how to copy the hexa values of a shade of a colour?
According to the attached picture in Colour editor that field is grey so does not seem selectable, but in the meantime quite often would like to copy that hexa value from one document to a second if needed.
At Named colors it is always active field so easily can mark and copy with the mouse, but not if that color is a shade of a Parent. Or I am missing some evident easy way
I'm trying to find a method in Photoshop 7.0 to take an image of any sort and distort / change it to a sort of pencil drawing WITH SHADINGS so that he can practice copying them

In Photoshop this is done by selecting the Eyedropper tool and then Right /CTRL clicking to bring up the context menu - is the similar way in Illustrator? I can't find one

I've never had to look at this before.
But, now, having designed a logo, I assume that I will need to provide Pantone colour numbers etc...
X1: I have no clue what I might have done to cause this, but all of a sudden when I copy/paste or import a graphic it comes in empty with red dash line around what would be the graphic plus the handles. The files are JPGs and PNGs. Any clues?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems a Live Copy change made on the page holding the original Live Copy will change all copies on all pages but not in reverse. If I change the copy of the Live Copy on Page 2, only the page 2 object changes (local change) but if I change the original Live Copy or any other copies of it located on Page 1, then all copies on all pages change (global change.)
Not a problem, just trying to understand. If I want to change all Live Copies of an object on all pages of a document then must be be done from the page of the original Live Copy?
I've created a Live Copy set which I want to clone but have that cloned set not be associated with the originals (i.e. end up with 2 distinct editable sets). Is this possible?

Having an issue with CMYK 100%-K value getting reconfigured on PDF/X-3: 2003 (ISO 15930-6) CMYK Export to values like:
C - 74.06%
M - 68.29%
Y - 66.57%
K - 89.83%
When working in the xar file, the CMYK for black is:
C - 0%
M - 0%
Y - 0%
K - 100%
I have customized a standard user profile Sam in my win 764 XDP7 interface. (added buttons, etc)
Is it possible to export/save that interface and pull it into the program and use the interface when I "Run As Administrator"? Or do I need to just spend time rebuilding?
As a User, when I work with a web site file, I have to republish locally all pages every time I open the file. It does not remember where I stored my preview. I am hoping that by running as administrator that will no longer be necessary. (My website file built in XWD6 moved to XDP6 and moved to XDP7 ends in .xar not .web)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just read a tutorial, in which a shape is copied from Illustrator and then pasted as a path into Photoshop.I tried the same thing with Xara (Xtreme Pro 4) and all it pastes is a bitmap, not even transparent.Is there any way, I could get this to work?

1) I will be drawing a house facade in plain lines in an orthographic view. Once one window is drawn, can I duplicate this several times along an imaginary horizontal line? If so, what tool or action does this?
2) Similarly, is there a way to duplicate a brick outline at a desired spacing many times along an imaginary horizontal line, and then duplicate this course many times on top of each other to fill a wall?
I don't know if it is the update or not but every time I fill a rectangle with noise and create a bitmap copy and try to erase the white with Medhi eraser classic XP&GD and XDPX now stops working. I have tried this over and over with the same result, or should I say lack of a result? All I am trying to do is make a star field. Clarify the use of Magic Erase - I am using Photo & Graphic Designer 2013.When I try to replace an area with another of the same photo it does not work properly with PNG but seems to work almost 90% good with BMP.It looks like the colour is not correct with PNG even thou the Feather = None.
Does this means that Magic Erase should be done with another format than PNG? If there is possible that Magic Erase will not copy the source area colour 100% on any format even if the Feather = None?
If I create a text object, then copy and duplicate, how do make the width of the duplicate text smaller whilst maintaining the length of the object. I have worked out that I can use borders around text to create a smaller version however the effect is not suffice.
Effectively what I want to achieve is the 'feather' effect that reduces the width but retain the overall shape and dimension without any distortions.

I'm reproducing a 1930s - 1940s decal from a toy crib that we're restoring and repainting. The original decal on the headboard is deteriorated and flaking off, so I decided to reproduce it on clear inkjet waterslide decal paper. (White paper wouldn't work because of the open area between background ovals and the figure itself; here's the reproduced decal image - imagine everything not in color to be a clear area: )
However, since inkjet printing doesn't include opaque white, I need to manually paint white on the decal sheet behind the ovals and the figure to make the colors pop and to prevent the pink-painted crib background from showing through. I'd like to take the Xara image, copy it, then turn the copy into a very light black or gray line with no fills. This becomes guidelines for hand-painting

I am in the course of evaluating Xara, and it has a lot of good things going for it compared to Adobe, particularly in combining many of the features of ID and AI. The graduated color screening on objects is way better than AI.
However, I cannot find how to copy an object or text block and paste multiples at specific intervals. Both Pagemaker and InDesign have this feature, so I can't believe Xara overlooked it, as it is particularly useful when laying out say business cards 12 up on a sheet for printing. Yes, I have done a search on this forum and also studied Xara help files.
I am having problems trying to produce an image with reflections. I have been doing it in the past with Xara4. My procedure is to take a number of images, create copies of them, flip them then add transparency once they are in place as refelctions. These are all placed onto a dark background; reflections are stretching beyond the background at this stage. And in the past if I select all, then Arrange>Combine Shapes>Intersect Shapes then I can have the whole image without the transparent regions of the reflections. My plan is to have the background transparent and save all as a png to preserve the transparency on web. But it doesn't seem to happen in my latest attempts. Instead at the Intersect Shapes stage I get a tiny part of the background as my final image....

In the Info panel, the eyedropper tool displays percentages for every type of color information (K, CMYK), while the "8-bit" field remains blank.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just read the thread the thread "...plus ask about erasers" but it doesn't answer my question about combining shapes to remove unwanted portions - or at least I didn't quite understand it. Here's my issue. I've created a nice "background" image with ripples and live effects, but it has gaps, and isn'tthe right shape. I need to erase parts of it and clip it to the right shape, but every time I try to do this using the slice tool, it puts the gaps back into the image! Attached is my image and the shape I want to clip it to.
I just tried converting the ripple shape to a bitmap copy and then slicing the shape - that doesn't get me the rippled effect I want - just the shape I already have. Then, I tried just creating the water ripples in my shape - but again that leaves gaps and when I try to "slice" them away it does all kinds of weird things to the shape..
I have a keyboard shortcut for Copy (see directly below). This command doesn't copy multiple. But if I type "Copy" at the comment prompt (AutoCAD 2013) the copy multiple is the default. Copymode is already set to "0".

I have a layout of office space and saved as a JPEG. I would like to shade the areas of camera views that are based on a 50 degree angle. Can this be done.

The image was saved as a .jpg so it got anti-aliased and the black outline & background instead of being 2 shades (one for the background, one for the outline) became many shades. Aside from the painstakingly long process of erasing all background pixels and replacing it, yet again with all the same shade, is there another, perferably easier and faster method of doing this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOpen a new doc in Greyscale mode, and use your Color palette in RGB Spectrum to select your hue of grey/colour. And to get a finer shade of grey/colour within the hue of grey/colour you're working with, click on the little arrow (top right of Color palette) and open up the drop down menu and select Current Color. This will give you a finer palette of grey/colour saturation to work with.

i have pictures due on the 7th this month. The only thing that bothers me in my picture is that I have a slight shadow out of my face (on my right).
