems like I could do that at one time but now when I select an image and export it, it shows a weird dimensions size not like the image.
for example if I select a 5x7 image and export as a tif the dialog box shows it as 5.93 X 10.4 when the image is in fact 5x7.
we have just upgraded to x5 and now i have a big problem exporting tiff:
I work for print, not web. lets say i have a 50x50 cm layout. default dpi of document is set at 300. if i want to export that as a tif, it defaults at 300dpi in the export dialogue. until now, in x4, if i checked the maintain aspect ratio and just changed the dpi to lets say, 150dpi, it would only change the % of the size, not the actual size of the tif! now it changes somehow to double the size! but i want the same size to remain! also cm is selected, so no reason for it to keep the number of pixels!. i have to uncheck the maintain aspect and recheck it again to put the correct value in the size.
Also, i work with big documents, is there a way to stop previewing the jpegs in the export as jpg dialogue?
Every time I open Xara I have to change the default settings under "Utilities", "Options", "Units" from inches to pixels. There are other default settings I'd like to change as well, but my question is how do I change those settings to default so that when I open Xara, I don't have to go reset them? This is a PITA! I have searched through the help files and don't see any info on changing the standard default settings!
I create a new black document with rendering resolution set to 150dpi.
If I export the artwork as JPEG, and check "Maintain Size", I'll get the artwork in correct dimension and resolution. However, if I export as TIFF, the resolution by default is 72dpi, and if I increase the resolution to 150dpi, the dimension reduces accordingly, ending up with a smaller bitmap exported.
One page of my drawing just will not export as any type of raster/tiff/bitmap. All the subsequent pages will happily export, but one page just will not. The export option defaults to 2% and 240cm height and width.
For some reason regardless of what I save or the fact that I've saved the template files, everytime I open a new file it automatically adds shadows and applies perspective view. This is extremely annoying. How do I alter the default settings to be ortho with no shadows?
X3 - I use X4 at work with no problems but at home I have X3. I set my workspace the way I want it and all my presets the way I want. I hit tools/save stings as default. I then save my workspace as todays date. Close corel and reopen. It starts with the defaults every time! I have to manually choose my workspace and even after doing so my settings have reverted back to default i.e. text to be point not inches like I chose etc.
I use CorelDRAW X4 exclusively (90%) for Laser work. I have a Page saved as Laser Page. It use to open with a 24 x 12 page area and Horizontal and vertical guidelines in place. It is set to "show guidelines."
However, every time I open a new document, the page layout and guidelines are not there. I always have to rebuild the page and add the guidelines. What has changed so that all I get is a blank page anymore? Or how to reestablish my defaults? I have re-saved it as my new default countless times but nothing sticks. It's a pain to have to always reestablish the layout I want to work with..
Transitioning to CD X6 while try to get work done is a chore. I just loaded the real CD X6 box version. It deleted the downloaded test version. But now I made a new poster and I am using Ctrl-E to export it and there is no Export Dialog box. It just saves the JPG in what it thinks I need!! How do I get the Export Dialog box back to control the parameters of my Export?
